4Story Comes to Mobile with Age of Heroes

4S
  • 4Story: Age of Heroes is a mobile port of the PC MMO by the same title released by Zumi
  • 4Story is somewhat of a dying game, but a global and possibly old school version would help a lot with gathering a playerbase.

The Original 4Story

The online MMORPG 4Story has been through a lot since its launch in 2008. As a free-to-play alternative to World of Warcraft, it was celebrated for fast-paced (if a little broken) PVP combat. Over time though a series of updates changed the mechanics until, around 2012, it was a completely different game.

An old-school server called 4Ancient eventually popped up emulating the classic gameplay. After losing a large chunk of the playerbase, Zumi eventually shut down the Global servers and now runs only EU servers.

4Story - Age of Heroes is a spin off version of 4Story online, the PC MMORPG game that began its service at 2007 and is still in service in the European territory. 4Story – Age of Heroes is a mobile version of the game and plans to inherit its legacy.

The word "legacy" raises some hopes here, as does "spin off version." Perhaps it will be a simplified version of the current game. Best-case scenario, Zumi brings back the original version. Judging by how well WoW Classic and Old School Runescape are doing, players like to return to the past-- especially for continuously-run games that received massive updates.

The numerous skills (which players usually keybind) are going to be difficult to port over-- but otherwise, the game suits mobile quite well with the colorful WoW-like art style and clear map objectives.
