Arknights Defender & Medic Chip Guide

This specific mission is very tricky as there is a damage poison cloud in play hurting all your units over time.

Click here for a visual play through. This very article will go over the visual play and break it into down to steps, explaining the reasoning behind my actions, while also giving advice on what else you can do. as an alternative approach

Regardless the key-factors here are the following four golden-rules.

1: Tanks front of Gate with Core Healers

2: Setting up ShiraYuki to cleave the Right Side

3: Ensure that none can die with healers this means your 2 Core Tanks and ShiraYuki

4: Your remaining Guards are fodder/suicide troops. They are there to block attacks tempoary only to reduce the numbers, so your 2 x main tanks doesn't get overrun.

my team

This team consist of 7 x Lv 1's and very few units that has levels but no promotion. Cardigan is the only promoted unit, but the promotion is not necessary. The key factors here is that my main two tanks can do Block +3

This should be a team anyone can build.

Part 1 The Map

the map

The most important part is the 2 x Red Cross which is front of the gate. You should put your 2 x Best Defenders in front preferably +3 Blocks. I put out Cardigan and Cuora here.
p.s. the Red Crosses are more visible in next picture.

Alternatives: For those who does not have Cuora or Cardigan, the important part of this map here is the number game, as long as you do not get overrun you are fine. So ensure that what ever tanks you bring they can +3 Block. Neither Cuora or Cardigan are a must, I just liked them thus I leveled them a bit, and decided them to be my main tanks. If you have a Cuora promoted to Elite 1. She can even block 4 units, but the Cuora I use in this article isn't promoted.

Part 2 Healers

Gummy Healer

Red Cross = Core Tanks
Blue Cross = Healers, in my playthrough I decided to use Gummy who can help on blocking +2 units, while also casting heals.
Do note that on this map there is a toxic aura ensuring all your operators to take damage over time.

Alternatives: We are again in a position that it doesn't matter what you use as alternatives, Gummy is just MVP due to the fact that she can both block and heal so having a Gummy is a good help, but other wise any healers should work. My other healer is Gavial I only picked her because I liked her design. So any healer really just works.

Part 3 A little bit damage helps.

ShiraYuki

Since left side has Gummy +2 and Caridgan +3. Right side feels abit weak in return, this is where I have my ShiraYuki to help on killing some units and ensuring that Cuora doesn't get overrun

Alternatives: ShiraYuki does a fine job due to her aoe splash and long range, but any operator can fill the job, if you have kroos or jessica that should be fine too, even amiya can be useful as long as they can kill few then it's a big help.

P.s. Do note that your damage dealer will be needing healing due to the toxic aura, so ensure to set up a healer next to it.

Part 4: setting up your arsenal and having 1 unit allowance remaining

full setup

Gray Cross = Lance-2, special note on Lance-2 robot is that he only costs 3 dp, and he doesn't count towards unit limitation, so he is just a free healer, please do not send him eairly game as his heals are so weak that he ends up dying, which is why he got delayed all the way to part 4.

additional Blue Cross: I've finally put down my silence healer, which is my only leveled healer, as i've had my core build up, i finally decided to add my best healer, and then i also ensured that my dmg dealer could get eals before dying to the poison.

You now have 1 allowance left of units, which is where we return to our priorities. At this point your last unit is basically your fodder unit. Your team is set, but if someone should get help, you will send your guards out, either to the right of Cuora, or replace Gummy's position, your job is to ensure that Cuora and Cardigan doesn't get overrun, so if they can block 3 units but 4 inc, then send 1 tank to tank 1, if he dies, he dies, just send another.

The priorities again

Just to ensure that we get the key-factors right

1: Tanks front of Gate with Core Healers

2: Setting up ShiraYuki to cleave the Right Side

3: Ensure that none can die with healers this means your 2 Core Tanks and ShiraYuki

4: Your remaining Guards are fodder/suicide troops. They are there to block attacks tempoary only to reduce the numbers, so your 2 x main tanks doesn't get overrun.

Congratulations, you should now have the mission 3-stared and can auto it.
