The summer Skin for Nearl, Shimmering Dew SD01, is currently getting a rerun and is for sale for 18 Originite Prime in the Outfit Store until January 12.
In the future, Nearl will have an Alter form added to the game: Nearl The Radiant Knight, a Limited Operator added during the Near Light event as part of the [Path to Radiant] - [Celebration] Series Limited Banner. When that happens, any players that have purchased Nearl's Shimmering Dew SD01 Summer skin with Originite Prime will receive an Outfit Voucher that allows the player to purchase any skin currently for sale in the outfit store.
Arknights does this because both the Alter and normal version of Operators cannot be used in combat or assigned in the base at the same time. The normal operator skins are not usable by the Alter versions, so the Outfit Voucher is given to compensate for a skin that a player may not be able to use anymore if they obtain and choose to use the Alter version of the Operator. This was done for Skadi's skin when Skadi the Corrupting Heart was released, and will also be done for Ch'en's skin when Ch'en the Holungday is released.
So, in summary, if you buy Nearl's Skin now, you'll get a voucher for a free skin when Nearl Alter is released, essentially making the Nearl Skin free as a buy-one-get-one-free!
Notes:
- You must purchase the Nearl Skin with Originite Prime. If you purchase it with an Outfit Voucher you got from the Skadi Skin, you will not get a voucher when Nearl Alter is released.
- You still need to buy the Nearl Skin with Orignite Prime, so if you don't buy skins at all, then it isn't a good deal.
- If you just absolutely don't want the Nearl Summer skin, then you have nothing to gain by purchasing it. You would just be paying now for a Skin you want later (with the voucher).
- You do not need to have Nearl to buy the skin or to get the Voucher.
- You do not need to pull Nearl the Radiant Knight (Nearl Alter) to get the voucher.
- Once the voucher is acquired (after Nearl Alter is released), it can be used to purchase any skin that is currently for sale in the Outfit store. It cannot be used for skins acquired through other methods, like events.
