First Impressions

Note: These are first impressions and based on conjecture since we don’t know the exact details. 

Ebenholz is our first 6★ Caster [Charge / Mystic], an Archetype that can deliver big hits and burst damage at the cost of a slow ASPD and relatively lower average dps. He appears to be geared for boss killing, starting with his Talent, which increases the damage done by stored attacks and stores an additional charge that will only be used on elite or bosses.

His first skill is a generic burst damage skill similar to the other members of the archetype. It doesn't seem to synergize well with his Trait or Talent so it doesn't seem like it will see much use.  His second skill seems geared toward multi-target wave clearing. It will generate summons that deal aoE Arts damage, and pull enemies.  Although certainly visually interesting and fun, its practical applications are a little less clear.  His third skill is designed specifically for boss killing. It increases his ATK and ASPD and causes him to only target boss enemies. It also increases the charge damage bonus from his Talent, and can be deactivated.

From a meta perspective, the role of boss killer already has some very potent members, several of which can target more than one enemy at a time (aka Eyjafjalla, SilverAsh, Surtr).  There are also several fairly potent single target boss killers (aka Nearl The Radiant Knight, Ceobe).  So Ebenholz will have some pretty stiff competition, it seems, for a roster spot.

根据莱塔尼亚官方出具的说明文件,黑键来自莱塔尼亚的中型城市维谢海姆,是一名普通的大学生,在城内某高校攻读音乐与源石技艺学位。他在一场发生于维谢海姆的不幸事件中感染了矿石病,不得不中断学业,前往罗德岛求医。

很遗憾,那份说明文件里的真话很少。
黑键并不出生于维谢海姆。迄今为止,他生命中的绝大多数时间都在破败的小城乌提卡度过。
黑键也不是什么平民,至少在乌提卡时不是。事实上,直到启程来罗德岛之前,他都是乌提卡伯爵。被指派给他的监护人以乌提卡伯爵代理的身份发号施令,即使在他成年之后仍旧如此。
和其他贵族儿童一样,黑键接受了对一名莱塔尼亚贵族来说不可或缺的教育:礼仪、文学、源石技艺,以及与源石技艺密不可分,有时甚至更为重要的音乐。
许多父母竭尽所能为自己的子女聘请更好的音乐教师,这些教师也在贵族幼童的成长中发挥着举足轻重的作用,有些贵族甚至会以音乐启蒙老师名气的高低作为评判人物的标准之一。

在新旧政权交替的时间节点上,莱塔尼亚经历了剧烈的动荡。饱受巫王残害的人们把怒火倾泻在一切与巫王有关的人事物上,黑键的父母就因为和巫王遥远的血亲关系死于那一时期。
与之相应,少部分人不乐见旧时代的终结。他们以各种方式反抗双子女皇的统治,其中最激进的那些被称为“巫王残党”。是他们让黑键免遭和父母一样的厄运,也是他们把黑键拖进了更大的漩涡之中。
黑键用一句话解释他们对自己做了什么:“他们往我脑子里塞了一段尘世之音。”
医疗部数次检查了黑键的脑部,却仍旧无法确定尘世之音到底以何种形式存在于黑键脑中。可以确定的是,尘世之音的确存在,会引发剧烈的头痛,与黑键如同与生俱来般的音乐天赋和源石技艺息息相关,可我们却无法确定它到底“是什么”。
经黑键介绍,我们从干员车尔尼手中获得了一些研究手稿的复印件。按照手稿中语焉不详的记载,尘世之音是巫王兴之所至演奏的旋律,这些旋律被宫廷乐师记录下来,就成了尘世之音。
“那么,尘世之音难道不应该是乐谱或磁带吗?”
“你们觉得我脑子里面到底是有纸片,还是有塑料?”
最终,医疗部不得不暂时接受黑键的解释:
“那就是一段旋律,一段强大的旋律,强大到我甚至一直在担心,自己是否会在不知不觉间被其吞噬。”
“人被旋律吞噬?这真的可能吗?”
“我只能说,我会尽全力......不让这种事情发生第二次。”
在那之后,黑键拒绝与我们继续就这一问题展开讨论。

刚来到罗德岛的时候,黑键并未过多地表现出如干员芙蓉和车尔尼描述的刻薄或言辞上的攻击性。大部分干员都只知道罗德岛上来了一位沉默而彬彬有礼的莱塔尼亚干员。那时的黑键不主动和人说话,时常在没人的时候发呆,盯着他几乎不离身的那把大提琴出神。有干员出于担心问他需不需要帮助,他也只是轻微摇一摇头。
黑键的转变发生在他第一次出外勤任务之后。那是一次极为成功的行动,罗德岛从一家状况极为恶劣的福利院中救出了十几位孤儿,为并未感染矿石病的孩子联系了可靠的机构,并收治了其中的感染者。
值得一提的是,从识破福利院管理者的伪装到营救行动中的源石技艺支援,黑键全程都在发挥重要作用。
回到罗德岛之后,黑键开始一点一点地脱离之前的状态,他开始和主动来找自己的人对话,开始了解罗德岛的一切,开始尖刻地评价自己看不过去的东西——当然,仅限对博士和少数几个干员。
他甚至参加了一次干员们自己举办的读书会,并在会后和几名干员建立了通信关系。
罗德岛上的大部分干员都难以察觉黑键的这些变化,但有一件事,所有人都看在眼里:
黑键现在不再盯着大提琴出神了。他更常做的是拉响它,和着琴声轻轻哼唱,仿佛在与一位朋友对话。
