Arknights: Liskarm's Talent Explained!

Liskarm's talent, "Tactical Defense"

Liskarm is a unit that sees quite a lot of usage in Contigency contract because her talent provides SP to her allies. However, the game does not explain properly how it works. The following statement is given in game when describing her talent "Restores 1 skill point to this operator and a random ally in the surrounding grids when attacked"

This is incorrect, as the condition to trigger her talent is not only getting attacked, but also losing HP. What is the difference? Dodging, through means like Deepcolor, or blocking the attack with her first skill will provide no SP to herself, nor her allies. This differs from defensive recovery skills, like her own, that generate SP even if no damage is taken.

Because of this, her first skill ends up being inferior in providing SP to herself and allies than we might think. Although its survivability is great, the SP loss from the skill may lead to a shortage of SP in some strategies.

Other Notes:

  • Like Warfarin, her talent will try to give SP to allies, no matter if they are able to receive it or not. If multiple allies are in range, a random ally will get SP, even if they cannot gain any and there are others in range that can.
  • Like all random components, her talent is seeded and will be consistent through auto deploys.
  • It must be an enemy that makes Liskarm lose HP. Things like poison haze will not trigger her talent, even if she loses a constant stream of HP.

Here, Liskarm could not fully charge Thorns' skill, because her first skill blocked the damage from one attack.

Here, Liskarm was using skill 2 and could fully charge Thorns' skill.
