Call of Duty coming to a cell phone near you

October is going to be a big month for the Call of Duty franchise. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will launch on October 25th, but you don't have to wait that long to enjoy a new Call of Duty experience. Activision announced yesterday that Call of Duty: Mobile will go live on October 1st. The FTP game will bring experiences from both the Modern Warfare and Black Ops series of games.

While the Call of Duty franchise is popular with gamers around the world, this is the first time it has broken in to the FTP mobile game market. It will feature fan favorite and new game modes such as Frontline, Team Deathmatch, Domination, Gun Game, and Search & Destroy. It also brings in classic maps such as NuketownHijacked, and Crash. New to the game is the Battle Royale mode where you will have the opportunity to duke it out in a huge open map with up to 100 other mobile players.

Closing Thoughts

Moving their first person shooter game to a mobile format seems like a smart move for Activision, especially with the big release of another major series coming later in the month. This will allow players to take their favorite game on the go or get new gamers familiar with a first person shooter format. We'll be following up with a "first take" on the game once it launches in October so make sure to stay tuned for that!
