What do the letters mean next to my equipment?

I'm assuming it's a grade scale for better enhancement percentages in their slots. But what exactly is the scale from worst to best? How do you get better scaled equipment? Thanks!

The scale goes like this (from worst to best):

F, E, D, C, B, A, S, Z

F is the worst while Z is the best. You only have to be lucky in order to get a high scaled equipment. If you wanna know the percentages of getting a Z scale equipment, i guess its like 1% (if im not mistaken)
