- Although not his preferred Tag, Son Family does garner some interesting partnerships with the likes of SP Super Saiyan Youth Gohan YEL, SP Super Saiyan 4 Goku PUR, or anyone else on this rainbow Team.
- SP SSJ Goku RED relieves SP Super Saiyan 2 Youth Gohan RED of his duties after the lengthiest career in Dragon Ball Legends history, while also flipping Son Family's rigid playstyle of needing a Goku variant to perish first. This is especially relieving since some Goku variants work especially well as Last Man Standing, namely SP Angry Goku BLU, SP Super Saiyan 4 Goku PUR, and SP Super Saiyan 3 Goku GRN.

- Standing alone as the only Hybrid Saiyan, this Son Family Team is made up of fantastic single Fighters at the expense of perfectly tight Z-Abilities. The trade-off is it allows Fighters who have a strong hold on the Meta, like SP SSJ Youth Gohan YEL and SP Angry Goku BLU to fight side-by-side with new blood like SP Super Saiyan 4 Goku PUR.
- SP SSJ Youth Gohan YEL provides a key strength to alleviate his Saiyan allies of their Lineage of Evil weakness, a Hybrid Saiyan Tag and a Color advantage on SP Cooler PUR. the keystone Fighter of Lineage Of Evil Teams. This useful ability harmonizes with SP SSJ Goku RED's sky high Damage Buffs against Lineage Of Evil, effectively making a Team that fights like a pure Saiyan Team but with double answers to the premiere Anti-Saiyan Team.

- Lending a hand in flipping Son Family back into a Strike-Focused Team from a Blasting variant, SP Super Saiyan 4 Goku PUR provides a Son Family Z-Ability, which are sadly few and far between. He also brings an updated Strike kit to replace the aging Son Family Fighters and forms a fist-pounding partnership with SP SSJ Youth Gohan YEL much in the same way that SP SSJ Kid Goku GRN threw a Blast lifesaver to SP SSJ2 Youth Gohan RED when the latter was in a sea of the previously Strike-focused Son Family Fighters.
- Another powerful standalone Fighter, SP SSJ4 Goku PUR is designed to withstand and overcome. As is the theme with most of his Son Family allies, SP SSJ4 Goku PUR is a candidate for Last Man Standing.

- Another Strike Z-Ability is appreciated on this Team, but a double Buff is exactly the kind of Support that Son Family has been lacking. This GT variant of a Goku Fighter is the lucky recipient of the fantastic suite of Buffs provided from SP SSJ Goku RED's Zenkai Z-Ability, breathing new life into this oft-overlooked whirlwind Fighter, who fits with the Strike motif of SP SSJ4 Goku PUR and SP SSJ Youth Gohan YEL.
- As the nature of Zenkai Z-Abilties require both Tag and Color to match, the Zenkai Teams include a Color-Counter Team to take advantage of this unheard of synergy. SP Goku RED performs beautifully next to SP SSJ Goku RED, taking advantage of stacking Damage Buffs, and using the Zenkai Awakened Super Saiyan as a powerful Tank and Blast dump, shoring up SP Goku RED's two major shortcomings. The Green spot is provided by SP SSJ3 Goku GRN, whose Cover: Rescue Ability helps ease the pressure from being the Counter on this Color-Counter team.

- Being the second Green Legends Limited to be underwhelming upon release, this one only needed the Unique Equip to deserve the Legends Limited title. Providing a toolbox of a kit, SP SSJ3 Goku GRN has many ways to flip the momentum back into his favor.
- Once again a Fighter who prefers Saiyan Allies to the strained Son Family Support, this Fighter's Z-Ability is much appreciated to his Goku Allies.

- Although both Legendary Finish capable Fighters on this Team prefer Blast over Strike, this one in particular is not so affected by it as not only are both of his Offenses quite high, but SP Angry Goku BLU's kit has proven to be simply too effective in the Game's battle system to the point that he can operate independently and without much synergy to great effectiveness, even at higher levels of play.
- SP Angry Goku BLU's Zenkai Awakened earlier iteration of SP SSJ Goku RED does a lot to alleviate the pressure off of SP Angry Goku BLU from SP Golden Form Frieza GRN, and the rest of Lineage Of Evil, who is this Meta dominating Goku variant's biggest weakness.
Team Discussion
Son Family is an interesting study in synergy. At one point, an entire Son Family Team was released together to compliment a SP SSJ2 Youth Gohan RED during his prime. The Team came with a built in strategy that rewarded the player if they let a Goku variant die first, stacking a multitude of Buffs onto it's remaining Fighters, culminating into a devastating Last Man Standing situation with either of the two best Last Man Standing Fighters in the Game at the time; the aforementioned SP SSJ2 Youth Gohan RED, and SP Super Saiyan Goten PUR.
As new Goku and Gohan variants were released one by one, the pre-packaged Son Family Team fragmented as Fighters were replaced one at a time until we have the Son Family Team that we have today, a collection of powerful single Fighters that looks like a "Greatest Hits" collection of other top Meta Teams. While this allows giants of the Meta to stand shoulder to shoulder on the battlefield, the dwindling Z-Abilities threaten the existence of this Tag as all of it's powerful Fighters prefer the company of other Teams.
This is true for the one Zenkai Awakened Fighter on this Team, SP SSJ Goku RED, who much prefers Saiyan company but can be brought along with his Family to finally retire SP SSJ2 Gohan RED, along with the old Son Family strategy that the latter laid the groundwork for. SP SSJ Goku RED works in the exact opposite theory, providing the Team with a Tank in the early game, and forming powerful partnerships with an entire rainbow of Meta defining Fighters, trading Anti-Regeneration Abilities and a single Fighter focus for strong Anti-Lineage Of Evil Damage Buffs and more strategic options.
