Meta Shift: Rising Girls

Banner Composition

The new Rising Girls Banner follows the Legends Rising formula, featuring three new Fighters and two filler Fighters, with a Daily Discount but no Summon Tickets. The 999 Z Souls mechanic in the first three days for the new Fighters is also a factor and at this point, we should expect it to become standard for Legends Rising Summons from now on.

The three featured Fighter’s Z-Abilities--while decent overall--are not particularly useful until they reach at least 5 stars. However, all of them Buff Female Warriors, which is a good thing if you want to really focus that Team.

SP Youth Bulma BLU is a Support Type Fighter that holds two Blast Cards. Her main role is to Buff the Team by switching to standby--an Ability that has been very powerful for other strong Tags like Super Saiyan and Lineage of Evil.

  • Her base Damage Boost after switching caused by her Assist Unique Ability is higher than SP SSJ Bardock BLU's and SP FF Coora BLU’s, which is a feat that speaks for itself. But higher Boost for her Teammates is balanced by the lack of a self Boost, which is not a huge issue because basically every Ability she has makes switching to standby easier for her.
  • Speaking of switching, she has a very useful Extra Move that force switches her to standby, adds a Dragon Ball, and Boosts Team Damage by 15%, which makes her total switch Buff even more powerful. Also, her Girl Genius Unique Ability shortens her substitution count by 2 by default.
  • Her Main Ability Restores the Health of every Fighter by 10%, and of every Female Warrior Fighter by an additional 10% while also drawing an Ultimate Card. This really incentivizes putting her on a Female Warrior Team.
  • Her stats are a bit on the low side, which is acceptable considering all the Support she provides. However, the fact that she has no Abilities to Buff herself makes it hard for her to be really effective when she’s on the field. This could become a problem if she happens to be the only battle member remaining in a Match.

SP Chi-Chi GRN is a Melee Type Fighter that holds Mixed Arts Cards. She’s a Fighter with a really specific role: perfectly counter every Son Family Fighter while remaining a decent Fighter to use against everyone else.

  • Her Universe’s Strongest Wife Unique Ability Boosts her Damage against every Fighter with the Son Family Tag by 80%. This is absurd for targeting such a popular Tag. SP Kaioken Goku BLU probably won’t last much more than a single combo against this Fighter due to color disadvantage and even for Fighters who aren’t Blue, it’s too dangerous to remain on the field with SP Chi-Chi GRN around.
  • Her Main Ability that draws an Ultimate Card and nullifies color disadvantage is very useful against Fighters like SP SSJ3 Goku PUR.
  • Her Offensive Stats are decent overall, meaning she can hold her own pretty well against everyone. Since Female Warriors now have so many good choices, it’s likely she’ll be kept around just to counter the Son Tag, but she’ll stay on the bench against other Teams. This is fine since her Z-Ability Buffs Strike Defense at three stars and adds Strike Attack as a Buff at five stars.

SP Videl YEL is a Melee Type Fighter that holds two Strike Cards. She’s very similar to SP SSJ2 Caulifla PUR for how high she can get her Strike Damage Buffs.

  • Her Unique Abilities both Buff her Strike Damage. She gets a 30% Buff if there is Female Warrior when Teamed up with Female Warriors with an additional 20% Buff if her Health is below 50%, which is situational but still helpful since she’s a last-man-standing sort of Fighter. If she’s the last Fighter alive, she gets a 50% Strike Damage Buff and against Gohan variants, she gets an additional 20%, which is useful because SP SSJ Gohan YEL is frequently used in Future Teams.
  • Her Main Ability is very powerful by Boosting, Strike Damage by 35%, reducing the cost of Strike Cards by 5 Ki, and Restoring her own Health by 30%. While this conflicts with the Strike Damage Buff she gains when she’s below 50% Health, it’s a small issue since SP Videl YEL has more survivability overall.
  • The Female Warriors Team was lacking decent Yellow Fighters since SP Android #18 YEL got power crept, and SP Videl YEL is a powerful Offensive Fighter and an excellent replacement.

How Rising Girls Changes the Meta

The clearest change is the growth of the Female Warrior Tag. SP Youth Bulma BLU will have a guaranteed spot on the Team since her Buffs make Fighters like SP SSJ2 Caulifla PUR and SP Videl YEL overwhelmingly powerful.

SP Chi-Chi GRN will likely be situational, as SP Mai GRN is more well-rounded and she gives great Support to the Team. However, some Players may think that using her, would be worse than using a more Offensive Fighter, due to the insane Damage Buff given by SP Youth Bulma BLU, who already fills the role of the Support for the Team.

SP Videl YEL was a needed addition for this Team since she covers the prior weakness to Purple Fighters like SP SSJ Broly PUR who is arguably the best Fighter in the game. Despite having protection against unfavorable Elements, this advantage will expire towards the end of the Match and by then, SP Videl YEL will be more than capable to cut through his Health like butter.

Overall, Female Warriors gain a lot of versatility from this Banner and its viability rate will probably grow in PVP since they still don’t have any direct counters and are very Offensive and highly adaptable.

Should You Pull?

If you already have a decent Female Warriors core, pulling from this Banner is not a bad choice since all the new Fighters Synergize and make whoever ends up in the core even stronger.

The 999 Z-Power deal is as always a good value however, it’s worth noting that the filler Fighters in this banner are totally outdated and not worth the Chrono Crystals
