Overview
This tainted world shall come to an end by the hands of Zamsu and his extraordinarily high ATK values. Touting a transformation mechanic with no lore based restrictions--looking at you The True Value of Perfect Form - Cell (Perfect Form) and Awakened True Power - Super Saiyan Gohan (Youth) --Zamasu can deal overwhelming Damage as quickly as the fifth turn. While no Card is perfect, Zamasu is pretty darn close.
The biggest caveats in Zamasu’s toolkit begin to unfold in his final transformation, but what he gains in ATK Buffs balance out any drawbacks. The only thing that should hold back a player from running Zamasu on a Team is a lack of stones and RNG. If you managed to summon Zamasu on a banner, then he is a top pick for nearly all his category Teams.
Strengths
Zamasu blesses the battlefield with a dual Leader Skill that gives Realm of Gods allies +3 Ki & an HP, ATK, and DEF Buff of 170%. Zamasu can also provide Extreme allies +3 Ki and +120% to HP, ATK, and DEF. This Card has easily one of the best Realm of Gods leaders and a phenomenal Extreme leader.
This Card comes with two glorious transformations that exponentially increase Zamasu’s power, and are not locked behind any gimmick conditions. In his base form, Zamasu’s DEF Debuff pairs well with his Passive Skill, which increases ATK by 100%, reduces Damage received by 40% and recovers 7% of HP whenever HP drops below 70%.
Fusion Zamasu continues to tank and heal with a Passive Skill that now grants a 120% ATK Buff, reduces Damage received by 40%, and recovers 10% HP whenever it drops below 80%. Thanks to his Ki Links and Passive Skill providing +2 Ki Fusion Zamasu should have no issue launching his Super ATK for that 50% DEF Debuff.
Mutated Zamasu sacrifices some of his DEF Buffs for extra Damage. Now Zamasu gains a ridiculous 280% ATK Buff, reduces Damage received by 20%, and disables the Enemy’s guard. Zamasu’s Super Attack Debuff now drops DEF by 80%. In his final form, can break through almost anything and players don’t need to worry about blocking Attacks if the Enemy is already dead.
On top of an already impressive toolkit, Zamasu also comes with a great set of Link Skills that only get better when he transforms. With Ki Links “Fear and Faith”, “Fused Fighter”, or the ATK & DEF Links “Big Bad Bosses” and “Fierce Battle”, Zamasu becomes more powerful on Realm of Gods, Potara, and Transformation Boost Teams.
Weaknesses
Mutated Fusion Zamasu is phenomenal, but does come with a small caveat of reducing Super Allies’ ATK by 10%. Truthfully, this is not the worst sacrifice to make for everything Zamasu gains, but players should keep this in mind if they think such a Debuff would hurt their specific Team composition late into a fight.
While Zamasu’s ability to disable guard proves to be useful against TEQ Enemies. This on top of his numerous Buffs and Debuffs means Zamasu may face some resistance in tougher events like Super Battle Road.
The challenge for players comes in deciding whether to sacrifice their Damage reduction Debuff for an increase in ATK, which can always be a gamble. Zamasu can still hit hard, but don’t expect to his Mutated Form to tank as well as his previous Forms.
