From training fodder to decent F2P Card, this new Gohan is a welcomed Dokkan Awakening for an old Card. Gohan has decent ATK & DEF options thanks to his Super ATK, initial ATK & DEF Buff, and becomes even stronger against multiple Enemies, especially Androids.
Unfortunately, this Card’s Passive Skill restrictions dampen this Card’s performance outside of certain conditions, which amplify problems like his low DEF stats. While Gohan is not a replacement for any paid Card, if players need a F2P option this Card is alright in some Dokkan Events but will underperform in much tougher events.
Gohan is not going to stand toe to toe with a Dokkan Festival Exclusive, but for a Free to Play Card he has some decent ATK & DEF options in most fights. No matter the fight Gohan has a 70% ATK & DEF Buff, and a Super ATK that raises ATK & DEF by 30% for 1 turn. If players lack options, this Gohan is a decent free option that can do well under the right Leader.
If players manage to pit this Gohan against 2 or more Enemies he gains an additional 50% ATK & DEF Buff. Likewise, against Androids Enemies Gohan has a 50% chance to perform critical hits. These additional Buffs can make Gohan much more resilient in certain conditions, which can help F2P players in certain Dokkan Events.
Gohan suffers from relatively low stats, even when his Hidden Potential is maximized, with his most concerning stat being his DEF. For a F2P Card, Gohan’s ATK & HP are not terrible, but his DEF is noticeably low, and without a DEF stack Gohan really needs his full Passive Skill Buff to ensure he does not become a detriment.
The most annoying aspect of this Card is the restrictions he has that really hinders his performance. While such restrictions might not be as frustrating on summonable Card, thanks to their notably higher stats, for a F2P Card this is not the case. Gohan has only two Ki Links, each providing +1 Ki and Low DEF Stats, so he needs his full Passive Skill bonuses in order to avoid being knocked around in most events.
Gohan might have some issues in terms of Ki due to his only Ki Links being “Dismal Future” and “Golden Warrior.” These are not hard Ki Links to activate, but they do not provide a lot of Ki, and outside some Teams may be harder to activate often.
If players want to maximize Ki this Card is entirely dependent on his Passive Skill Buffs activating, so regardless of his Team this Card’s performance is dependent on facing two or more Enemies and Androids Enemies.
