Overview
Swapping out his Bow, Formal Joachim is Wind’s first Manacaster adventurer and heralds a new damage-over-time affliction: Stormlash. A solid mix of chip damage and raw burst, Joachim’s kit is clean and straightforward. As Stormlash support is expanded upon moving forward, Joachim is poised to be the primary beneficiary.Â
Always look to chain Skill 2 to Skill 1, as the latter’s damage modifier is doubled when doing so.
Strengths
StormlashÂ
Separate from Poison Res, Stormlash brings additional chip damage without lowering the effective window for Poisoned Punisher setups. A 3000 SP cost is pretty cheap so uptime isn’t generally an issue.Â
Dual PunishersÂ
Having access to two 30% damage boosts immediately places Joachim on the stronger half of the Wind roster.
Weaknesses
Affliction ReliantÂ
Without consistent Stormlash / Poison uptime, Joachim’s damage falls off a cliff. Longer fights like Master Ciella are especially rough without Poison Res support from Formal Noelle.
Dragon Recommendations
Midgardsormr Zero is a solid all-around pick and combo counts are easily maintained from range.
Vayu greatly enhances both of Joachim’s attack skills.Â
Pazuzu synergizes with Joachim’s multiple Poison applications.
