Best Characters for High Brunhilda?

Well, Lily is pretty much, hands down, the best unit for High Brunhilda. She is a staff unit, so she charges her specials really fast, and on top of that, she does a lot of damage with them. Being ranged she's also really safe as a unit. Not to mention, Lily has 100% burn res, so she's going to be protected from that.

When it comes to healers, Thaniel is probably the best option, because of the 100% burn res. Ricardt is a better healer because he gets two heals, but Thaniel will survive much easier and more consistently, and he's still a really good option.

Any unit without burn res is really going to struggle against High Brunhilda because of the DOT burn does, however, it might still be possible.

Like, Xander is pretty much the highest damaging water unit in the game, but not having burn res holds him back a lot for this quest. It would take a lot more investment for him to survive, and quick reaction from the healers whenever Xander gets burned. So even investing on Xander is a really good idea just because of raw damage output.

I only have Xander so I'll have to go with him since I invested a lot in him whether HB is there or not (also my first *5).
If you're using Lily you need to have a really high hp, probably a MUB poseidon which is hard to get.
If it's melee, I guess Xainfried and Orsem easily takes the spot for best.
I'm going to try to get MUB poseidon (I need three more :<) before trying it with Xander

Do you seriously need that much health for High Brunhilda? There's no way they are forcing players to have everything maxed to pretty much be able to survive the first blast, needing over 2700 hp is almost impossible to acquire.

I can already survive High Midgardsormr and do good damage and I don't even have fire ele weapons, and my altars are nowhere near being maxed, plus there is no fire event facility. And I'm just using an Ifrit that's not even MUB, granted, I just need one copy, but still.

Well thats reassuring, all my towers are at lv20 so far and have maxed t2 4* weapons. Would that be good enough besides needing the wrymprint for High Midgardsormr? I do have maxed 4 - 4* characters in flame nearing 40 mana unlock as well. Just need to know so i can actually start working endgame while ive been prepping lol

I run a 4* ele weapon on Vanessa, I barely reached the hp threshold which is a bit over 1500 with the fire altars at lvl 23 and the axe dojos at 14. I think that the threshold without the axe defense buff is around 1600s.

You can check it out with this calculator: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uyx9MRDeE4SnupOtQm2wm2rB2i2aXtMSHdGC908vpGg/edit?usp=drivesdk

but I believe the Brunhilda stats can't be that high, though I can't really test it.

edit: for some reason the link isn't being detected as a link but it should be good.

HBH requirements are much higher than HMS, not a good comparison. This is a good information https://www.reddit.com/r/DragaliaLost/comments/a75spe/high_brunhilda_hbh_overview_on_equipment/

I seriously think there has to be something wrong still, the fact that you can't reach the hp threshold unless you have a Lance user with most of the cast, and seriously being locked to only one specific equipment feels really, really, really dumb. Why are they locking people out of being able to use Lily when they have invested already so much on her? that seems like really bad game design, and feels like so much cash grab because they are basically saying that you need to buy their things. I don't care so much about grinding, but no matter how much you grind, you still 100% of the time need Poseidon for Lily.

It's still possible to reach the HP threshold without MUB Poseidon, but you need a MUB ele weapon and you still need Poseidon to be at 3 unbinds.

Cygames has been really good so far, that they are pulling something like this for the first time really feels scummy.

And then to point out, even with Leviathan, Xainfried can't reach the strength threshold unless he's MUB or there's a Celliera on your team, and since she isn't immune to burn, that's really rough. I'll be sending feedback to Cygames, it's fine that HBH is harder than HMS by a significant margin, but to a this ridiculous point, that's not okay, and at least up HBH's might requirement by 2000 to at least reflect the difficulty spike.

Well I already saw people complaining about this saying that it's more of a cashgrab instead of HMS in which you can grind it away. Personally I'm bummed myself since I invested in Xander, yes I know he doesn't have burn resist since it's obvious that HBH will inflict it but if Naveed and Ezelith are viable in HMS I don't see why Xander can't :/.
The lack of good water healer is a downside itself, I honestly thought they would put one in this banner but nope lol.
Even the new Santa Cleo won't even be viable in HBH seems like joke lol

HBH inflicts burn damage, and has the following HP requirements.
Melee: 2165, Ranged 2705.
Characters that carry Burn Immunity: Xainfried, Orsem, Lily, Winter Nefaria, Thaniel.
Of these, Xainfried is the star, his co-ability helps EVERYONE reach the crazy threshold and allows him to wield a wider range of dragons than other characters. Additionally his Spear's heal is apparently useful for the fight since Thaniel only has 2. Orsem is probably second, his co-ability is Crit, which doesn't help much for other players, but he himself is a damage machine. HBH is freeze immune though. Because of the high HP requirement, Lily & Nefaria need MUB Poseidon and a Xainfried to enter. Lily will lose a bit of damage in this fight since she relies on MAX HP for a skill damage boost, but HBH throws unavoidable attacks and Thaniel is a burst healer. Winter Nefaria is shiny and new and cute, but carries the energy mechanic so her marginally useful barrier skill takes a while to charge and she doesn't have energy building allies. This also results in her carrying only 1 offense skill, compensated only by her skill damage +20%. I thinks she's the weakest choice.

I want to point out, that even though Xainfried is required for the quest because of the crazy HP threshold, he still requires a MUB Leviathan or Dragonyule Jeanne to reach the damage threshold unless you have a Celliera on the team, and Celliera is really risky because she doesn't resist burn well enough. She would need HP well above the threshold.

You could technically use a MUB Vodyanoy but if it takes that much investment still, you might as well start stacking up on those 5* dragons.
