Should You Summon: Bait Dragons Extraordinaire

Honestly, I've seen worst bait.

Disclaimer: The opinions below are written by GamePress and do not actually reflect Nintendo, Cygames, or the fairy Notte's opinions (probably. If they do, it was a coincidence).

Time keeps Dragon on, and I just so happened to put out some bait to lure in a few suckers, I mean, Dragons, for our latest showcase!

Rock the Dragon

You know what’s better than cherry blossoms? Cherry pie! Trust me, I ate some of the blossoms on a bet one time, and they really leave a lot to be desired.

Unfortunately for Konohana Sakuya, her time in the sun is mostly at an end. Much of the Flame roster prefers either Dreadking Rathalos, or in many cases, Apollo to use in a Burn composition. That’s not to say that Konohana is useless, far from it. She’s still an excellent pick up to use for a lot of Adventurers, especially ones who are heavily reliant on skill damage such as Xania or Nobunaga. In the case of Nobunaga, if you’re not in a Burn comp, Sakuya is definitely the best dragon she can be using, though Xania typically prefers Apollo, and in a Burn comp Nobunaga will typically do so as well.

Verdict: Maybe. Sakyua has fallen from being the best Flame dragon, but she’s still solid.

Vayu really blew me away at our last training session. Apparently, he’s been practicing with Hawk to put out a skillful performance!

Currently, Vayu is siming as Hawk’s top choice for a dragon. Since the Wind Meta now consists of Hawk, Hawk, and more Hawk (with Tobias or Noelle on the side) that makes Vayu the perfect Dragon right now, surpassing even 2nd Generation options like Garland. Even also ran Lin You can get a lot of benefit out of Vayu, though she personally prefers Long Long. Other notable Adventurers include Victor, whose Bleed skills really benefit from having a large skill boost.

Verdict: Yes. Vayu is the top dragon for the top Wind pick.

Never mistake Corsaint Phoenix for regular Phoenix. She gets really upset and starts talking about how just because they look similar doesn’t make them the same. That, and she’s not exactly going to save the injured from dying. Guess I’ll only make that mistake once.

When Corsaint Phoenix initially arrived, she was one of the best options for Light. Now, she’s just one of the best non-limited options for Light. Daikokuten is certainly the best pick for anyone who can easily get to and maintain his Flurry conditional, and Cupid remains as popular as ever. If you don’t have either of them, you can do worse than Corsaint, but honestly she’s mostly overshadowed by the other two dragons, save in certain niche circumstances.

Verdict: Maybe. Corsaint Phoenix is certainly a good dragon, it’s just that Cupid’s heal is hard to beat, and Daikokuten offers better raw numbers for many Adventurers.

Final Verdict

About the Rates

This banner is a dragon banner, and as such all Adventurers are drastically rated down.

  • Special 4% rates, tilted towards dragons.
  • Konohana Sakuya, Vayu, and Corsaint Phoenix, share a 2.4% rate and are at .8% each.
  • Non-featured Adventurers are lowered to a .75%, rate, and there are no featured Adventurers.
  • Non-featured dragons 5☆ share a .85% rate.
  • The Ifrit, Roc, and Unicorn share a 7% rate and are at 2.3% rate each.

Final Verdict: No. This is literally right before a Gala.

Honestly, this isn't a terrible Dragon banner. If you're desperate, I could maybe see doing a few pulls, but this is right before the 1.5 Anniversary and a Gala Banner, which are always the best banners to pull on thanks to their improved rates. I'd recommend holding off on any pulls, at least until we see what the Gala features.
