PvE
Generally in PvE content Baal & Sezan are played as support damage dealers. While there are compositions that can try and utilize them as a primary damage dealer, due to their innate inconsistency, it’s best for them to allow for another primary DPS to shine regardless of the content.
Building them with high Speed and Effectiveness will heavily supplement the cooldown of Last Requiem (S3) while Etica’s Scepter is the optimal artifact to keep both Last Requiem and Dark Cloud (S2) off of cooldown. This will help with their Debuff uptime, mitigating the time that the enemy spends Debuffed, all while concurrently increasing Baal & Sezan’s damage output.
Note: Pairing them with a Hero like Tamarinne or Righteous Thief Roozid who can increase their Combat Readiness or increase Speed will also add to these benefits.

Overview
Baal & Sezan are Fire Mages who cripple any enemy before them. Boasting a total of four Debuffs (Poison, Defense Break, Decrease Speed, and Unhealable) allows them to play an offensive supportive role in a way that not many other Heroes offer creating for a variety of playstyles.
Strengths
King Of Debuffs
Baal & Sezan provide a total of 4 potential Debuffs throughout their kit. Decrease Speed, Defense, and Unhealable have up to an 85% chance of being inflicted on an enemy through Last Requiem (S3) while Ghost Haunt (S1) has a 50% chance of inflicting Poison.
Scales with Debuffs
Dark Cloud (S2) not only resets when an enemy is defeated by it, but it also gains a sizable damage increase based on the number of Debuffs enemies possess.
Strong in Golem Hunt
Both Last Requiem (S3) and Ghost Haunt (S1) provide the most important Debuffs you want for this hunt thus making Baal & Sezan a perfect choice to support any Golem team

Reliant on Debuffing
Baal & Sezan’s strengths are also their biggest weaknesses. Due to the nature of how landing Debuffs work only having a maximum chance of 85% to land each of their Debuffs can be a serious issue when you need a specific one to land. It also affects how consistent Dark Cloud (S2) is.
Boss Mechanics
Though Baal & Sezan are theoretically strong in most PvE content many bosses punish your Heroes for being Debuffed or ignore any Debuffs put on them altogether.

Baal & Sezan’s inconsistency is even more apparent when compared to a similarly designed Hero like Dizzy-- who has a 100% initial chance to land her debuffs, while also having a more consistent S2.
