Builds

Shaved Ice

This build is primarily designed for Wyvern 11, but it can be used for other boss content (preferably Fire-elemental), such as Abyss floors or Executioner Karkanis in Raid.

Gear

Alexa is very simple to build:

  • Because her S1 needs to crit in order to hit twice, getting her to 100% Crit Chance is the #1 priority.
  • Because her damage is coming from Daydream Joker and crits, stacking Crit Damage is the obvious next step.
  • The more turns Alexa takes, the more percent damage she does. This is where Speed comes in.
  • Finally, even though Alexa's Poison has 100% affliction rate, it still has to bypass enemy Effect Resistance. Most bosses have 75% Effect Resistance, so building 55% Effectiveness gives Alexa the best chance of landing her Poisons on bosses.

If you have any substats left over, you might be tempted to try and fit Attack on her somewhere. If you're only using Alexa for Wyvern, this is perfect. If you want to take her to other content, however, Attack has much less effect on Alexa's percentage-heavy kit than some survivability would. Consider some HP% instead.

A Speed + Critical set combination is the most generally useful combination for Alexa. As a general rule, Alexa will do more damage by taking more turns to trigger Joker procs and Poison stacks than she will by equipping a Destruction or Rage set.

Artifacts

There's no question that the best Artifact for Alexa is Daydream Joker. If you don't have a Daydream Joker, Alexa can still pull her weight by stacking Poison, but she isn't going to be nearly as effective. No other Artifact, not even the Thief-exclusive Artifacts, will give the kind of damage increase that Daydream Joker will.

Team

Core

This is the textbook Wyvern 11 team. Crozet tanks, Angelica heals, Taranor Guard applies Defense Break, and Alexa rips through the Wyvern like a blizzard of cold steel.

Analysis

Overview

Alexa is one of the best DPS heroes for Wyvern 11. A humble 3★ hero who is available for free through a Connection Quest, her kit is nevertheless perfectly constructed to take advantage of Wyvern's weaknesses and shred him into dragon jerky. It's not just Wyvern, though: with the ability to attack twice on her S1, stack Poison using her S2, and land a respectable nuke with her S3, Alexa can be a surprisingly high-impact hero in any PvE boss content.

Strengths

Synergy with Daydream Joker

Alexa may be one of the most efficient users of the 3★ Artifact Daydream Joker in Epic Seven. Daydream Joker causes a hero to deal percentage damage on all of their attacks, based on their target's maximum HP. This extra damage is also increased on a critical hit, just like a regular attack. Alexa's S1 triggers two hits whenever it crits. This means she not only increases the Joker damage by critting, but then attacks again, landing another blow of percentage damage! With 100% Crit Chance, Alexa's S1 slices through bosses like hot butter.

Multiple Stacks of Poison

Even without a Daydream Joker, Alexa strikes fear into bosses due to the Poison stacks on her S2. With a low 3-turn cooldown, Alexa can apply two stacks of Poison to her target (with 100% chance after Skill Enhancement). Like a Daydream Joker, Poison deals damage to its target based on their maximum HP. Rack up a few stacks of Poison and watch as bosses evaporate.

Free + Low-Investment

In addition to being one of the free heroes in Epic Seven due to her Connection Quest, Alexa is a 3★ hero, making her very easy to pull from the Covenant Summon. Being a 3★ hero also means she uses Stigma for Skill Enhancement rather than the much rarer Molagora resource, making her easy to enhance. On top of that, Alexa doesn't need rare Artifacts to do her job: all she needs is a Daydream Joker and she's set for life.

Weaknesses

Only Good Vs High-HP Enemies

Alexa's preference for Daydream Joker and prowess with Poison are perfect for putting PvE bosses in the ground, but it's a poor combination for other content. While she can be very strong in Hunts, Abyss, and Raids, she's not very efficient in other locations, especially PvP, where she is at a massive disadvantage due to the comparatively low HP of enemy heroes. Even in content where she is good against the boss (especially Abyss and Raid), she can have trouble with the non-boss enemies before the boss encounter, especially because...

Very Fragile

Alexa has atrocious HP and Defense. She must be protected by tanks and support heroes or she won't survive long in most encounters. This is one of the reasons she's so good in Wyvern 11: Wyvern 11's A.I. only targets the first hero in the party, so Alexa can easily stay out of danger. However, in other content, she's constantly at risk of dying to a stray hit. (Or possibly a stray breeze.)
