This build provides one of the strongest openers for PvP cleave teams. By Stunning up to two enemies, you are creating breathing space for your team and potentially locking out a strong DPS. Even after his opener, he is strong with a 75% provoke chance on Heroic Strike. This will allow your team to gain large amounts of CR by provoking the enemy Soul Weaver or support, locking them out of support skills. G. Purrgis is a good option for an opener, but with the rise of Immunity sets in PvP, may suffer without a way to dispel opponents’ first-turn immunity.

He has strong synergy with any resurrection/immortality buff, since it will maintain his CR gain, and any AoE cleave that can take advantage of his ATK buff - Clarissa, Vildred, and so on. He can be good with Bellona or any fast AoE defense break with some Speed tuning. Other DPS will depend on your team composition, but he eases ATK buff requirements for your team.

It’s About How Hard You can GET Hit

This build provides very strong CR gain for the entire team, provided he is hit. He also requires a combination of tanky stats (~20k HP, ~14k DEF; this only ensures that he survives; good DPS is already required as Wyvern damage ramps strongly), and healing to keep him alive long enough to kill the boss. Wyvern 11 guarantees that you will be hit a minimum of 3 times per turn. This provides 45% CR to the entire team, including himself (although he will lose CR each time he is hit, so he will gain CR much slower. He gains no CR at all if his S2 is not leveled at least once. At max skillup on S2, he will gain a total of 15% CR.)

Good synergy with Angelica or any other strong healer. These units can keep him topped off long enough for other DPS to kill the boss. Angelica can stop his CR from being reduced by the Wyvern and also provides sizeable heals. Must have strong Ice DPS options for Wyvern 11, though for any other content, he can be paired with all other DPS.

Analysis

Overview

General Purrgis is a strong PvP opener or an excellent lategame PvE tank on single-target boss fights (specifically for Wyvern 11).
The latter build requires him to be very tanky and is NOT an early-game build. Strong teamwide CR gain remains one of his main advantages in both modes though, provided he is hit and activates Spearhead.
His guaranteed 2-man stun in PvP, along with his teamwide Attack Up buff, makes him ideal for cleave team compositions.

Strengths

Strong S3 opener

Command to Charge is excellent in PvP with a 75% - 100% chance to stun 2 units at +4 Enhancement. It also provides a team-wide Attack buff.

Team-wide Combat Readiness  

The team gains 10-15% CR whenever G. Purrgis is attacked.

Tanky, yet speedy

He has enough Speed to go before most Soul Weavers, yet is still tanky.

Anti-Cleave

He can interrupt a sweep if he gets hit, and the team is pushed ahead of opponents. 

Weaknesses

No CR gain if knocked out

G. Purrgis doesn’t boost CR on the hit that kills him (mostly applicable to PvP).

S3 Stun is random

The Stun may not hit the optimal targets.

May be outsped

Diene or ML Chloe may outspeed G. Purrgis if he is not speed tuned well (within 1 point of each), and a shift toward immunity sets may weaken him in the future meta.

Debuffs also do not work on most bosses.

Command to Charge’s attack buff requires heavy souls to upkeep.
