Gear

Because Guider Aither's damage, barrier, and (in a roundabout way) healing all scale off Attack, it's good to build him with as much Atk% and damage potential as possible. The balance with Guider Aither is putting enough raw Attack into him that his barrier can keep him alive, but also fitting in a lot of damage boosts to maximize his DPS and healing. Pile on the Atk%, Crit Chance, Crit Damage, and Speed to the max.

Early in the game, an Attack set paired with a Critical set is probably going to be the best gear setup for Guider Aither. However, later on, when you have better tanks and healers to help keep him alive, you may want to sacrifice barrier power for a Destruction + Critical setup, which will result in better DPS. Alternately, if you're equipping him with the Kal'adra Artifact and running him alongside a strong debuffing ally like Basar or Silver Blade Aramintha, you might also want to double down on the ailment game with a Rage set instead.

Artifacts

In a vacuum, the Kal'adra Artifact is going to give Guider Aither the best DPS increase. It's probably the best option for PvP in particular. However, if you're taking Guider Aither into more prolonged battles, an even better option might be Etica's Scepter. The constant cooldown reduction can allow Guider Aither to cycle his skills very quickly. This not only means more buffs, but a lot more DPS overall, as the damage ratios on Guider Aither's S2 and S3 are much higher than his S1.

If you don't have either of those Artifacts, a decent budget option is the Grail of Blood, which extends his survivability with a lot of passive healing based off his high Attack power.

Analysis

Overview

A hero whose viability is as hotly discussed as his gender, Guider Aither has an interesting niche in Epic Seven. He is a supportive off-healer and buffer... who dispenses his healing and buffs by nuking the living hell out of the enemy team. With the inclusion of his Exclusive Equipment, he can support his allies in either a defensive or offensive way, spreading barriers or Attack buffs to his team (and, as a side effect, vaporizing his unlucky opponents with massive amounts of spirit power).

Strengths

High DPS

All three of Guider Aither's skills deal substantial amounts of single-target damage. When you need a hero to disintegrate a single key target, Guider Aither is ideal for the job (especially if the target in question is Dark-elemental).

Causes Slow (Can Stun Too)

Having debuffs as a Mage hero is more important than it sounds. One of the biggest damage boosts a Mage hero can get is the Kal'adra Artifact, which increases damage dealt when the target has a debuff. Because Guider Aither's S1 causes Slow and his S3 can cause Stun with Exclusive Equipment, Guider Aither can enable his own Kal'adra usage. This is important, because Guider Aither's healing scales with his DPS. Speaking of which....

Off-Healing (Based on DPS)

Guider Aither's S3 is not just a nuke: it's also an AOE heal and a 2-turn Continuous Healing buff after Awakening. Best of all, the healing done scales off the damage Guider Aither deals with the skill, and Guider Aither's S3 has a monstrous damage multiplier, allowing it to heal for quite a lot.

Multiple Buffs

On his own, Guider Aither can give himself a barrier (with his S2) and give his team Continuous Healing (with his S3). With Exclusive Equipment, he can extend his S2 barrier to protect his entire party, or he can add an AOE Attack buff to his S3. Both are valuable buffs to have; in fact, an AOE Attack buff is often vital for clearing high-end content.

Easy Devotion Aura

Guider Aither is a Moonlight 4★ hero, so pulling him is quite rare. However, his regular Aither counterpart is a common 3★ Ice hero who is very easy to pull from the regular Covenant Summon. Fusing regular Aithers with Guider Aither increases his Devotion Aura, making Guider Aither one of the easier Moonlight heroes to SSS. (This is particularly good because his Concentration effect is giving himself Atk%, which stacks wonderfully with his damage, his barriers, and his healing.)

Weaknesses

Slow and Fragile

Guider Aither has acceptable Defense and sky-high Attack, but his other stats are sadly lacking. Low Health makes it difficult to keep him alive against the Dark-element enemies he is most effective against, and low Speed hampers his combat performance. Without protection from the rest of his party and possibly a CR-pusher to help him get more turns, Guider Aither can struggle in battle.

Has to Choose Exclusive Equipment

The effects on Guider Aither's Exclusive Equipment (AOE barrier, AOE Attack buff, and ST Stun) are all quite powerful. However, because they are all Exclusive Equipment, Guider Aither must choose one of the three for any given battle. Having the option for any of the three effects is still very useful, but he is always sacrificing two in order to use the third.

Lacks Uniqueness

The earlier you pull Guider Aither, the more helpful he's likely to be to your team. Guider Aither is very strong, and he occupies a very useful space as a combination healer/ DPS hero. However, there are many cases where it's better to have a strong healer and a strong DPS in your team composition rather than trying to squash the two roles into one hero. Early on, when your hero roster is more limited, Guider Aither can occupy many slots in your party and relieve a lot of team-building pressure. If you pull him late in your Epic Seven career, however, you may have difficulty finding a good reason to add him to your roster.
