Analysis

Overview

Clarissa is a strong farmer, and, with some gearing, a good candidate for either Wyvern or PvP. She has one of the lowest CD’s for a very strong S3, paired with a very high ATK value and her Rage passive, which activates when an enemy is slain. Using her in Wyvern requires some speed investment.

Strengths

Strong S3 with low cooldown

Hysteric is a very strong S3 with Bleed, and can attain a short 3-turn CD with some investment. Excellent for stacking debuffs on Wyvern with some assists.

Excellent Farmer

Due to her ability to crush an enemy, then see the rest of the enemies driven before her, she is an absolute destroyer of fodder.

Bleed Synergy

Any team focused on bleed will benefit from the easy teamwide bleeds inflicted by Hysteric.

Rage Buff

Her unique buff stacks with any other source of ATK Up, and increases Speed (minor). This is significant because she has the 11th highest attack in the game, and the buff helps to push her middling speed to the next level.

Weaknesses

Squishy for a Warrior

Without a little bit of health, Clarissa is vulnerable to spike damage.

Spacing S3

Getting Rage before using her S3 can be difficult and makes for an awkward rotation.

Not Light/Dark

Her Arena cleave potential may suffer with enemy Earth units on the field.

Mediocre Speed

Without CR push support, Clarissa will often lag behind important targets, and she requires SPD boot investment for Wyvern or other bosses.

Builds

Dragonslayer, Destroyer of World

This build provides good damage on Wyvern, as well as potent debuffs to prevent his tank-buster attacks. Do note that she requires a minimum of main SPD boots to prevent Wyvern from lapping her often and reducing her potential as a DPS. While she is not good as a primary source of DEF Down, she is good at assisting and supplementing a primary breaker. Getting two bleed stacks on Wyvern with her S3 is very strong at the beginning of the Wyvern fight, provided she has her Rage buff carried over from the first wave. This build also ensures that she will cleave enemies often, and hard, in general World farming - use Daydream Joker for Wyvern, and Sigurd Scythe for general farming sustain.

Team

Core

Clarissa has strong synergy with Taranor Guard or any unit who will guarantee her assist (Tamarinne and so on). Both she and Taranor Guard have somewhat low values on their DEF breaks and will appreciate each others’ assists. Since she is somewhat slow, his teamwide CR buffs will help to push her turns faster, as well as improve their DEF break consistency. Clarissa also appreciates ATK buffs, which only improve her massive attack value. Diene is also a strong option with her constant ATK buff uptime.

Church of Violence

This build provides excellent cleave potential for PvP, provided that she can live long enough to get her AoE off. It is important that she be babied and fed as much ATK, Crit% chance, and CR as possible (and of course, kept alive). If you can do all of these things, Clarissa is capable of one-shotting a majority of the cast, which will guarantee her S2 cleave and complete the sweep. If she doesn’t kill anyone with the initial S3, her monstrous ATK value may still see them bleed out before their turn even begins, so don’t ignore giving her a modicum of Eff%.

Auxiliary Lots provides the best synergy for Clarissa, as he grants an instant turn -- negating her mediocre speed -- and providing ATK Up. Other good synergies are CR pushers such as Judith, SC Roozid, or Requiemroar (the last of which applies DEF down for easier kills and Rage procs). Clarissa also appreciates AoE Def down, as it will greatly ease the requirements to kill at least one enemy with Hysteric. Pairing a Mage who has Tagehel’s Ancient Book (even at no limit breaks) will allow her to Soul Burn Hysteric, clinching the sweep much more often. For this reason, Hurado is also an excellent teammate, as he can push back the enemy team and negate the effects of their CR pusher, if they have one.
