Sacrificial Bait
Arena Offense
Place Sven in the front row of your party formation and equip him with maximum-DPS gear: Atk%, Crit Chance, and Crit Damage. His Spd isn't very important (one of the few times anyone can ever say that in Epic Seven) since all he needs is one turn, but Effect Resistance is, because debuffs disable Sven completely. Complete his gear with an Attack or Destruction set and a Critical set (or possibly an Immunity set) and either the Sword of Morning or the Exorcist's Tonfa.

Team

The goal with this setup is for Clarissa, Mercedes, and Cidd to output as much damage as they can to soften up the enemy team. Sven needs to have less maximum HP than any of them so that he will be targeted first by the A.I., who should see his Dark element and low HP as weakness. Once Sven's Immortality is triggered, have him launch his S3. It should either kill the entire enemy team in one swell foop, or it should leave just a few stragglers who can be wiped up by Clarissa or Mercedes.
This kind of strategy won't work against all Arena teams, nor will it continue working into higher grades of the Arena, but it can be an excellent way to cheese lower-level Arena setups.
Abs of Steel
General
If you really like Sven and continue using him later in your Epic Seven career, you can abandon the gimmicky sacrifice strategy and build him into more of an executioner-bruiser. This build for Sven can even have some PvE application, especially against bosses that you don't want to be using debuffs on, like the Juleeve Council in the Azmakalis Raid.
Sven is one of the few characters who has a concrete reason to want a Lifesteal gear set, which gives him a chance to heal himself after hitting 1 HP and triggering his passive. Pair that with a Critical set and fill his substats with Atk%, HP%, Crit Damage, and Spd (since we want him getting more than one attack in a battle this time, yes, he needs Spd).
Despite the HP% and Lifesteal, Sven is still going to be pretty squishy due to his terrible Def. As such, he loves an Artifact that gives him some evasion. Violet Talisman and Moonlight Dreamblade are preferred because they also increase Sven's attack power. Avoid Shepherds of Chaos; it might sound appealing at first because Sven can hit 1 HP, but even 40% evasion isn't enough to do you any good at 1 HP.

Team

This is a sample team designed for fighting the Juleeve Council. None of these characters cause debuffs that the Juleeve Council can be affected by, so they won't be reflected back at your team, and the ailments the Council causes on its own can be cleansed by Lilias or Destina. Destina of course handles healing, and Blood Blade Karin and Sven are two massive sources of powerful Dark-elemental damage that can rip the Light-elemental Council to shreds.

Analysis
Overview
If you enjoy manipulating the A.I. in Epic Seven PvP, then Sven is a hero you can have a lot of fun using. Sven is similar in many ways to Kayron -- both of them deal more damage when low on health and have a passive that lets them turn Immortal for one turn when their HP should be reduced to 0. However, Sven is Dark-element, while Kayron is Fire-element. This means that a 1-HP, Immortal Sven is going to be the number-one priority for any A.I.-controlled hero, since he is neutral to their element and they have no chance of missing him.
Strengths
Cheats Death
If you've ever fought a Sven in Arena, the fact that he stays alive for a turn after he ought to be dead is probably the main thing you remember about him. This has all kinds of applications in Arena, from turning Sven's "damage increases as health decreases" S3 into a massive AOE nuke to allowing Sven to confuse the hell out of the enemy A.I.
High Damage Output
Not only does Sven's passive make him Immortal, but it also applies an Atk buff to the user when activated. Sven's S1 and S3 become stronger at lower health, but with the Atk buff added on top of that bonus, Sven can really tear up the field. Wait until Sven's passive has been triggered, then unleash Capital Punishment to annihilate the enemy team.
3★ Hero
As a 3★ hero, Sven is comparatively easy to promote and Skill Enhance. As a DPS hero, Sven is particularly lucky to use Stigma instead of Molagora to Skill Enhance. DPS heroes want to squeeze every last bit of damage out of their attacks, and therefore they want to Skill Enhance their attacks to maximum level for maximum efficiency -- which is a lot easier if you use Stigma to do it.
Weaknesses
No Buffs/ Debuffs
Sven is a very selfish character. He has no buffs or debuffs that can benefit his team; all he really brings to the table is damage, when lots of other characters can bring damage as well as game-changing buffs or debuffs.
Easily Countered
To unleash Sven's true potential, you not only need to be facing a very specific enemy composition, but you need circumstances to fall together in a very specific way. Sven's strategy can easily be undone by AOE damage, most cleave teams, buff stealing or dispelling getting rid of his Immortality, or just about any restraining or damage-lowering debuff like Hit chance reduction, Attack Break, Sleep, or Stun.
