Counterattacking Bruiser

Combining Purrgis' passive ability with a counter set grants him up to a 50% chance to trigger with an AOE counterattack that can also apply speed decreasing debuffs on enemies. This makes him a potent threat in PvP, especially against cleave teams, as long as Purrgis is built with enough HP and Defense to survive the first couple turns.

Lifesteal Bruiser

Equipping Purrgis with a lifesteal set improves his survivability, allowing him to recover a decent chunk of health with each counter attack. However, this build still requires high HP and Defense stats to ensure that he doesn't get killed in one shot.

Analysis

Overview

Purrgis is a powerful bruiser with decent AOE damage potential that specializes in counterattacking. As an earth warrior, he works well in Banshee hunts and against certain raid and Abyss bosses. In Arena and Guild wars, Purrgis can be built to withstand attacks from heavy single-target fire heroes while dishing out frequent counterattacks to punish your opponents.

Strengths

Counter attacking specialist

Purrgis’s biggest strength is his unique AOE counterattacking passive that can also slow enemies. Equipped with a lifesteal set or the Sigurd Scythe artifact, he can siphon back a good chunk of health with each counter attack. He can also be equipped with a counter set to maximize his offensive counterattacking potential.

Good AOE damage for Banshee Hunts

The majority of Purrgis’ abilities focus on doing AOE damage through counterattacks and Final Blow. As an earth hero, he can be a decent front-line damage dealer for Banshee hunts, where his counterattacks can help wipe out the summoned Mistychains.

Weaknesses

Counter attacker without provokes

While Purrgis can bait enemies into attacking him in PvE when positioned in the front, it is difficult for him to bait enemies in PvP. Especially in Arena and Guild Wars defense, opponents can simply choose to ignore him and attack other targets instead, as he poses little threat without his counterattacks.

Lacks survivability

For a bruiser, Purrgis lacks defensive abilities in his kit to help him survive repeated attacks. This puts a heavier requirement on his gear and skill upgrades in order for Purrgis to be effective, and often his damage potential must be traded off to ensure survivability.
