Support Bruiser

Building a Designer Lilibet can be both easy and hard. Easy because not a lot of heroes contest her for Def% heavy gear, hard because since those gears are so niche, players tend to not keep them very often, especially for counter and crit set, where Lilibet will shine the most.

The #1 thing to watch out for when building her is to make sure she is speed tuned to go ahead of your turn 2 team after her 40% CR boost from passive. For most players, this lands her around 180 speed or more.

After speed tuning, the rest can go into giving her decent Def%, CritC%, CDmg%, and a little bit of HP% just to keep her effective HP high.

Sets

The best set ML Lilibet is counter set. While the damage is alright and the silence could come in clutch, it is the combination of the 2 on top of giving her 25 fighting spirit where the counter value really shines. A secondary set that will really help is crit since most players are used to farming Wyvern and most likely have a surplus of crit set gear.

As an alternative to counter set, speed set can work as well and would give players a higher yield on their stat spread. Its main advantage over counter is simply its accessibility through Wyvern and it providing a stat that will never hurt a player.

Artifacts

Durandal - is one of more flexible artifacts and can help players compensate on speed if their counter set come up short timetimes. Against a control comp which usually feature plenty of AoE chip damaging Lilibet, it's usually going to provide value no matter what.

Sigurd's Scythe - focuses more on the bruiser aspect of Lilibet's kit. Half of the effect is wasted since her ATK scaling is very poor but the healing gives her more stickiness against control teams for players who often don't draft healers.

Draco Plate - is an okay substitute as it grants more stickiness and a bit more damage. It doesn't bring anything game changing to the table but gives a healthy boost to consistency of the hero.

Team

Core

This would be an example of a solid team to run Designer Lilibet with against heavy control. Lilibet here would help counter and stall the control while Diene buffs and sustains, Landy does the damage, and Lilias can provide another layer of innate safety against the debuffs and utility to help the DPS heroes.

Analysis

Overview

Designer Lilibet is a 5* warrior released amidst the resurgence of control heroes in the meta. ML Lilibet’s main role is a debuff clearing hero both for herself and her team. Her main strength compared to other heroes of this role is that her self-cleanse is passive, meaning she has a much greater build diversity available to her at the cost of it being tied to fighting spirit, meaning she can be outplayed by more astute opponents. Compared to her contemporary, Fighter Maya, ML Lilibet is less of a damage threat vs control teams and acts more as a supporter for her own team with the ability to deal moderate damage on the side thanks to her build versatility. This makes her an ideal turn 2 hero and a valuable counter-initiating piece especially against control teams.

Strengths

Passive Self Cleanse

As mentioned, passive self cleanse is possibly the most reliable form of anti-control in the game (see T. Surin) as she is essentially immune to RNG elements such as Abyssal Crown or silence procs from Sira-Ren that resistance based cleansers sometimes suffer from, giving her a solid level of reliability. This also alleviates her need for resistance as a main stat and lets her run other stats into her build.

Defense Damage Scaling

Combined with the above point, ML Lilibet becomes a solid bruiser with moderate damage as the freedom from building resistance allows her to flex in crit chance and crit damage as potential substats, making her not only sticky on the field against control teams, but also has a solid chance to knock out squishier control heroes.

Solid Team Utility

Having a -1 turn cooldown pushback baked into her S3 synergizes extremely well with her turn 2 playstyle and often helps disrupt game play for control teams that no longer have their turn 1 immunity. Paired with her silence and passive CR gain, she can cycle decently well and provide high value in disruption and counter-disruption in a longer fight.

Weaknesses

Mediocre Damage

In testing, the first thing to be noticed was that ML Lilibet’s damage leaves quite a bit to be desired, partially due to missing molagoras and partially due to her almost needing a defense buff which is not self contained in her kit as opposed to Fighter Maya. This means unless players really overcompensate in draft and in gearing, Lilibet’s main role will be a support with moderate damage.

Timing Reliant

As her passive’s activating condition is 100 fighting spirit and that ramps with her attacks and debuffs sticking on her team, one issue players could run into in content such as RTA is better players staggering debuffs to bait out her passive, then hard CC’ing her once the fighting spirit is gone to cheese her passive CR boost timing, similar to how T. Surin can be put into stealth range, and then knocked back out of stealth when good players hold AoE skills against her.

Niche Hero

In testing, ML Lilibet comes across as a Politis type niche hero: too good against what they’re designed for and underwhelming outside of that niche. While that is perfectly fine from a game design perspective, as a user, my experience with them has been these heroes only pickable into their niche (ML Lilibet into control, Politis into Cleave), and then will proceed to be immediately post-banned in RTA. As a user and someone who’s put a lot of investment into said heroes, this type of situation just doesn’t feel too good. However, these types of interaction opens the player up to the ability to run 4 heroes of their choosing into the enemy team since these niche counter type heroes will usually draw a ban.
