Exocraft Now Available on Android and Apple Devices

exocraft
  • Popular top-down spaceship mining/shooter launches on Android/Apple
  • Successful launch on Steam led to widening the availability
  • Full cross-play potential with PC
  • Build ships, send drones, mine asteroids, shoot opponents, team up for intergalactic domination

For those who grew up in an age of arcade games like Galaga, this top-down spaceship game with full 360-degree movement was built just for you. Exocraft brings the MMO elements of mobile games today into space, as you build custom spaceships, mine valuable asteroid resources, send out drones, and combine forces with your friends to secure your own little corner of the universe.

From the developer (James Simpson) at GoldFire Studios:

“Exocraft has its roots in simple IO games like Slither.io and Agar.io but it grew to be something much bigger. We wanted to create the next evolution of the genre with persistent progression, gameplay depth and an extensive community element that spanned across every platform/device.”

And it’s true. Exocraft offers seamless integration between players on Android, Apple, and PC devices via Steam. The game initially launched on Steam and had enough success to warrant the expanded development into the mobile gaming space.

Another interesting aspect of Exocraft is the world itself. It grows and shrinks based on the number of players involved, ensuring everyone is competing for the same resources and forced to bump into one another, regardless of how many players are actually playing the game. It’s a cool feature, and an interesting way to deal with the overcrowding or undercrowding of a massive map in the midst of space.
