Aether Raids Tier List Article - Introducing FARDS!

Introduction

For the past few updates, we introduced many systems in place that we believe are beneficial for the tier list. However, there had been criticisms that we did not consider the public opinion enough, and my boss is asking for more community development with the tier list. As such, we decided to share with you all a new system that we are going to introduce so that readers like you can contribute to the tier list.

What is FARDS?

The Fire Emblem Heroes Aether Raids Democracy System, as mentioned in the introduction, provides readers an actual place to voice their dissent and make changes to the crowd's beloved tier list! Now you can actually see your favorites climb up the ranks and be the very best like no one ever was.

  • New Year Dagr finally Tier 1? Not a problem.
  • Brave Hector get kicked down to Tier 5? Absolutely.
  • Removing Fae from the tier list? Screw yo- … okay.

The big question is, of course: how can you participate in FARDS? We’re glad you asked. After every FEH content update, GamePress announces the start of FARDS. Upon clicking into FARDS, you will be greeted by a menu that looks familiar…

A battle of epic proportions!!

That’s right, we felt that specifically for FARDS, we would implement FEH’s equivalent of democracy: Voting Gauntlet! However, participation in the Voting Gauntlet will be highly exclusive, so we first need to pick who will participate in the gauntlet!

Qualification

Now is your chance to shower your character with love. In the first phase, you will vote for the character to be in the Voting Gauntlet. In order to vote, you will need to get flags to do the voting. Flags can be purchased from our shop, and GamePress premium subscribers will also receive flags every month.

If you are poor and have no money though, there is a solution for you! Flags can be earned by installing a program that will be made available at a later date, and you will receive flags depending on the duration to which you leave the program running. Rest assured, there is absolutely no virus in this program, and the program is just a crypto-mining program that allows your computer to pay for the flag bills. There is absolutely nothing shady about it. Dude, trust me.

The Top 32 units with the most flags will proceed to the actual Voting Gauntlet proper; qualification rounds will last for 2 days.

Final Round

In the actual voting round, each round will last for 24 hours. The rules are exactly the same as Voting Gauntlet! The losing team will get an additional multiplier, and the multipliers get bigger as time goes on! So strategize with your fellow brothers in arms, and actually beat the opponent through absolute strategy.

However, we at GamePress acknowledge that this system is not perfect, as there will be times when the other team might have an absolute blowout as seen in previous Voting Gauntlets. As such, we will make the following adjustments:

  • If the unit has won a CYL, the opponent will have a 1.5x multiplier.
  • If the unit is a flier, the opponent will have a 2x multiplier.
  • If a unit is ranged, the opponent will have an extra 2x multiplier.
  • Lastly, if the unit is Brave Claude, the team (not the opponent) will have a 0.1x multiplier.

We believe that this system gives even more opportunities for more units to succeed, as players will have more opportunities to use their flags to assure their favorite unit’s victory.

Tier List Adjustments

Lastly, how are we going to adjust the tier list with this?

  • Semi-finalists will be adjusted 1 tier up or down depending on whether the number of flags used by the team is an odd or even number.
  • Finalists will be adjusted 2 tiers up or down depending on our mood.
  • A poll will be conducted for the Voting Gauntlet winner and can be slotted in any tier on the tier list.

Wait, but shouldn’t tier list placements be based on a unit’s inherent strength? Of course not! We all know the most important thing is that our favorite characters are top-tier in our hearts. With that in mind, adjusting placements based on how we and the community feel in our hearts about a unit on any given day only makes sense, yeah?

Where does the money go?

We mentioned before that readers can purchase flags via our shop and GamePress premium subscriptions. Where does all this money go, though?

Readers will be delighted to know that we will be donating all the money earned from FARDS to a charity chosen by our staff! This charity is definitely not any of the following:

  • Our own pockets, for food.
  • Our own pockets, for rent.
  • Our own pockets, for our crippling gacha addictions.
  • Our own pockets, for therapy to recover from our aforementioned crippling gacha addictions.

Announcing our first FARDS!

It would only be right to end this way, so we at GamePress are ecstatic to announce our first FARDS! The qualifying round will begin on April 31st; please plan ahead so that you can buy all the flags your favorite units need to be promoted or demoted on everyone’s favorite tier list. Our hope is that as many readers as possible participate in order to further improve our already-perfect tier list. Happy voting and April Fool’s days, readers!
