Boons

  • +ATK: Increasing Halloween Mia’s Attack will increase both her damage output as well as her healing output, making it a highly efficient choice of boon.

  • +SPD: With 34 base Speed, a +SPD boon will allow Halloween Mia to more reliably double her opponents while avoiding getting doubled herself (particularly if she has access to flier buffs).

Neutral

  • RES: Halloween Mia’s has just enough Resistance that she can make decent usage of Ploys if desired. +RES is not recommended because +ATK and +SPD are significantly better (though +RES is useful if neither of those are available), while -RES is not recommended due to it being a superbane (-4 to the stat), though in practice this isn’t super detrimental since Halloween Mia can prevent counterattacks thanks to Dazzling Staff.

Banes

  • -DEF: Since Halloween Mia can prevent Distant Counter users from counterattacking with Dazzling Staff, a -DEF bane isn’t super detrimental to her survival, though she will need to be careful with ranged physical attackers like archers and dagger users.

  • -HP: While this isn’t ideal due to lowering both physical and magical bulk, ultimately Halloween Mia’s bulk isn’t a significant concern due to her mobility and ability to negate counterattacks.

  • Preferred IVs: +ATK or +SPD / -DEF or -HP

  • Weapon: Dazzling Witchy Wand+ / Dazzling Pain+ / Dazzling Gravity+

  • Assist: Recover+

  • Special: Windfire Balm+ / Miracle

  • Passive A: Atk/Spd Bond / Atk/Spd Solo / Atk/Spd Push / Spd/Res Bond / Attack +3

  • Passive B: Wrathful Staff / Dazzling Staff

  • Passive C: Hone Fliers / Guidance / Savage Blow / Flexible

  • Sacred Seal: Flier Formation / Guidance / Savage Blow / Live to Serve

Thanks to Halloween Mia’s fantastic mobility and decent offenses, she can be an effective user of the Dazzling/Wrathful Staff combo, which effectively turns her into a ranged, magical Firesweep user. This is the reason why her bulk doesn’t really matter too much in practice, as she can easily avoid getting counterattacked. There is no difference between running Wrathful Staff as a B skill and a Dazzling Staff refined weapon or vice versa, so the choice is entirely dependent upon the availability of either Wrathful Staff or Dazzling Staff for Skill Inheritance.

Halloween Mia’s base weapon, Witchy Wand, can be incredibly effective in Arena by completely shutting down the enemies’ ability to charge and activate their Specials. However, it is not objectively better than other alternative options like Pain and Gravity; ultimately the choice is a matter of preference since all of them offer powerful utility. Keep in mind that if running Pain, then Savage Blow as both a C skill and Sacred Seal is a good idea in order to maximize the amount of damage inflicted.

Halloween Mia’s Assist and Special are also completely up to preference. Her base Recover works fantastically with her flier mobility, particularly if making use of fliers’ unique mobility-based skills like Guidance or Flier Formation, due to it being very easy for Mia to end up right next to her allies. Windfire Balm is a powerful buff that allows for a bit more flexibility in positioning since it mimics the effect of Hone Fliers but without the positioning requirement. However, both Recover and Windfire Balm can easily be replaced without impacting Halloween Mia’s effectiveness.

Atk/Spd Bond is ideal for Halloween Mia, as her flier mobility makes it rather easy to ensure that she is next to an ally (even when initiating). Atk/Spd Solo offers more offensive stats with a fairly easy to meet condition; however, it is not synergistic with mobility skills like Flier Formation so it’s best to utilize other Sacred Seal options. Alternatively, Atk/Spd Push offers identical stat bonuses but without the positioning requirement. However, due to the post-combat damage and the 100% HP requirement, it works best when paired with the Live to Serve Seal. Finally, Halloween Mia’s base Spd/Res Bond or even a simple Attack +3 are both acceptable options for budget purposes.

Halloween Mia’s C skill and Sacred Seal are highly flexible. Since she works best in flier teams, her base Hone Fliers and the Flier Formation Seal allow her to further support her team as well as accentuate her mobility in order to allow her to more easily activate a Bond skill. Outside of flier teams, Guidance is exceptionally useful (either as a C skill or Seal) to boost the mobility of infantry or armored allies. If running Pain, then Savage Blow is extremely effective as stacking the area damage can heavily cripple enemy teams. The Live to Serve Seal is fantastic for maintaining Halloween Mia’s sustain and is particularly strong if she is using Atk/Spd Push. Finally, since Halloween Mia has passable Resistance, either her C skill, Sacred Seal, or both can be filled by any combination of Ploys based on preference.

  • Special: Windfire Balm+ / Heavenly Light

  • Passive A: Atk/Res 2 / Atk/Spd Bond / Spd/Res Bond

  • Passive C: Spd Ploy / Hone Fliers / Savage Blow / Flexible

  • Sacred Seal: Live to Serve / Atk Ploy / Savage Blow / Flexible

As this is a fully support-oriented set, the IVs don’t make a huge difference. For the sake of optimization, however, +ATK will improve Halloween Mia’s healing and slightly improve her damage while +RES will improve her ability to land Ploys.

Since this is a full support set, Halloween Mia’s weapon should be chosen based purely on utility as she won’t be able to inflict significant damage without Wrathful Staff. The Dazzling Staff refine is recommended to keep her safe while applying her weapon’s effect. As mentioned in the previous build, Halloween Mia’s base Witchy Wand is exceptionally powerful. Pain and Gravity are always strong contenders as well.

Atk/Res 2 is chosen to improve upon Halloween Mia’s base Resistance stat, as getting additional Resistance from a Bond or Solo skill won’t affect her ability to land Ploys. Otherwise, a Bond skill like Atk/Spd Bond or her base Spd/Res Bond can be helpful by slightly increasing Halloween Mia’s damage output as well as increasing her Speed to keep her a bit safer should she get attacked by a mage.

Wings of Mercy grants Halloween Mia a big boost in mobility, as well as synergizing nicely with her ability to heal since it allows her to easily get next to the allies who need healing the most. In flier teams, Flier Formation can mimic the effect of Wings of Mercy somewhat while removing the HP requirement, though it’s not necessarily better. Finally, Live to Serve can be utilized as a B skill to free up Halloween Mia’s Seal for something else if preferred.

Halloween Mia’s C skill and Seal are mostly up to preference. Running Atk/Res 2 makes her a bit better at running Ploys, particularly if she is also +RES. If using Pain, then Savage Blow as her C skill and Seal is highly recommended to maximize the amount of damage inflicted. Finally, her base Hone Fliers is quite effective if running her in a flier team. Other useful skills include Guidance and Flier Formation (Seal).

Introduction

As the first flying healer introduced to Fire Emblem Heroes, Halloween Mia is exceptional in that she has access to all of the raw utility that healers provide while also benefiting from flier mobility as well as further supporting her team with the unique mobility-based flier skills (like Guidance and Flier Formation). Thanks to weapon refining, Halloween Mia can utilize the Dazzling/Wrathful Staff combo, turning her into a powerful ranged and magical Firesweep attacker, except she can still retaliate when attacked. Her decent offenses also help her in this regard, particularly since she also has access to flier buffs.

Halloween Mia shares a weakness with other healers in that she also suffers from poor skill availability. This has gotten better with the release of skills like Atk/Spd Bond and Atk/Spd Push, but lacking access to offensive Specials and other skills limits her potential by quite a bit. Also, she shares a weakness with other fliers to anti-flier weaponry such as bows.

Overall, Halloween Mia is a fantastic unit due to her decent offenses and superb mobility strongly accentuating the innate utility that all healers have. Despite healers’ lack of access to many potent skills, the power of the Dazzling/Wrathful staff combo allows Halloween Mia to be a significant threat in addition to already providing excellent utility.

Strengths

Dazzling/Wrathful Staff Combo

This set is unique to healers and allows them to function as ranged, magical Firesweep users who can also counterattack when attacked. Halloween Mia is incredibly proficient at this due to her decent offenses and flier mobility.

Decent Offenses

Halloween Mia has enough offensive stats to present a notable damage threat; this is bolstered by the fact that she can utilize the Dazzling/Wrathful Staff combo as well as benefit from flier buffs.

Flier

As a flier, Halloween Mia enjoys superior mobility as well as access to powerful buffs like Hone Fliers. The unique mobility-based flier skills can also offer fantastic utility options.

Weaknesses

Poor Skill Availability

Halloween Mia’s status as a healer locks her out of a huge number of strong skills, including offensive Specials. Furthermore, the skills she wants to create her best builds (such as Dazzling/Wrathful Staff and Atk/Spd Bond) can be hard to come by.

Anti-Flier Weapons

As a flier, Halloween Mia needs to be careful around archers; in addition to having poor physical bulk, she will also get shot down easily due to effective damage.

Limited Unit

Halloween Mia’s status as a seasonal unit means that she is hard to obtain multiple copies of for merging or for finding optimal IVs.
