  •  This build focuses around Bernadetta’s Persecution Bow, featuring strong offensive boosts and an inbuilt Desperation effect so long as Bernadetta is suffering from either an active Penalty, or has less than 100% of her HP.

  • An Attack or Speed Asset can be taken to improve upon Bernadetta’s offensive stats. As this build recommends the Heavy Blade Sacred Seal, an Attack Asset is put in a slightly higher priority. A Resistance or Defense flaw can be taken as Bernadetta’s defenses are both quite low to begin with.

  • Ardent Sacrifice is recommended as an insurance policy for Bernadetta to set up her Persecution Bow’s effects prior to engaging in combat by giving an ally 10 HP, so long as another ally has taken damage. If one is okay with lacking the ability to set up Persecution Bow’s HP condition prior to combat, a movement Assist such as Reposition can be taken instead.

  • If utilizing the Heavy Blade Sacred Seal, Moonbow can be activated on every initiation of combat so long as Bernadetta is not being hampered by Guard effects and is able to win the Attack comparison between her and her opponent. If a cooldown bonus is not being granted to Bernadetta, Luna is the Special of choice.

  • Both Fury and her default Atk/Spd Push 4 grant bonuses to Bernadetta’s offenses, all while dealing chip damage after combat that will give Bernadetta the ability to activate Persecution Bow’s HP condition. However, while Atk/Spd Push 4 grants a massive +7 bonus to Attack and Speed, it is not suited for long fights because it will no longer grant the bonus if Bernadetta has reached 25% HP or less. As a result, if still desiring the self chip damage for easy setup, Fury is recommended for longer fights where Bernadetta is expected to engage in combat numerous times even if the boost in offenses is much lower.

  • Swift Sparrow 3 or Atk/Spd Solo also provide strong boosts to Attack and Speed, but they do not inflict any form of self chip damage, which can be seen as both a good thing and a bad thing. These Skills may help Bernadetta survive taking a hit better than if she has suffered constant chip damage, but the lack of chip damage means that Bernadetta has to either take a hit or use Ardent Sacrifice to set herself up.

  • Bernadetta’s default Lull Spd/Def is excellent and recommended to be kept as it not only inflicts an in combat debuff of -3 Speed and Defense to Bernadetta’s opponent, but it also allows her to ignore the Speed or Defense displayed bonuses of an opponent.

  • Bernadetta’s C Passive is not important to her build and can be flexible depending on the needs of the player. Some examples comprise of Savage Blow for softening future targets, Hone Cavalry if she finds herself on a Cavalry team, or her default Close Guard for a useful support effect.

  • The Heavy Blade Sacred Seal pairs wonderfully with Moonbow, allowing for Bernadetta to frequently activate her Special. If the Heavy Blade Sacred Seal is taken, the Swift Sparrow Sacred Seal is strong for consistent offense, while the Brazen Atk/Spd Sacred Seal grants +7 Attack and Speed when the HP condition has been met.

  •  While Persecution Bow is a very strong unique weapon, a Firesweep Bow can be considered as an alternative weapon that trades the raw offensive potential of the Persecution Bow in exchange for the ability to stop most foes from being able to counterattack.

  • A Speed or Attack Asset boosts Bernadetta’s offensive stats which are appreciated for this type of build. As Bernadetta is not going to be taking much damage if at all, dropping either her Defense or Resistance is a safe choice.

  • As the Firesweep Bow does not require any HP based setup conditions, Bernadetta’s default Ardent Sacrifice can be safely replaced for any Assist Skill.

  • Luna is utilized to have a Special that will be readily available every other round of combat, while Moonbow can be utilized with the Heavy Blade Sacred Seal if Bernadetta’s Attack is able to be consistently higher than her opponent’s.

  • As this build will not have to fear counter attacks outside of opponents that possess Null C-Disrupt, Life and Death is ideal to give Bernadetta’s Attack and Speed a strong boost while not having to worry so much about the drop in defenses. Atk/Spd Solo and Swift Sparrow are other alternative boosts to Attack and Speed that can be considered and do not drop Bernadetta’s defenses, making her more likely to survive against an opponent with Null C-Disrupt.

  • Bernadetta’s default Lull Spd/Def is used to secure more follow-up attacks and deal more damage, alongside bypassing the opponent’s Speed and Defense displayed bonuses. Poison Strike can be considered as a helpful alternative that deals 10 chip damage after combat, which is useful if Bernadetta cannot defeat her opponent in one round of combat.

  • The C Passive is not important to Bernadetta’s performance and can be whatever the player desires, whether it be something that helps to soften up targets, or support her allies.

  • The Swift Sparrow Sacred Seal grants +4 Attack and Speed to Bernadetta when she initiates combat, further improving her offenses. The Heavy Blade Sacred Seal can be used if Moonbow is the Special of choice. If committing to a chip damage based build, the Savage Blow Sacred Seal or Poison Strike Sacred Seal are viable alternatives.

Strengths

High Speed and Good Attack

Bernadetta has a solid base Speed of 38, and can be improved upon even further with her Speed Super Asset that bumps her up to 42 Speed. Her Attack isn’t too shabby either, being a base value of 32. This gives Bernadetta enough of an offensive distribution to justify a speedy offensive build that takes advantage of her good stats and cavalry mobility granting her a large attacking range.

Persecution Bow

The Persecution Bow is Bernadetta’s unique weapon and while it does require a bit of setup, it gives so much in return. Starting off, it grants Bernadetta +3 Attack just by equipping the weapon. If Bernadetta is suffering a penalty to one of her stats or has lost at least one point of her HP, she will gain the ability to land a follow-up attack before her opponent can counter attack when she initiates combat, on top of getting a boost of +5 Attack and Speed. This weapon frees up the need to utilize Desperation in her B Passive, all while granting her already strong offenses a further bonus.

Weaknesses

Poor Defenses

Bernadetta’s HP, Defense, and Resistance are all very low. Even before taking a Flaw stat in any of them, she only has a measly 60 physical bulk and 64 magical bulk. As a result, Bernadetta will have a tough time taking a hit and would rather utilize Skills such as her default Ardent Sacrifice and Atk/Spd Push to help setup Persecution Bow’s HP condition.

Requires Minor Setup

Persecution Bow is strong, but it requires one of two potential checks to be met before Bernadetta can reap the rewards. Bernadetta must either be suffering from a Penalty such as a stat debuff or an effect like Panic, or she must have less than 100% of her HP. While the Penalty based check is situational, the HP drop can easily be met by utilizing Skills such as Fury, Atk/Spd Push 4, or Ardent Sacrifice, or by getting Bernadetta to survive taking a hit. As it stands though, Persecution Bow will likely not be setup for Bernadetta’s first round of combat in most situations, instead opting to have long term effects after setting herself up.
