Show Explanation/Analysis

Weapon: Barb Shuriken+ (+Spd) / Red-Hot Ducks+ (+Spd) / Ouch Pouch (+Spd)

  • Barb Shuriken is a weapon that helps to provide Hostile Springs Camilla with frequent Special activations. Due to her somewhat average Attack, Special activations help to push her damage output to more respectable levels.

  • Red-Hot Ducks is another dagger that can aid in Camilla’s damage output, as she is able to get her Speed to reach a point where it can activate against most opponents and grant her true damage. This is especially potent when she has access to offensive class-exclusive buffs supporting her.

  • Coming with Ouch Pouch in her base kit, Ouch Pouch is a decent weapon to start with and can yield a powerful Special in a single round of combat. However, Ouch Pouch does nothing for the instances of combat after the initial activation and cannot be abused with Special Spiral due to Hostile Springs Camilla’s flier limitations.

Assist: Reposition / Player Preference

  • Reposition is a strong Assist skill for fliers due to their strong mobility. They are able to help allies move across normally impassable terrain through this Assist skill.

Special: Moonbow / Luna / Glimmer

  • Moonbow activates very frequently and, with Barb Shuriken, will be activated every round of combat even if running Desperation as the B Passive. Through the Heavy Blade Seal, Camilla can even utilize Moonbow this way with Red-Hot Ducks. Moonbow will provide Camilla a means to give a solid punch to even those with higher Defense.

  • Luna can be a strong choice if Hostile Springs Camilla is running the Barb Shuriken alongside Heavy Blade Sacred Seal as it will activate within Desperation. Alternatively, a fully charged Luna for the first round of combat can be utilized with Ouch Pouch and Quickened Pulse Sacred Seal.

  • Glimmer is the Special that Hostile Springs Camilla has naturally and while it is not an ideal Special for this type of build, it can be used as a budget skill if one cannot afford to replace it.

Passive A: Fury (3 or 4) / Atk/Spd Solo / Swift Sparrow (2 or 3) / Atk/Spd 2

  • Fury gives Hostile Springs Camilla a boost to her stats across the board, helping to push not only her offenses to a stronger level, but also making her Defense and Resistance safer for trading blows with an opponent. When running Desperation, Fury will easily be able to set Camilla up in a safe manner.

  • Atk/Spd Solo gives a strong boost of 6 to Attack/Speed, but the player has to make sure that Camilla is not next to an ally during combat. This usually is not a problem for offensive units such as Camilla, but it is important to be wary of positioning.

  • Swift Sparrow 3 can provide a strong boost of 7 Speed and 6 Attack when Camilla is the one to initiate combat. Swift Sparrow 2 is easier to obtain by comparison, at the cost of only giving a boost of 4 Attack/Speed compared to its Tier 3 counterpart.

  • Atk/Spd 2 is a usable enough boost of 2 Attack/Speed, and is the A Passive that Camilla starts off with. Very much usable on a budget, but it is easily replaced.

Passive B: Desperation / Chill Def

  • Desperation allows Camilla to safely deal with physical attackers that can counter attack her and would normally exploit her poor physical bulk once she has dropped to 75% HP or less.

  • Chill Def is an alternate B Passive that trades Camilla’s safety from Desperation in exchange for a means to debuff the opponent with the highest Defense stat with a -7 Defense debuff. If Camilla strikes her weakened opponent, she may be able to secure matchups she would have otherwise struggled against.

Passive C: Hone Fliers / Player Preference

  • Hone Fliers is not only Hostile Springs Camilla’s default C Passive, but it also works amazingly well if Camilla is alongside her fellow fliers. This can be replaced with another C Passive if Camilla does not find herself on a flier-based team.

Sacred Seal: Brazen Atk/Spd / Darting Blow / Atk/Spd 2 / Heavy Blade / Quickened Pulse

  • Brazen Atk/Spd provides Hostile Springs Camilla with a strong boost to her Attack/Speed once she has dropped to 80% HP or lower. This is easily achieved by running Fury in the A Passive as the chip damage will gradually set her up to have an easier time sweeping her opponents.

  • Darting Blow provides 6 Speed on initiation, ensuring Camilla achieves follow-up attacks more often than normal.

  • Atk/Spd 2 gives a consistent 2 Attack/Speed no matter if it is in Player Phase or Enemy Phase.

  • The Heavy Blade Sacred Seal is somewhat difficult to utilize due to Hostile Springs Camilla’s naturally average Attack stat before any kind of support. As fliers do not have access to Flashing Blade Sacred Seal, it is the only option available for cooldown acceleration.

  • The Quickened Pulse Sacred Seal can provide Camilla with easier access to a stronger Special for her first round of combat, though it does nothing for every subsequent matchup. Quickened Pulse possesses strong synergy with Ouch Pouch, allowing for a 3 charge Special to be instantly prepared for Camilla’s first matchup.

Reposition B Vantage 3
Glimmer C Atk Smoke 3
Alternate: Spd Smoke 3
IVs

+ATK / -HP

SSpd Smoke 3
Alternate: Atk Smoke 3

Show Explanation/Analysis

Weapon: Broadleaf Fan+ (+Atk)

  • Broadleaf Fan is the glue that holds this build together, as Hostile Springs Camilla normally does not have a very high Attack stat to even remotely consider OHKO builds. However, because Broadleaf Fan adds the value of debuffs applied on an opponent to Camilla’s Attack stat, this can result in a massive 28 Attack obtained during combat if the opponent is suffering -7 to Attack/Speed/Defense/Resistance.

Assist: Reposition / Player Preference

Special: Glimmer

  • Glimmer activates frequently, which makes it a strong Special for this build as it will be active more often compared to higher charge Specials. Glimmer scales very well off the high effective Attack ceiling that Camilla can receive during combat if her opponent is suffering a storm of debuffs.

Passive A: Close Counter / Fierce Stance

  • Close Counter is important to this build, as it allows Camilla to counter attack even if she is attacked at close range. This will broaden the range of opponents she is able to deal with on Enemy Phase to more than just ranged units.

  • Running Fierce Stance means no longer having Close Counter, which greatly decreases the number of matchups that Camilla can handle within the Enemy Phase. In return, it grants her a large Attack boost during the Enemy Phase which makes her excellent for dealing with ranged units.

Passive B: Vantage

  • Vantage allows Camilla to attack before the opponent can strike if the opponent initiates combat against her while she is at 75% HP or less. This can result in Camilla being able to OHKO her opponent before they have the chance of hitting her. It is important to attempt to force a situation where Camilla is counter attacking foes that are suffering debuffs, otherwise Camilla’s damage output will be much lower than what it could be.

Passive C: Atk Smoke / Spd Smoke

  • Atk Smoke is very accessible as far as C Passives go as Kaze is easily summonable. Atk Smoke will give Camilla access to another debuff that she can apply on foes near her opponent, which can further be abused by Broadleaf Fan.

  • Spd Smoke is a less accessible C Passive as the only accessible way to obtain it is through a five star Fallen Takumi. It does serve the same purpose as Atk Smoke however, meaning that it can be run in the C Passive if the player desires it.

Sacred Seal: Spd Smoke / Atk Smoke / Fierce Stance

  • Spd Smoke is the Sacred Seal to run if Atk Smoke is being utilized in the C Passive. Likewise, Atk Smoke should be run in the Sacred Seal if Spd Smoke is being used in the C Passive.

  • Fierce Stance trades a potential debuff that Camilla can carry herself in exchange for a consistent 6 Attack during the Enemy Phase. The Fierce Stance Sacred Seal can be useful if Camilla finds herself on a team that already has a means of providing the debuff that she does not carry.

IVs

+ATK / -DEF

SDarting Blow 3
Alternate: Atk/Spd 2

Show Explanation/Analysis

Weapon: Splashy Bucket+ (+Spd) / Cloud Maiougi+ (+Spd)

  • Splashy Bucket not only has effectiveness against dragon foes, but it also negates the adaptive damage that is commonly possessed by dragons as well as negating Wrathful Staff. This makes it an excellent weapon for dragon hunting, as Camilla will be able to use her decent Resistance in order to trade blows with dragons rather than her poor Defense.

  • Cloud Maiougi does not possess the adaptive damage negation, meaning that Hostile Springs Camilla is forced to utilize Mystic Boost in order to no longer fear the adaptive damage of the dragons she is expected to combat. In return, Cloud Maiougi contains the Hardy Bearing effect which allows Camilla to not have to worry about Vantage.

Assist: Reposition / Player Preference

Special: Glimmer

  • Glimmer scales very well off effective damage and activates frequently. If Camilla has to trade blows with a dragon opponent and is able to land a follow-up attack on them, she will activate Glimmer in one round of combat. As an added bonus, Hostile Springs Camilla even comes with this Special in her base kit.

Passive A: Mirror Impact / Mirror Strike

  • Mirror Impact is the safest skill to run with this set as it provides Camilla with a large boost of 10 Resistance and 6 Attack when she initiates combat. If the opponent is running follow-up skills such as Quick Riposte or Vengeful Fighter, they will only be able to follow-up attack against Camilla if they naturally outspeed her.

  • Mirror Strike does not have the same safety that Mirror Impact possesses, as the boost to Attack/Resistance is only by 4, and it does not block follow-ups. It is quite cheap to obtain though, as Oliver is a unit obtainable by Grails and possesses the skill at four star rarity.

Passive B: Chill Def / Mystic Boost

  • Fliers do not have access to powerful skills that could make this build better such as Null Follow-Up or Special Spiral. As such, Chill Def makes a strong option that can debuff the foe that possesses the highest Defense on the enemy team by -7 Defense. Dragons are often very durable units, so more often than not the dragon will be targeted by the Chill Def debuff.

  • Mystic Boost is mandatory for the safety of initiating against dragons if choosing to run Cloud Maiougi, as Cloud Maiougi does not negate adaptive damage like Splashy Bucket does. It also provides +7 HP after combat to Camilla, giving her a small means of sustaining herself.

Passive C: Hone Fliers / Player Preference

  • Hone Fliers will allow Camilla to easily support a flier team, otherwise any C Passive can be taken if she does not find herself within a flier team.

Sacred Seal: Darting Blow / Atk/Spd 2 / Flier Formation / Aerobatics

  • The Darting Blow Sacred Seal gives Camilla 6 Speed on initiation, which makes up for the fact that by running Mirror Impact or Mirror Strike, Camilla is not obtaining any Speed related increase by herself.

  • The Atk/Spd 2 Sacred Seal provides a small but beneficial boost to Camilla’s Attack and Speed.

  • Flier Formation and Aerobatics can be run should Hostile Springs Camilla find herself on a flier team, or a mixed team respectively. They do not provide any bonus to Camilla’s combat performance, but in return they give Camilla access to stronger movement on the map.

Strengths

Good Offensive Stats

Hostile Springs Camilla can run offensive dagger setups with good results thanks to her 33 Attack and 35 Speed. By compensating for her somewhat average attack through the use of the right inheritable weapons and skills, she can pull her weight as an offensive flier.

Accessibility

Hostile Springs Camilla is available in the Grail shop, which means that merge copies can be obtained should one choose her as their project to spend their Heroic Grails on. This makes her easier by comparison to merge compared to competition for her role such as Eir who is tied to Legendary or Mythic Hero banners and Spring Kagero who is seasonal locked.

Flier Mobility

Being a flier allows Hostile Springs Camilla to have freedom with her positioning, as well as have access to powerful mobility skills such as Flier Formation or Aerobatics. Hostile Springs Camilla can either push forward in ways that grounded units could not, or have an easier time retreating over otherwise uncrossable terrain.

Weaknesses

Eir is Also Accessible

Eir may be much harder to merge in comparison to Hostile Springs Camilla, but Eir has inherent advantages over her thanks to Lyfjaberg. If a player has no desire to merge Hostile Springs Camilla and instead rely on the Eir that they earned from the Main Story, then Eir proves to be the superior choice.

Poor Defense

A value of 17 base Defense makes Hostile Springs Camilla not suited for taking more than one physical attack. Combined with a value of 38 HP means that Hostile Springs Camilla only sports 55 physical bulk. This forces her to be careful when picking fights against physical attackers who are able to reach 55 Attack or higher.
