Weapon: Ivaldi (+Eff) / Drifting Grace+ (+Spd) / Flora Guide+ (+Spd)

Assist: Positional Assist

Special: Moonbow / Ruptured Sky

Passive A: Atk/Spd Boosting A Slot

Passive B: Desperation / S/R Far Trace

Passive C: Atk/Spd Menace / Res Smoke

Sacred Seal: Atk/Spd Solo / Blade Session

  • L’Arachel’s high range and decent, albeit outclassed base offenses make a Player Phase initiator role a natural and strong pick for the Princess of Light.
  • Ivaldi effectively grants +8/3/11/8 during combat, while Spd-refined Drifting Grace and Flora Guide effectively grant +5/7 Atk/Spd. While Ivaldi grants more raw damage and bulk, the extra Spd control that Drifting Grace and Flora Guide provide may be more worthwhile.
  • With no Special acceleration, cooldown reduction, or charge, low-cooldown Specials such as Moonbow and Ruptured Sky are ideal for frequent and consistent Special activations whenever possible.
  • Atk/Spd Boosting A Slots maximize L’Arachel’s damage output, making them her strongest choices. Atk/Spd Catch 4 is particularly worth noting, potentially granting +9 Atk/Spd during combat if the enemy’s HP = 100% and they have visible debuffs.
  • Allowing L’Arachel to perform her follow-up before the enemy can counterattack if her HP is ≤ 75%, Desperation is particularly potent because it allows her to circumvent her bulk and aim for 2HKOs. Alternatively, S/R Far Trace inflicts -3 Spd/Res during combat and grants L’Arachel her remaining movement after her first combat, Assist usage, or broken structure, increasing her mobility and overall flexibility.
  • Atk/Spd Menace grants L’Arachel +6 Atk/Spd while inflicting -6 Atk/Spd on the nearest enemies within four spaces, making it a fantastic choice for increased damage, Spd control, and survivability pre-Desperation (or if not using Desperation at all). A more budget-friendly option for higher damage output is Res Smoke, which simply inflicts -7 Res on enemies within two spaces of the target after combat.
  • Atk/Spd Solo and Blade Session are go-to Sacred Seals for any offensive set, as the former grants +6 Atk/Spd during combat if L’Arachel is not adjacent to any ally while the latter grants +3, +6, or +9 Atk/Spd on initiation if zero, one, or at least two allies have already moved respectively.

  • L’Arachel’s Coliseum score increases every 100 SP her skills (in total) cost. At the time of writing, Chill Def/Res 3 is the only inheritable, 300 SP B Slot, which pushes L’Arachel’s maximum SP from 2380 to 2440. As this skill is rather inaccessible, this set will be split into two sections: 2400-2440 SP total and 2300-2380 SP total.
  • Regardless of which SP total players aim for, 400 SP Assists, 500 SP Specials, and B Duel Cavalry 4 are necessities for high Coliseum scoring (especially the latter, as it treats L’Arachel’s BST as if it were 180 for scoring purposes).
  • 2400-2440 SP:
    • As aforementioned, requires Chill Def/Res 3, as without a 300 SP B Slot, L’Arachel’s maximum SP cost is 2380.
    • L’Arachel’s C Slot also needs to cost 300 SP. Strong options include Atk/Spd Menace and Joint Drive Atk, with the former increasing L’Arachel’s offenses and lowering the offenses of the nearest enemy/enemies within four spaces and the latter granting L’Arachel and allies within two spaces +4 Atk during combat. Generally, though, L’Arachel’s C Slot is flexible and can be changed to best fit her team or a player’s preferences.
    • Because there is no difference between 200 SP and 240 SP Sacred Seals for scoring purposes (as the former results in a 2400 SP cost total while the latter results in a 2440 SP cost total), L’Arachel has a wide variety to choose from. How much this matters is…debatable, though, as the best Sacred Seals (such as Atk/Spd Solo and Blade Session for stronger damage output or Chill skills for support) are 240 SP anyway.
  • 2300-2380 SP:
    • L’Arachel’s B, C, and S Slots simply need to add to 700-780 SP to reach the 2300 SP scoring bin. As such, players have a wide selection of skill combinations, but some suggestions for each include:
      • B- Ruse skills (utility), Lull Spd/Res (combat), S/R Far Trace (combat and mobility)
      • C- Atk/Spd Menace (combat and utility), Spd/Res Menace (combat and utility), Joint Drive skills (combat and utility), Drive skills (utility), Close and Distant Guard (utility)

S- Atk/Spd Solo (combat), Blade Session (combat), Chill skills (utility)

Strengths

Cavalry Advantages

Being an evil-vanquishing princess of light, it would not do for L’Arachel to simply walk to her enemies, so she gracefully rides a horse instead! With three movement and access to skills such as Atk/Spd Catch, Lull Spd/Res, and S/R Far Trace, L’Arachel can make haste in purging the darkness from Askr and beyond.

Weaknesses

Awful Stats

Despite claiming that “were she not a holy woman, she would beat you senseless,” L’Arachel’s statline falls flat. 33/33/31/17/31 is almost impressively outdated; she needs high investment and support to perform adequately.

Underwhelming Refine

In an attempt to spare us from her overwhelming power, L’Arachel held back and decided not to make her Ivaldi refine particularly strong. Effectively granting +8 Atk/Def/Res and +3 Spd during combat and healing 7 HP after combat, Ivaldi’s refine is one of the most disappointing in the game, with inheritable weapons such as Spd-refined Drifting Grace and Flora Guide easily competing with Ivaldi due to their higher Spd swings.

Cavalry Disadvantages

Even for the omnipotent princess of Rausten, being a Cavalry unit comes with its drawbacks.

  • Taking increased damage against Cavalry-effective weaponry, L’Arachel must be wary of enemies such as Micaiah (pick your favorite; they all do the same thing!) lest she find herself six feet under.
  • Trenches and forests compromise L’Arachel’s mobility, slowing her heroic crusades.
  • Lacking access to key skills such as Null Follow-Up, Time’s Pulse, and Flashing Blade all but ensures L’Arachel’s tragically unimpressive combat.

Outclassed

After single-handedly saving Magvel from the Demon King, L’Arachel figured it would be time to let other heroes have the spotlight. Nearly all of her Blue Mage friends outclass her both offensively and defensively thanks to any combination of better statlines, better personal weapons, and/or better skill access. Perhaps L’Arachel will one day grace us with a Legendary alt, wielding Latona and being a meta-defining Staff Cavalier instead; for now, though, she takes a well-deserved rest from her justice-seeking escapades.
