  • Courtly Fan+ is a solid weapon for Spring Kagero since it leverages her offensive prowess and allows her to run a competitive B Passive. If she initiates combat, she gains an additional +5 Atk/Spd and half Null Follow-Up, meaning she has plenty of opportunities to secure KOs on her foes. And because she is a Flier, she can also run Reins to bolster her offensive pressure even more.
     
  • Any A Passive that increases her overall Atk and Spd is going to be a solid option for her since the weapon functions on Spd checks. Atk/Spd Catch provides the most Atk/Spd but requires that the foe is debuffed and has 100% of their HP present. Even so, this can be accomplished with dagger debuffs or Menace skills.
     
  • Because Courtly Fan+ has half Null Follow-Up built into its weapon, she can run Windsweep or Watersweep and double through the follow-up prevention. This is rather nice since it can help her secure KOs and keep her healthy since she can prevent counterattacks.
     
  • Depending on her A Passive, she can either opt for Atk/Spd Menace or Spd/Def Rein. Atk/Spd Menace is nice when paired with Atk/Spd Catch as it makes her A Passive self-sufficient, and after the initial combat, there’ll be debuffs present on nearby foes, so it can continue to provide +9 Atk/Spd. However, it’s not consistent, so you can always run Spd/Def Rein instead since it’ll always inflict a static -4 Spd/Def on the foe.
     
  • Any Sacred Seal that increases her overall Atk and Spd are going to be desired for Spring Kagero. If you want immediate buffs, you can run Life and Death. Blade Session is also a good option, but only gets stronger with each move taken, so there may be times where it costs a matchup. Even so, both are solid choices.

  • The goal with this set is to turn Spring Kagero into a player phase menace by stacking up as much recoil damage as possible. Pumpkin-a-Box+ combined with Fury can give her between 12-14 points of recoil damage, which in turn can activate Desperation and Brazens relatively quickly and can allow her to attack twice before the foe can counterattack. It’s simple, yet does the job effectively, provided that there aren’t any follow-up prevention skills.
     
  • Because she’ll be running double Fury, Desperation is going to activate quickly since she can get up to 14 points of recoil damage per combat. It also doesn’t help that she lacks options, but nevertheless, Desperation works fairly well for this set.
     
  • Since Spring Kagero is mainly going to be functioning in the player phase, running Spd/Def Rein is going to be her only notable option since it increases her likelihood to double and secure KOs.
     
  • Any Sacred Seal that increases her damage output is going to work well with Spring Kagero. Two notable options are Blade Session and Brazen Atk/Spd. Blade Session works from the get-go but scales based on how many actions were taken in that turn. Meanwhile, Brazen Atk/Spd is a good option that gives a static +7 Atk/Spd with the downside of needing setup. Even so, if she is running double Fury, she’ll meet the condition after one combat.

  • Spring Kagero can always default to a mixed-phase role with Broadleaf Fan+ and aim for plenty of one-shots. It’s rather self-sufficient since daggers debuff foes’ Def and Res for -7 each. This, in turn, allows her to stack up even more Atk.
     
  • Since the goal is to one-shot her foes, she’ll want to have the ability to attack in both phases so that she isn’t prone to the enemy phase. As such, Close Foil will be her best bet since it increases her damage output against every type of melee foe not including Dragons. That being said, if you want to have the ability to counter all foes, she can run Close Counter instead.
     
  • Because she is running Broadleaf Fan+ and the goal is to give her a niche in both phases, her most desirable B Passive will have to be Vantage.
     
  • Spring Kagero has plenty of flexibility when it comes to her C Passive. Spd/Def Rein and Joint Drive Atk are good options for increasing her damage output in general. That being said, Spd/Def Rein doesn’t have a spatial requirement and can give her more of a player phase presence. You can also run Atk Smoke to increase her damage output with Broadleaf Fan+ or give her Savage Blow to make enemy phase KOs easier to accomplish.
     
  • Anything that increases her damage output is going to be a good option for her Sacred Seal. Fierce Stance gives stats immediately, which is rather nice but only works in the enemy phase. Meanwhile, Brazen Atk/Spd works in both phases but requires setup. Even so, if she is going to be running Vantage, she’ll need to set up anyway. There’s also Spd Smoke and Savage Blow. Spd Smoke synergizes well with Broadleaf Fan+ since it’ll add additional Atk to herself while Savage Blow can give her more of a player phase presence and can allow her to take out foes in the enemy phase with more ease.

Strengths

Decent Offenses

    For what it’s worth, having an offensive statline of 35/34 Atk/Spd respectively isn’t the worst in today’s day and age, but it’s definitely not the best by any means. Her offensive statline is more than workable, especially with Reins and all the inheritable daggers that are available to her.

Flier Perks (Mainly Reins)

    Having access to Reins is rather nice since it can help secure doubles, KOs, and Heavy Blade checks. And since each Rein debuffs two stats, there is plenty of variety to be had.

Dagger Variety

    Despite being a ranged flier with limited access to competitive B Passives, the inheritable daggers that are available allow Spring Kagero to run a variety of sets that she otherwise would struggle to run.

Weaknesses

No Feasible Bulk

    Ranged fliers have lower BST than their contemporaries, especially the ones introduced earlier in the game’s life, and Spring Kagero is no exception. With only 150 BST, some stats had to take the hit and those happened to be her HP and Def mostly. Her offenses were spared, thankfully, and her Res stat isn’t the worst, but considering that her HP stat isn’t the best, her magical bulk is relatively low as a result, not to mention her nonexistent physical bulk which is only exemplified with a weakness to bows. Even so, as long as she is able to deal with her foes in the player phase and doesn’t get initiated on, she’ll be fine.
