Show Explanation/Analysis

Weapon: Chaos Manifest(+EFF)

Assist: Positional Assist / None (for AI management on a Defense team)

Special: Iceberg

  • Iceberg's lower activation charge reduces the number of combats she needs to charge it

Passive A: Sturdy Impact

  • Since Yune's Chaos Named(+EFF) grants her an additional follow-up, taking Sturdy Impact further helps her Player Phase oriented playstyle by denying her opponent's second follow-up attack.
  • Because her prf also reduces damage from the first attack, denying her opponents a second attack makes her near-invulnerable during the Player Phase - unless her opponent is using Null Follow-Up.
  • There really is no better A slot for her than this right now. You could use Mirror Impact if you have that available - they're very similar in playstyle, with Sturdy Impact helping to bolster her weaker Defenses, in case something does pierce through her Damage Reduction.

Passive B: Seal Res 4 / Mystic Boost 4

  • The new Seal Res 4 skill is used here more for the Guard effect and in-combat Res debuff, further increasing the damage she takes while protecting her defensively from an opponent Special.
  • Yune doesn't need any help inflicting her opponents with a debuff, and so generally this will inflict her opponent with Res - 4 and Guard. However, if she can't get a Res debuff on her foe, this skill inflicts her opponent with Res -7.
  • Mystic Boost also works very well as a B slot for Yune as it allows her to attack into dragon units without them retaliating onto her lower Defense
  • Furthermore, Mystic Boost 4 increases her defenses by reducing her opponent's Attack and grants her a heal after every combat, increasing her longevity

Passive C: Chaos Named+

  • You think you can dodge penalties? Think again.
  • Chaos Named+ is an Omni-Chill which inflicts Chill on each opponent with the highest stats and all opponents within two spaces of them, and furthermore inflicts Panic on each foe with the highest stat on the enemy team
  • It's a damn shame that Ashera is an anima mythic because everybody is getting Panic'd now

Sacred Seal: Death Blow

  • Yune predominately operates in the Player Phase and relies solely on her Attack, making Death Blow a no brainer
  • You could use skills like Atk/Res Solo or another stat booster, but Death Blow has the simplest activation that is most advantageous to Yune.

Strengths

Omni Chill

  • Yune's new refine alters her role into a bona fide tank breaker, with a new C slot which inflicts penalties and Panic on the enemy with the highest of each stat on the enemy team, plus all enemies within two spaces of them.
  • In short, it's remarkably hard to dodge penalties and Panic when facing a Yune in combat
  • This is then further manipulated by her prf, which grants her Damage Resistance depending on the total amount of debuffs on or near her foe, as well as true damage based on said debuffs (Dominance)
  • All this boils down to: if she is attacking a unit with debuffs or a unit who is near a unit with debuffs, she gets buffed up significantly. This means that your opponent's stat balls and chill soakers cannot be supporting their tank at all, or those debuffs she automatically inflicts with her C slot will be used against them

No Upper Limit

  • Utilizing the native Panic in her C slot, Yune can force foes to take debuffs beyond the standard -7, stacking with her own -7, and then add those all up to use against the foe.
  • In short, this means that for slightly unrealistic showcases, Yune can amass a total of -50 penalties on the enemy team and reduce damage from the enemy's first attack by 100% - taking 0 damage.
  • In short, be careful of using any sort of visible buffs at all when baiting her or she just won't die.

Weaknesses

Anti-DR

  • As DR skills have become meta, anti-DR skills exist to counter them. This means that units using skills like Deadeye and Lethality can easily cut through Yune's DR for a counterkill - and since she has no native way to prevent her foes from charging skills, this means she's still somewhat vulnerable in the Enemy Phase

Player Phase Effects

  • Yune's best effects - her penalty-based DR - only takes effect during the Player Phase, meaning that she's incredibly weak in Enemy Phase.
  • She still has auto followup and Dominance (penalty-based true damage) in Enemy Phase, but without the means to reduce the damage she takes, her low defensive stats make her a sitting duck
