Assets

  • +ATK: Attack is arguably Brady’s strongest Asset choice overall. Brady has good Attack by default and he will appreciate the extra boost is power, whether it be for combat or support reasons.

  • +SPD: Brady does not have fantastic Speed, but a Speed Asset will still prove to be beneficial, particularly for offensive use.

  • +RES: Brady’s Resistance is fairly good and with a Resistance Asset, he can become quite resilient to enemy magical attacks. It also helps him to activate Ploy skills if one desires.

Neutral

  • HP: Brady has good HP and is what helps him to be resilient to magical attacks. Keeping HP neutral is recommended as HP is a Superflaw.

Flaws

  • -DEF: Defense is Brady’s overall least important stat which makes it the overall best option for a Flaw.

Show Explanation/Analysis

Preferred IV: +ATK or +SPD / -DEF

As the purpose of this set is offensive power, Brady will ideally want an Asset in either Attack or Speed. Defense is Brady’s overall least important stat and therefore is the optimal Flaw.

Weapon: Wrathful Pain+ / Dazzling Pain+ / Wrathful Gravity+ / Dazzling Gravity+

  • Pain is one of the strongest offensive options that healers have available, making them deal 10 HP of damage to target and surrounding foes after combat.

  • Gravity is a more support-focused but still strong weapon for healers. Gravity restricts the target and surrounding foes to one move, something with can severely cripple an opposing team.

  • Whether or not a Wrathful or Dazzling refine is used solely depends on whether or not Dazzling Staff or Wrathful Staff is used in the B slot.

Assist: Recover+ / Martyr+

  • Recover comes by default on Brady and is a great choice for an Assist. Unless desired, there is no need to change this skill.

  • Martyr is an alternative option that will heal Brady whenever he uses it for half of his lost HP. This pairs great with Atk/Spd Push in order to allow Brady to heal himself back to full HP.

Special: Heavenly Light / Windfire Balm+

  • Heavenly Light is a strong support Special that comes by default on Brady. Much like with Recover, there is no need to switch out this skill unless desired.

  • For arena scoring purposes, Brady could opt to take a skill such as Windfire Balm.

Passive A: Atk/Spd Solo / Atk/Spd Push / Atk/Spd 2 / Speed +3

  • Atk/Spd Solo is the strongest offensive A slot skill healers have access to, granting a substantial buff to Attack and Speed whenever the user has no adjacent allies.

  • Atk/Spd Push is another strong offensive choice for healers, granting a strong offensive buff whenever Brady is at full HP but then deals 1 damage to him after combat. This skill is best used alongside the Martyr Assist or Live to Serve so that Brady has means to heal himself back to full HP.

  • On the cheaper side, Atk/Spd 2 is a simple A slot skill that gives Brady a small boost to his offensive power. He could also use Attack +3 or Speed +3 which are even cheaper still.

Passive B: Dazzling Staff / Wrathful Staff

  • The main power of offensive healers is the Wrathful Dazzling combination which allows them to attack at full power and block counterattacks against any enemy not using a skill such as Null C-Disrupt.

  • Whether Dazzling Staff or Wrathful Staff is used in the B slot depends entirely on what is available.

Passive C: Savage Blow / Infantry Rush / Player Preference

  • Savage Blow is a great C slot for offensive healers, dealing a small amount of AoE damage to enemies around the target after combat. This skill stacks with Pain for lots of damage.

  • Infantry Rush comes by default on Brady and is a decent support option that helps Brady to empower his infantry allies.

Sacred Seal: Savage Blow / Live to Serve / Atk/Spd 2

  • Much like how Savage Blow is a great C slot choice, it is also a great Sacred Seal choice. Pain with Savage Blow in both the C slot and Sacred Seal slot will result in 24 HP of AoE damage being dealt to enemies near to Brady’s target.

  • Live to Serve is a good choice if Brady is using Atk/Spd Push as it allows him to heal himself whenever he heals someone else.

  • Atk/Spd 2 is a simple but effective Sacred Seal choice that’s good for giving Brady one last offensive push.

Alternate: Recover+
B Quick Riposte 3
Alternate: Mystic Boost 3
Miracle C Infantry Rush 3
IVsSFire Boost 3
Alternate: Attack +3

Show Explanation/Analysis

Preferred IV: +ATK or +RES / -DEF

For the main intention of this set, either an Attack or Resistance Asset will work well to either increase Brady’s offensive power or ability to defend against magical foes. Defense remains his most disposable stat, though Speed can also work as a Flaw.

Weapon: Wrathful Absorb+

  • For tanking, it is important that Brady has self recovery. As such, the Absorb staff can be an effective option in order to allow him to heal based on how much damage he deals with his attack.

  • Wrathful refine is the best option in order to maximize damage.

Assist: Martyr+ / Recover+

  • Martyr is the strongest overall choice of Assist for this set as it allows Brady to heal himself outside of combat whenever he heals another ally.

  • His default Recover also works fine. Though it does not provide any healing to Brady, it is still the overall strongest Assist in terms of healing allies.

Special: Miracle

  • Healers unfortunately lack offensive Specials, so the next best option is to go for the sole Special they have that affects combat. Miracle has a lengthy cooldown of five but will save Brady from being KO’d and instead leaving him at 1 HP.

Passive A: Close Counter

  • Close Counter allows Brady to retaliate against foes that attack him in close quarters. This is important so he can counter against a much wider range of threats.

Passive B: Quick Riposte / Mystic Boost

  • Quick Riposte gives Brady a guaranteed follow-up attack whenever he is attacked while above 70% HP. This is extremely useful for improving his offensive power and self-healing.

  • Mystic Boost is another strong option, healing Brady for six HP after every battle and negating adaptive damage and Wrathful Staff. A very strong skill that greatly aids Brady’s defensive prowess.

Passive C: Infantry Rush / Player Preference

  • For general purposes with this set, the C slot is not of great importance. If desired, Brady can stick with his default C slot skill Infantry Rush.

  • Otherwise, one is free to give him their personal favorite choice of C slot skill.

Sacred Seal: Fire Boost / Quick Riposte / Atk/Res Bond / Attack +3

  • Unfortunately, being a healer restricts what Brady is capable of using to boost his offensive potential. Given his good HP, the likeliness that he’ll be blessed by Eir or Naga to increase it further, and his self-healing, he can make decent use of Fire Boost which gives him a substantial HP boost whenever he has three more HP than the opponent.

  • Quick Riposte is a good fit for the Sacred Seal slot if Quick Riposte is not being used in the B slot.

  • Atk/Res Bond can also be a decent option, but having an ally adjacent to the tank can be dangerous as it puts them at greater risk of being attacked by incoming attackers.

  • If nothing else, Brady can use a simple Attack +3 Sacred Seal to give him a small Attack boost.

Show Explanation/Analysis

Preferred IV: +SPD or +RES / -DEF

Since this build is focusing more on support capabilities, both Speed and Resistance make for great Asset choices. Attack is still a good choice as well since Brady’s Attack stat will affect the power of healing Assists. Defense is still the overall optimal choice of Flaw.

Weapon: Dazzling Slow+ / Dazzling Panic+

  • Brady’s default weapon Slow has some good support utility in reducing the Speed of his target and surrounding foes.

  • Panic is also very strong, making Brady apply the Panic effect to his target and surrounding foes which could be devastating against some team compositions.

  • Since this build is more about support than offense, taking the Dazzling refine to help keep Brady safe when he does attack is recommended.

Assist: Restore+ / Recover+

  • Restore is a strong Assist choice since it both heals and removes negative status effects from the target. This allows Brady to erase effects such as Panic and Flash from allies.

  • Recover comes by default on Brady and is a strong choice thanks to the large amount of healing it provides.

Special: Heavenly Light / Windfire Balm+

  • Heavenly Light is a great support Special for healers and even comes on Brady by default. Unless desired, there is no need to change this for another Special.

  • If Arena Scoring is of concern, then using a high SP Special such as Windfire Balm is a good option.

Passive A: Fort. Def/Res / Spd Res 2 / Resistance +3

  • Fort. Def/Res gives Brady a substantial defensive boost at the cost of a small amount of Attack. This is a strong boost that helps him to survive should he need to defend himself.

  • Spd Res 2 is another good choice, boosting his arguably two most important stats for this set.

  • Resistance +3 is a cheap but still good option that helps Brady against magical foes and helps him to activate Ploys more easily.

Passive B: Wings of Mercy / Chill Def

  • Wings of Mercy is a fantastic B slot choice. This allows Brady to move adjacent to any ally below 50% HP, meaning he can quickly move to any ally in need of healing.

  • A Chill skill such as Chill Def can also work well. If Brady is using two Ploy skills, the stat that his chosen Chill debuffs should aim to be different to those two Ploys.

Passive C: Spd Ploy / Infantry Rush / Player Preference

  • Thanks to his decent Resistance and with the right skills, Brady can become good with Ploy skills. Any of the Ploy skills can be useful, but Spd Ploy has the arguably widest application of all Ploy skills.

  • Brady’s default Infantry Rush can also act as a good support option for fellow infantry allies.

Sacred Seal: Atk Ploy / Def Ploy / Res Ploy / Spd Ploy

  • As Sacred Seal, Brady can take any Ploy he isn’t using in the C slot. Every single Ploy skill is available as a Sacred Seal, so this is completely up to personal preference.

Introduction

Quite a stark contrast from his mother, Brady is not like typical priests. Regardless, he's here and ready to serve. Brady is a staff infantry unit and while his stat line is nothing outstanding and he’s not so different from a lot of other healers, he can still perform well as a healer in a variety of roles.

His most standout stat is his high HP, which when combined with his good Resistance allows him to be quite effective at resisting magical opponents. His offensive capabilities are not spectacular, but they are serviceable and allow him to fight fairly well. His Defense is poor but his high HP helps to make up for this.

Overall, Brady is nothing special. He’s not drastically different from other infantry healers that we’ve seen before and he doesn’t have any personal skills to set himself apart in a major way. Still, he remains a strong and competent healer that can get the job done, whether that job is offensive, defensive, or supportive play.

Strengths

Good Magical Bulk

Brady comes with 41 HP and 28 Resistance by default. This high HP combined with decent Resistance makes him decent at resisting magical damage. This Resistance stat can also be buffed quite well in order to make Brady effective with Ploy skills.

Good Offensive Capabilities

33 Attack and 32 Speed is nothing special, but it is sufficient to make Brady a good option for offensive use. While being a healer does hinder his skill options, he does have access to enough skills to bolster his offensive capabilities quite well.

Weaknesses

Low Defense

The main weak point in Brady’s stat line is his Defense stat of 23. He will take considerable damage from physical attacks in general, though his high HP can help him to potentially survive a single hit but not much more. Caution should be taken if he has to defend against physical opponents.

Healer Skill Restrictions

Being a healer, Brady is unfortunately locked out from many skills that would be beneficial to him. Most notably, he has no offensive Specials and cannot use a number of strong A slot skills such as Fury, Life and Death, and Swift Sparrow.
