- Brazen Cat Fang effectively grants Lethe +16 Atk, +13 Spd, +8 Def/Res, neutralization of enemy effects that prevent Lethe’s follow-up, +1 Special charge per attack to Lethe and -1 Special charge per attack to the enemy, and follow-up prevention. Given her high reach via 3 movement and strong offensive presence, Lethe benefits greatly from the additional action granted by Galeforce.
- Assuming no Guard effect is active, Lethe can activate Galeforce after her first initiation if she lands two attacks and the enemy counterattacks. With Quickened Pulse, she doesn’t need an enemy counterattack, making it a valuable Sacred Seal choice (particularly with Desperation in her B slot, as Lethe will likely 2HKO the enemy before they can counterattack).
- Atk/Spd Boosting A slots such as Atk/Spd Catch 4 and Atk/Spd Clash work to maximize Lethe’s offensive capabilities, making them strong choices.
- Inflicting Spd/Def debuffs to the enemy during combat and granting Lethe【Canto (Rem. +1)】to move after combat, S/D Near Trace is an excellent B slot for her. Alternatively, Windsweep prevents physical enemies’ counterattacks, ensuring her safety.
- Rouse Atk/Spd 4 grants Lethe +6 Atk/Spd and【Null Panic】at the start of the turn if she is not adjacent to an ally, which improves her damage and synergizes well with one of her transformation requirements of being adjacent to no allies. Savage Blow also works well, making it easier for both Lethe and her allies to score subsequent KOs via dealing 7 damage to enemies within two spaces of the target after initiation.
- Atk/Spd Solo is Lethe’s strongest and most consistent Sacred Seal, simply granting +6 Atk/Spd during combat if she is not adjacent to an ally. Generally, this condition is easy to achieve given her 3 movement, as it often allows her to choose from multiple spaces to initiate combat.
- For Aether Raids Offense purposes:
- Lethe is a strong Wings of Mercy beacon, a unit that drops to ≤ 50% HP so that allies with Wings of Mercy can warp adjacent to her. By stacking Fury 4 and Fury in her A slot and Sacred Seal respectively, she can drop to this HP range in two combats as long as her max HP is ≤ 56. Windsweep is especially valuable if using double Fury, as Lethe can more safely and consistently decrease her HP.
- Alternatively, she can team with Brave Lysithea or Winter Bernadetta and use Ardent Sacrifice to decrease her HP in intervals of 10 until her HP is ≤ 50%. Brazen Atk/Spd becomes Lethe’s premier A and S slots if arbitrarily decreasing her HP in this way, as it grants +9/10 Atk/Spd and +7 Atk/Spd during combat respectively if Lethe’s HP is ≤ 80%.

- Given her solid offensive statline and plethora of offense-oriented effects in Brazen Cat Fang, Lethe is an excellent Player Phase unit. This set simply focuses on maximizing her damage, with her B slot being flexible enough to have safety options if preferred.
- Granting +16 Atk, +13 Spd, +8 Def/Res, +10 Special damage, neutralization of effects that prevent Lethe’s follow-up, +1 Special charge for Lethe and -1 Special charge on the enemy per attack, and follow-up prevention, Lethe packs a punch in addition to being relatively safe. In particular, the offensive half of Null Follow-Up allows her to use B slots such as Windsweep, Watersweep, and Desperation; the former two prevent counterattacks against physical or melee enemies respectively, and Desperation allows Lethe to perform her follow-up before the enemy can counterattack if her HP is ≤ 75%.
- Assuming no Guard effect is active, Lethe can activate 2-cooldown Specials on her follow-up attack even if the enemy does not counterattack, which is valuable if Lethe is using any of the aforementioned B slots. If she is instead using a B slot such as S/D Near Trace (-3 Spd/Def on enemy during combat and ability to move remaining movement + 1 space after first action of Player Phase) or Lull Spd/Def (-3 Spd/Def and neutralization of enemy’s visible Spd/Def buffs during combat), she can use 3-cooldown Specials instead to dish out even more damage.
- Atk/Spd Boosting A slots maximize Lethe’s damage, making them her strongest A slots. Special mention goes to Atk/Spd Clash and Atk/Spd Catch 4, likely the strongest Atk/Spd Boosting A slots for Cavalry units due to their high ceilings of +10 (realistically +9) for the former and +9 for the latter.
- Rouse Atk/Spd 4 grants Lethe +6 Atk/Spd and【Null Panic】at the start of the turn if she is not adjacent to an ally, which improves her damage and synergizes well with one of her transformation requirements of being adjacent to no allies. Alternatively, Atk/Spd Menace also grants Lethe Atk/Spd +6 at the start of the turn, but instead inflicts -6 Atk/Spd on the closest enemies within four spaces; however, note that neither of these effects activate if no enemies are within four spaces.
- The typical go-to Sacred Seals for offensive units apply to Lethe as well, with Atk/Spd Solo granting +6 Atk/Spd if Lethe is not adjacent to an ally and Blade Session granting +3, +6, or +9 Atk/Spd if zero, one, or at least two ally/allies have already acted.
Strengths
Decent Offenses
While not particularly strong for modern standards, 33/38 offenses still more than suffice for dealing good damage and consistently performing follow-ups with weapons and skills taken into account.
Brazen Cat Fang
As with all other Beast units, Lethe has a personal weapon, hers being Brazen Cat Fang. While relatively underwhelming for a while, update 6.10 significantly strengthened it via a powerful refine.
- At the start of the turn, if Lethe is adjacent to only Dragon and Beast allies or she is not adjacent to any ally at all, she will transform. This grants her +2 base Atk, and on initiation, she inflicts -4 Atk/Def and follow-up prevention on the enemy during combat.
- In addition to granting +3 base Spd, if Lethe initiates combat or is not adjacent to an ally, she gains +6 Atk/Spd, neutralizes effects that prevent her follow-up, and deals +10 damage on Special activation during combat.
- If Lethe’s HP is ≥ 25% at the start of combat, she gains an additional +4 to all stats during combat plus +1 Special charge per attack. If Lethe is transformed, she also inflicts -1 Special charge on the enemy per attack.
Effectively, Brazen Cat Fang gives Lethe +16 Atk, +13 Spd, +8 Def/Res, +10 Special damage, the offensive half of Null Follow-Up, Special Fighter, and an Impact effect. These effects distinguish her from many other Red Player Phase units, as she combines consistency, damage output, and even safety into one neat package. For the latter characteristic in particular, half Null Follow-Up allows her to prevent counterattacks from physical or magical enemies through Windsweep or Watersweep respectively in her B slot, though she has other strong B slots; these include S/D Near Trace, which combines combat and mobility via in-combat Spd/Def debuffs and【Canto (Rem. +1)】respectively, and Lull Spd/Def, which inflicts in-combat Spd/Def debuffs and neutralizes the enemy’s visible Spd/Def buffs during combat.
Cavalry Beast Perks
In addition to the aforementioned Beast transformation bonuses from Brazen Cat Fang, Lethe’s status as a Cavalry unit comes with supplementary benefits such as 3 movement and access to skills such as Atk/Spd Catch, Atk/Spd Clash, the aforementioned S/D Near Trace and Lull Spd/Def, and Rouse Atk/Spd.
Weaknesses
Lackluster Base Bulk
Brazen Cat Fang alleviates Lethe’s relatively poor bulk via effectively +8 Def/Res, an Impact effect, and access to Windsweep and Watersweep, but her mediocre physical bulk and terrible magical bulk at base are still worth mentioning. Even with Brazen Cat Fang taken into account, Lethe may struggle to receive more than one attack before having the sudden epiphany that cats do not, in fact, have nine lives.
Transformation Restrictions
Lethe’s +2 base Atk, -4 Atk/Def infliction on the enemy during combat, Impact effect, and Guard effect are locked behind transformation, which can significantly limit positional options and overall flexibility. Thankfully, none of these effects are particularly vital to Lethe’s offensive potency, though they are generally key to her longevity.
