- In addition to the weapon’s inbuilt Slaying effect, Petra’s refine grants her an inbuilt Tempo effect, 60% Damage reduction against the foe’s first attack, and allows her to negate follow-up prevention effects in addition to granting her a hefty set of stat bonuses, and an upgrade to her weapon’s previous stat bonus: granting a +6 buff to each stat of hers that is lower than that of an ally’s rather than +5 (her own stats are treated as -4 of their base value for the refined weapon as well). This refine is extremely strong, and when coupled with Petra’s already decent stats makes for a great Player Phase unit.
- Petra wants to stack as much Attack and Speed as possible in her A slot and sacred seal to be able to take down as many foes during Player Phase as possible. A slot skills such as Swift Sparrow 3 and Atk/Spd Catch 4, as well as sacred seal slots such as Blade Session and Atk/Spd Solo are excellent for this purpose.
- S/D Far Trace and A/D Far Trace both give Petra a slight stat swing against foes during combat, in addition to Canto. However, as a ranged flier Far Trace’s Canto is much harder to take advantage of than it would be for a comparable cavalier. Seal Def 4 can be a great alternative, allowing Petra to greatly reduce the foe’s Defense during combat: however it’s distribution is heavily limited at the time of writing.
Strengths
Refined Hunting Blade
Petra’s refined Hunting Blade has a plethora of powerful effects, Slaying, Negation of follow-up prevention effects, Tempo, and 60% damage reduction against the foe’s first attack, the latter two only requiring Petra initiate against foes at full HP. Having this many great effects built in on top of giving her a good amount of bonus stats makes this refine exceptional for bolstering Petra’s Player Phase prowess.
Weaknesses
Flying Weakness/Frail
Due to her status as a flier, Petra is cursed with a permanent weakness to bows unless she opts to use Iote’s Shield, meaning bow users will have little to no trouble KO’ing her in a single hit. Her base Defenses are also quite low, with only base 25 Defense and 20 Resistance respectively, meaning if a foe manages to initiate first it’s unlikely she’ll survive the combat regardless of which side the foe hits on.
