Key stats worth increasing through nature if possible.
Complementary stats that matter, but not to the point of picking them over key stats for nature increase.
Relatively worthless stat that can safely be decreased through nature.

Assets

  • +ATK: Attack is one of Tanya’s best choices of asset, as it greatly improves her rather middling raw damage output and is helpful no matter what build she chooses.

  • +SPD: A Speed asset is also an excellent choice, as it allows her to easily perform follow-up attacks on all but the fastest of foes.

Neutral

  • RES: Tanya’s base 28 Resistance should ideally be kept neutral to avoid a 4 point reduction and to preserve her decent magical bulk.

  • DEF: Tanya’s Defense is also rather middling at 25 base. While It makes an acceptable choice of flaw if no other options are available, Defense is best left neutral to avoid another 4 point stat reduction.

Flaws

  • -HP: HP is easily Tanya’s best choice of flaw, as its impact on her performance is negligible thanks to the additional HP granted by weapon refinements.

Alternate: Atk/Spd 2

Show Explanation/Analysis

Preferred IV: +ATK or +SPD / -HP

  • Ideally, Tanya wants to increase her raw damage output or ability to perform follow-up attacks with an Attack or Speed asset respectively. HP is her best choice of flaw, as it affects her performance the least and allows her to preserve her other stats.

Weapon: Firesweep Bow / Shining Bow(+SPD)

  • The Firesweep Bow stops counterattacks from all foes without Null C disrupt when Tanya initiates combat, allowing her to focus on maximizing her offensive prowess while circumventing her middling overall bulk.

  • Tanya can also use her native Shining Bow to good effect, as it grants her an additional +7 Damage if the foe’s Defense exceeds their Resistance.

Assist: Reposition / Preference

Special: Luna

  • Luna is Tanya’s best choice of Special, as it allows her to break through bulky foes easier when it triggers in addition to charging reasonably quickly.

Passive A: Swift Sparrow 2 or 3 / Fury 3

  • Swift Sparrow 3 is a fantastic A slot for a Player Phase centric build, as it grants the user a substantial boost to their Attack and Speed on Player Phase without any drawbacks. Swift Sparrow 2 is also a decent choice on a budget, though not as strong.

  • Fury 3 can also be used on a budget to provide a similar offensive bonus while also granting Tanya some additional bulk, which can be useful should she need to take a hit.

Passive B: Lull Spd/Def / Chill Def

  • Lull Spd/Def reduces the foe’s Speed and Defense by 3 in addition to negating their buffs in these stats, allowing Tanya to circumvent the Foe’s Defensive buffs and perform follow-up attacks with greater ease.

  • Chill Def can also be used to inflict a -7 Defense debuff to the foe with the highest Defense, increasing Tanya and her team’s damage output against the afflicted enemy.

Passive C: Spur Spd/Res 2 / Preference

  • Spur Spd/Res 2 gives Tanya some supportive utility when she isn’t attacking, but her choice of C slot skill is largely up to player preference.

Sacred Seal: Darting Blow / Atk/Spd 2

  • Darting Blow grants Tanya an additional +6 Speed when initiating combat, giving her even greater consistency in securing follow-up attacks.

  • Atk/Spd 2 can also be used to grant Tanya a visible boost to her Attack and Speed.

Red Alert (Defensive)

Guard Bow+ (+Res) A Distant Def 4
Reposition B Null C-Disrupt 3
Alternate: Quick Riposte 3
Luna
Alternate: Aether
C Atk Smoke 3
IVsSDistant Def 3
Alternate: Swift Stance 2

Show Explanation/Analysis

Preferred IV: +ATK / -HP

  • For a defensive build, Tanya should increase her raw damage output with an Attack asset to maximize her enemy phase KO potential. HP is the chosen flaw to preserve Tanya’s defenses.

Weapon: Guard Bow(+RES)

  • The Guard Bow is Tanya’s best option for a defensive build as it grants her a massive boost to her Defense and Resistance when attacked by ranged foes, adding considerably to her durability during Enemy Phase.

Assist: Reposition / Preference

Special: Luna / Aether

  • Luna is still a fantastic choice of special, giving Tanya an easier time breaking through bulkier foes when it activates while also sporting a reasonably fast cooldown.

  • Aether can also be used if self healing is desired, but this comes at the cost of an incredibly long cooldown.

Passive A: Distant Def 4 / Warding Stance 4

  • Distant Defense 4 grants Tanya a massive +9 boost to her Defense and Resistance in addition to the effect of Dull Ranged when attacked by long range foes, making her even more effective as a ranged tank.

  • Warding Stance 4 is also an excellent choice, as it provides a massive boost to Tanya’s Resistance in addition to the Guard effect, which lets her counter Special reliant foes.

Passive B: Null C Disrupt / Mystic Boost / Quick Riposte

  • Null C Disrupt guarantees Tanya’s counterattacks, even against foes who possess Firesweep weapons or Dazzling Staff, letting her solidly counter ranged foes who rely on Firesweep’s protection to avoid counterattacks.

  • Mystic Boost grants Tanya some much appreciated self healing by restoring 6 of her HP after combat while also nullifying adaptive damage and Wrathful Staff, although in most scenarios countering and KOing the Staff user with Null C Disrupt would be preferable.

  • Finally, Quick Riposte can be used on a budget to guarantee Follow-ups during Enemy Phase.

Passive C: Atk Smoke / Preference

  • Atk Smoke inflicts a -7 Attack debuff to all foes within 2 spaces after combat, increasing Tanya’s Enemy Phase durability further.

Sacred Seal: Distant Def / Swift Stance

  • Distant Def makes for an excellent choice of Sacred Seal, increasing Tanya’s Defenses significantly when attacked at range.

  • Swift Stance is a decent alternative to increase Tanya’s Speed and Resistance during the Enemy Phase.

Introduction

As the daughter of Dagdar from the rather obscure Fire Emblem: Thracia 776, Tanya makes a surprise appearance as a rather generic archer with decent stats overall. Her offensive spread of 30/37 is alright, but not particularly amazing compared to offensive juggernauts like Igrene and Legendary Alm, even if she takes an Attack asset to improve her damage output. Her defenses aren’t much to write home about either, and at 66 physical and 69 magical respectively, Tanya will struggle to take more than one decently powerful attack regardless of its type.

Unfortunately, for the most part Tanya is merely an improved Rebecca, and as such remains outclassed in both an offensive and defensive role by other archers, leaving her with almost nothing noteworthy aside from her statline, which is still unremarkable compared to other archers.

However, Despite not posessing anything noteworthy over other archers aside from a boosted statline, Tanya can still perform reasonably well on both offense and defense thanks to her decent overall statline, should one wish to use her.

Strengths

Infantry

Tanya’s status as an infantry unit allows her to use a plethora of skills other movement types lack access to, such as Null C Disrupt and Time’s Pulse.

Fantastic Speed

Tanya’s 37 Speed gives her a great baseline for both performing and avoiding follow-up attacks, especially in conjunction with other Speed boosting skills such as Swift Sparrow.

Weaknesses

Outclassed

While far from the weakest of her class, Tanya has little to offer offensively over other archers such as Klein and Legendary Alm, both whom possess stronger offensive statlines and/or exclusive weapons. She also has severe competition in a defensive role, where archers such as Faye and Halloween Jakob handily outclass her as well.
