  • This build is Genny’s bread and butter, being able to be used even with some budget Skills fairly well and with realistically any IV spread. However, in order to make the most of this build’s strengths, an Attack Asset is recommended the most.
  • Genny possesses a Gravity effect within Springtime Staff, making the Healing Assist Skills Rescue and Return very enticing as Genny can be utilized alongside a Dancer to kite with Gravity, attacking to inflict the debuff and then pulling herself and the Dancer away from danger. Otherwise, Restore+ is useful for debuff cleansing due to the ever present common danger of debuff mechanics.
  • Atk/Res Push 4 improves Genny’s two highest stats even further, making her great at not only dishing out damage but also acting as a magic tank if need be. Springtime Staff’s rejuvenative effects also allows for Atk/Res Push 3 to be used on a budget, though the user must be careful as to ensure Genny always heals back to full HP in order to maintain the stat bonus.
  • Genny’s B Passive for nearly every build she runs is forced to be Wrathful Staff in order to deal full damage to opponents, thankfully she comes with it by default.
  • Time’s Pulse opens the door to consistently use Balm Skills every time Genny uses her Healing Assist Skill, though Savage Blow can be a useful budget Skill that can inflict chip damage to nearby enemies when Genny initiates combat.
  • The choice of Sacred Seal depends on whether Genny wants to inflict further chip damage with Savage Blow in the Seal Slot, or further buff her Attack and Resistance with the Atk/Res Bond Seal.

Passive C: Joint Drive Spd / Odd Spd Wave

Sacred Seal: Atk/Spd Solo / Even Spd Wave

  • This build is extremely specific in the sense of it being a full commitment towards pumping out the most of Genny’s iffy Speed stat. The more pieces you take away from this build, the less enticing of an idea it would seem to be. This build should realistically not be attempted with any IV spread other than possessing Genny’s Speed Super Asset.
  • For the A Passive, Atk/Spd Push 4 is ideal to boost Genny’s Attack and Speed as much as possible. Genny herself has perfect synergy with Push Skills thanks to Springtime Staff, so she will be able to even make do with Atk/Spd Push 3 on a budget if need be. However, if running Push 3, careful steps must be taken to ensure that Genny does not take more damage than she can rejuvenate.
  • Joint Drive Spd will increase Genny’s Speed stat by 4 when near an ally, giving her another much needed boost to her low Speed stat. On a tight budget, Odd Spd Wave can be taken in the C Passive which can be obtained through Halloween Rolf in the Heroic Grail Shop.
  • For the Sacred Seal, Atk/Spd Solo gives a further boost to Genny’s Attack and Speed during combat, while Even Spd Wave can be a decent alternative, especially if running Odd Spd Wave in the C Passive Slot.

Strengths

Very High Attack for an Early Healer

While Genny’s Attack is not quite on par with some Staff users that sport much higher Attack, Genny still sports one of the higher Attack stats among early Staff units. Combined with Attack boosts from Skills and her Weapon, this can make Genny hit very hard if built correctly.

Springtime Staff

Springtime Staff proves to be a nifty unique Weapon for Genny, giving her Attack+3, possessing inbuilt Dazzling Staff to prevent enemy counter attacks when she initiates combat, and then possessing the same effect as Gravity+. Once refined, the Springtime Staff gives Genny +5 Attack/Resistance during combat if she initiates or is within two spaces or less from an ally, as well as healing Genny and nearby allies by 7 HP after combat. Springtime Staff effectively helps push Genny’s Attack to be on par with most modern high Attack staff units which gives her a much needed boost to her damage output. The post combat heal also gives Genny perfect synergy with Push Skills, allowing her to theoretically maintain them forever.

Weaknesses

Extremely Low Physical Bulk

While Genny sports impressive Resistance, the same cannot be said for her Defense and HP. Genny absolutely cannot afford to take physical attacks in most instances, relying on her inbuilt Dazzling Staff effect within Springtime Staff and careful kiting in order to make sure physical opponents do not strike her down in one fell swoop.

Speed is Atrocious without Proper Investment

Genny possesses a Speed Super Asset, but even that only pushes her Speed from a base value of 25 to a value of 29. While there are an assortment of Skills that can boost Genny’s Speed, she will need heavy investment in order to reach a passable Speed stat to where she can land natural follow-up attacks against a wide variety of targets.

Reliance on the Wrathful Staff B Passive

Springtime Staff possessing an inbuilt Dazzling Staff effect is a double-edged sword. While this refine does synergize with the fact that Genny comes with Wrathful Staff in her base kit by default, it does mean that Genny is locked behind using the Wrathful Staff B Passive in order to deal full damage against her opponents and actually take advantage of her massive Attack potential. This means that even if Genny wanted to run Skills such as Lull Atk/Res, Genny would not be able to deal full damage on her opponents by running other B Passives which puts her in a strange situation of being forced into a single B Passive for nearly every build she utilizes. While one could build Genny for pure utility, that would be wasting her main selling point of high Attack as a Staff user as there are plenty of other Staff users that can provide stronger utility than Genny.
