  • Robin is also highly effective with the plethora of inheritable blue tomes at his disposal, such as Tannenbit, which gives him a fantastic source of healing and allows him to utilize a damage Special for increased damage output, or the Flora Guide, which allows him to significantly decrease the Enemy’s Speed and Resistance, greatly improving Robin’s damage output, Especially in conjunction with Lull Atk/Res or Lull Spd/Res. Keep in mind that these weapons are somewhat difficult to acquire due to their Seasonal-locked status, however.
  • Close Foil remains ideal to take advantage of Robin’s decent Defense and counterattack physical foes, and Pulse Smoke allows him to slow down enemy Specials, increasing his durability further. Robin’s C slot is variable according to the team’s needs, however.
  • Finally, Swift Stance is a solid sacred seal choice if one decides to invest in his Speed, while Mirror Stance and Quick Riposte are great choices as well. In particular, Quick Riposte alongside Speed investment allows Robin to double slow Impact skill users such as Tibarn without the need for Null Follow-up.

  • Robin’s exclusive weapon allows him to buff his allies while functioning as a strong check to Colorless foes, particularly in conjunction with Null C-Disrupt, as it allows him to counterattack Healers with Dazzling Staff.
  • Close Foil grants Robin an additional +5 Attack and Defense in combat against physical foes, and in most regards functions as a straight upgrade to Close Counter, as Close Counter’s only advantage over Close Foil is the ability to counterattack Dragons, and Robin’s Resistance is too low to deal with most dragons regardless. Lull Atk/Res and Quick Riposte are good alternatives to increase Robin’s Durability and damage or to guarantee follow-up attacks on Enemy Phase, respectively.
  • Pulse Smoke is a solid choice of C slot for defensive units, allowing them to prevent special triggers by increasing the enemy’s special cooldown by 1 after combat. Joint Drive Atk is also a good option, as it enhances Robin’s supportive utility.
  • Finally, a defensive sacred seal such as Mirror Stance rounds off Robin’s kit nicely.

  • Using the inheritable Spooky Censer, Robin is also a fairly effective Aoe Spiral Mage.
  • Spooky Censer grants Robin Fury 3, and when combined with an offensive A slot skill such as Swift Sparrow, raises his damage output to reasonable levels.
  • Special Spiral and an Aoe Special are necessary to the build’s function, although the Aoe Special used depends on personal preference. Special Spiral, on the other hand, is necessary as it allows Robin to have his AOE specials constantly active after his first Special activation, provided he isn’t hit by Pulse Smoke or Witchy Wand.
  • Finally, the Flashing Blade and Heavy Blade Sacred Seal serve to quicken Robin’s Special access, although he will need team support to consistently trigger their effects.

Strengths

Decent Physical Bulk

Robin’s base Physical bulk of 69(74 if resplendent) is fairly decent for a mage, and this gives him decent matchups against non-green physical foes, especially against colorless bow and dagger users when using his default Tactical Bolt.

Infantry

Robin’s infantry status is also a massive boon, as it grants him access to a plethora of class exclusive skills such as Null C-Disrupt, Null Follow-up, and Special Spiral. It also lacks a weakness to many forms of effective weaponry that plague other movement types.

Weaknesses

Middling Statline

Despite his reasonably good Defense for a mage, Robin’s overall statline leaves him without any other particularly outstanding features compared to other Blue mages, as he has no stat higher than 30 aside from his HP. Even with his resplendent, none of his stats reach above base 32 without assets factored in. 

Lacking Resistance

Robin also suffers from a fairly low Resistance stat, leaving him vulnerable to other mages without further investment in his Resistance. Dragons will also defeat Robin easily due to their generally high bulk and adaptive damage, allowing them to hit Robin where it hurts the most while shrugging off his attacks.
