  • Selena’s standout offensive statline combined with the strong capabilities of Exotic Fruit Juice and her five-tile range make a Player Phase build an obvious choice for her. Taking an Asset to either one of her offensive stats is recommended to compliment this build’s focus on her damage output. 
  • Specials that scale off of an opponent’s defensive stats like Moonbow and Luna are preferred to provide burst damage, though Glimmer also pairs nicely due to this set’s high offensive ceiling. Glimmer and Moonbow also pair quite well with the Desperation + Heavy Blade combination. 
  • Selena’s native Atk/Spd Push is a fantastic choice for A slot skill, though Swift Sparrow 3 and Atk/Spd Solo 4 are valid alternatives should one dislike its recoil damage. To circumvent her poor bulk, Fury is also an option. Her B slot should have a similar offensive focus, with her best options being Desperation (for consecutive follow-ups), Lull skills (to break through enemy bonuses), and Spd/Res Snag for budget builds. 
  • Her C slot is pretty flexible, though class-exclusive buffs are always solid candidates as are Smoke skills if refresher support is available. Lastly, any seal that enhances Selena’s offensive statline can be equipped, or the Heavy Blade seal if using Moonbow or Glimmer alongside Desperation.

  • Although Selena’s poor bulk may discourage one from attempting a defensive build, she can still shine in the Enemy Phase through a standard OHKO Vantage setup. A +ATK IV is ideal to maximize her raw damage output. 
  • Selena’s PRF is a perfectly fine choice since it already provides her with a significant +9 damage boost by itself, but it can be swapped out for a Gronnblade tome for its greater offensive ceiling; however, this does leave her weak to Panic effects. 
  • Aside from Vantage, it's vital to equip Selena with a skill that enables counterattacks regardless of range to cleanly sweep through all enemy types in the Enemy Phase upon losing enough HP.  Close Foil is preferred if using her in Aether Raids Offense given how uncommon dragonstone users are on defense teams, but Close Counter can still be used should one wish to be safe and/or if using her in other content. 
  • For her Special,  Selena can use low cooldown options like Glimmer and Moonbow for their frequent activation rate. Alternatively, Miracle can be equipped to provide some much-needed survivability since even with Vantage, taking damage isn’t always avoidable. 
  • Pulse Smoke is recommended if using Selena in Aether Raids to shut down Infantry Pulse setups, otherwise Res Smoke is better to increase her damage. skills further develop his proficiency at tanking and should be taken here. Most Attack-increasing seals will work perfectly fine here. Fierce Stance is a standout as it requires no additional setup, but Brazen seals are options that synergize with Vantage’s HP threshold.

Strengths

Exotic Fruit Juice

Although its effects are rather simple, Exotic Fruit Juice remains an effective component of Selena’s kit that enables her to function as a powerful nuke while remaining entirely self-sufficient. 

Fantastic Offensive Stats

With an evenly distributed 37 Attack and Speed, Selena’s standout statline further cements the strong offensive potential set by her exclusive weapon and movement type, and allows her to easily dish out large sums of damage. This is not to mention her access to four-point Assets in both of these stats, which only highlights her sheer potential even more. 

Cavalry

As a cavalry unit, Selena benefits from access to class-exclusive buffs and an effective five-tile range through her extended mobility.

Weaknesses

Poor Defensive Stats

Due to the majority of her resources going to her offensive potential, Selena’s defensive capabilities are extremely poor and render her averse to most forms of sustained offensive pressure. 

Cavalry

Although being a cavalry unit does come with its advantages, it also places limitations on Selena through factors such as restricted skill availability, a debilitating weakness to cavalry effective weaponry, and the inability to traverse terrain like trenches.
