Show Explanation/Analysis

Weapon: Grado Poleax (+Eff)

Assist: Positional Assist

Special: Noontime / Sol

Passive A: Sturdy Stance / Close Def

Passive B: Slick Fighter / Special Fighter

Passive C: A/D Near Save / Odd Atk Wave

Sacred Seal: Mystic Boost / Close Def

  • There are two main builds when it comes to A Near Save unit with a Slaying prf.
  • The first is that Amelia can run enemy cooldown nullification in her A slot with a skill like Sturdy Stance or Bracing Stance, alongside Slick Fighter. This option allows her to nullify penalties, which makes it easier to safely buff her. This has the added bonus of fulfilling her Grado Poleax requirements, which grants her an additional +5 Spd / + 5 Def.
  • The second choice is to give her Special Fighter, which allows her to take a 3 CD Special like Sol (for sustain) or Bonfire (for damage). Her cooldown acceleration and Slaying prf allows her to retaliate with a 3 CD special after she is attacked once. For this, she can also take Close Def for the higher defensive buff, but then loses her ability to safely give herself stats, which can make activating her Poleax difficult.
  • Mystic Boost in her seal slot helps Amelia's sustain, or she can stack her Defense even more with Close Def.
  • This build is meant to work as a Near Save tank, where Amelia can tank through melee threats for her team, but it can also work on a budget with a Wave skill, which allows her to buff herself in order to fulfill the requirements of her prf so she can access additional stats.

Show Explanation/Analysis

Weapon: Grado Poleax (+Eff)

Assist: Positional Assist

Special: Galeforce

Passive A: Death Blow / Atk/Spd Boosting A Slot

Passive B: Bold Fighter / Special Fighter

Passive C: Armor March / Def Smoke

Sacred Seal: Atk/Spd Solo / Death Blow

  • With her Slaying weapon, Amelia does not need to be counterattacked in order to activate Galeforce, thanks to Bold Fighter. This also allows her to circumvent Follow-Up prevention in situations where she naturally outspeeds her foe, as Bold Fighter's guaranteed Follow-Up will counteract the enemy's skill, returning things to a Speed check.
  • However, Special Fighter can also be considered if you can stack Amelia's Speed with her A slot, which gives her a little more flexibility in terms of being able to tank in the Enemy Phase. However, Special Fighter does have an HP threshold, so watch out that she doesn't fall below it.
  • Armor March helps Amelia to reach her foe, particularly if used with a Smite from one of her allies

Strengths

Fast Armor

Amelia is an armor unit with a salvageable Speed stat, made even better by her Resplendent. This allows her to take a skill like Special Fighter in her B slot, since she doesn't need to worry as much about guaranteeing follow-ups. This also can help prevent her from being doubled, which allows her defensive bulk to stretch a lot further.

Grado Poleax

While Grado Poleax isn't exactly anything to write home about, it's still a 16 mt Slaying weapon with an additional stat-boosting effect. This can come in handy as it helps to patch up her lower Attack stat while still granting her access to instant Noontime activations in the Enemy Phase.

Resplendent

Due to her status as an armored trainee, Amelia can still carry some relevancy with her resplendent version, since she already had a well-rounded statline to begin with.

Weaknesses

Low Resistance

Amelia's Resistance is low enough that she'll struggle against mages and dragons, making her best suited for physical-only combat.

Skill-Based Follow-Up Mechanics

Amelia relies solely on her Speed stat in order to prevent enemy follow-ups and secure her own. This means that she is very weak to auto-followup skills, such as Legendary Sigurd or Halloween Myrrh. Since she has so many stat points invested in her Speed, she loses points in her other stats and so units who render her Speed invalid via follow-up skills are a big threat to her.

She can get around this by running skills like Odd Follow-Up, but those types of skills are generally less desirable than B slots which can actually help her in combat vs regular enemies.
