- Bridal Sophia debuts as Sophia’s second appearance as a Tome Flier, and with that comes all the drawbacks associated with it: Limited skill access and an innate weakness to bows. Thankfully, compared to her Halloween counterpart Bridal Sophia at least has a decent exclusive weapon capable of performing automatic follow-up attacks (With the standard spectrum stat boost and a raventome effect slapped in), so she can perform adequately in a player phase role.
- Bridal Sophia’s Speed is too low to salvage, so she’s better off investing into either extra Defense or Resistance in addition to buffing her Attack with skills such as Atk/Def Catch 4 and Atk/Res Push 4.
- A/R Far Trace is one of Bridal Sophia’s only… I mean best B slot options thanks to the debuff it provides, although the Canto it provides is difficult for Bridal Sophia to take much advantage of. On a budget she can run Chill Res in its place (Mostly due to a lack of better alternatives but hey you make do).
- Sophia’s best sacred seal options are much the same as those in her A slot: Atk/Def Solo, Sturdy Blow, Atk/Res Solo, etc.
Imagine spending 199 turns getting this support to A rank (Enemy Phase)

Sacred Seal: Iote’s Shield
- Bridal Sophia can perform reasonably well as an enemy phase unit thanks to her inbuilt automatic follow-up attacks, and having a Raventome effect certainly helps when it comes to taking on colorless bow users.
- Enemy Phase A slot skills such as Mirror Stance 3/Sturdy Stance 3(For Guard) Unity Skills (For Debuff protection) and Distant Def 4 (Buff negation) are great options for Sophia depending on what threats she wants to tackle. She can also use Close Foil reasonably well thanks to her high Defense.
- Mystic Boost gives Sophia some much needed sustain as well as negating adaptive damage (Although her Defense and Resistance stats are similar, so this doesn’t make a significant difference to her in most cases).
- Unfortunately, as a flier tank Bridal Sophia is essentially forced to run Iote’s shield if she wants to consistently counter colorless bows. Such is life. Other defensive Sacred Seal options such as Distant Def are usable options, but bear in mind that using them will compromise her matchups against most colorless bows even with the effect of her exclusive weapon, and Iote’s Shield allows her to take better advantage of her tome’s raven effect.
Strengths
Dragon Bouquet
Bridal Sophia’s Dragon Bouquet is quite a good weapon, giving her a Raventome effect in addition to a stat boost and automatic follow-up attacks as long as her HP is 25% or higher (Read: this will basically always be active)
Statline
Aside from her Speed, Bridal Sophia’s statline is solid. Base 36 Defense and 34 Resistance mean she’s well accustomed to taking hits on either side of the spectrum, but her most notable feature statwise is her base 40 Attack, which lets her hit harder than she’d ever hoped to in her base game.
Weaknesses
Ranged Flier
Being a ranged flier is extremely bad for many reasons. Firstly they lack access to most B slot options, leaving them stuck with the bare minimum bread crumbs they can scrape up, with skills such as A/R Far Trace and Mystic Boost typically being some of the only decent options they have for their B slot. This flaw is the one most detrimental to ranged fliers as it leaves them with very little skill options that aren’t gimmicky flier movement B slots, and as a result leaves almost every ranged flier struggling to keep up with the meta at large. Ranged fliers are also plagued by a weakness to bows, which is particularly detrimental to tanky ranged fliers like Bridal Sophia which are subsequently forced to run Iote’s shield to avoid the weakness entirely, leaving them with less stats to work with than tanks of other movement types. But hey at least Bridal Sophia’s got good art!
Terrible Speed
Bridal Sophia’s poor Speed leaves her vulnerable to follow-up attacks from all but the absolute slowest units in the game. This also makes fighting foes with Speed based damage reduction skills such as Yen’fay significantly more difficult, as they will have no trouble gaining the full effect of their damage reduction on account of Bridal Sophia’s terrible Speed.
