  • Cath boasts extremely high Speed and decent Attack, making a Player Phase build an obvious choice for her. As a Dagger unit, Cath has plenty of weapon choices as well: the Vicious Dagger, Quick Dagger, Barb Shuriken, and Bone Carver are all excellent weapon choices. The Effective damage Daggers are also a decent choice should a player desire to make Cath more effective against specific foes, but they’re somewhat situational otherwise.
  • Cath has many options to increase her Special cooldown, making Lethality a decent option when used alongside Flashing Blade, Time’s Pulse, and the Barb Shuriken as those will enable her to trigger it every round of combat as long as Cath’s can activate Flashing Blade successfully.
  • Other than Flashing Blade, Cath will mainly want A slot skills that boost her Attack and Speed such as Atk/Spd Unity and Atk/Spd Ideal. 
  • Windsweep should only be used alongside the Vicious Dagger as it negates it’s self inflicted follow-up attack prevention penalty, but with the Vicious Dagger it’s a great option as it allows Cath to avoid dangerous counterattacks from Physical foes. Otherwise, Cath’s best B slot options are Lull Spd/Def and Null Follow-Up for buff negation and disabling automatic follow-ups respectively.
  • Attack and Speed boosting sacred seals such as Blade Session and Atk/Spd Solo are great options for her seal slot, although she can also opt to use Flashing Blade as a sacred seal to run a different A slot skill.

Strengths

Statline

Cath’s Attack is quite decent at base 36, but her main draw statwise is her incredible base 43 Speed, which gives her a very easy time performing follow-up attacks against most foes that lack follow-up prevention skills(which she can negate with Null Follow-Up).

Weaknesses

Middling Bulk

While not terrible, her average base 30 Resistance and 27 Defense leave her vulnerable to being KO’d quickly by hard-hitting foes of all kinds.

Lacks an exclusive weapon

Cath’s lack of an exclusive weapon makes it difficult for her to stand out compared to dagger units with exclusive weapons themselves, such as Lelia and Kagero.
