  • This build’s goal is to make Sophia an incredibly sturdy Enemy Phase tank, as her exclusive Eternal Tome grants her the Raventome effect in addition to the effect of Bracing Stance 2, allowing her to become a potent check to the plethora of colorless threats present in AR Defense teams.
  • For Sophia’s Special, a healing Special such as Sol or Noontime is ideal to give Sophia additional self sustain, making her even harder to KO as a result.
  • For Sophia’s passive A and B, she has a wide variety of options that work well. Close Counter allows her to counterattack melee foes, but she can also opt for Mirror Stance 3 and Distant Def 4 if melee foes are not a concern, as many AR Defense threats are primarily ranged units. Distant Def 3 and Mirror Stance 2 also work well on a budget, although not as potent as their upgraded counterparts. For Sophia’s B slot, Lull Atk/Res makes her even sturdier while increasing her damage output by reducing the foe’s Attack and Resistance by 3 while negating the Foe’s buffs in these stats. She can also use Null-C Disrupt to completely counter colorless healers with Dazzling Staff, who would pose a significant threat otherwise. Finally, Special Spiral can be used with Noontime to give her an Instantly charged Noontime during every combat after the first. Quick Riposte is also a solid choice on a budget, as it allows Sophia to perform follow-up attacks in spite of her poor Speed.
  • Sophia’s ideal choice of C slot is Pulse Smoke, as it allows her to circumvent otherwise dangerous enemy specials. However, other C slot options such as Atk Smoke can also work well.
  • For Sophia’s Sacred Seal, Quick Riposte is her best choice if not used in her B slot, but Defensive Sacred Seals like Distant Def and Mirror Stance are also good choices.

Strengths

Eternal Tome

Sophia’s exclusive Eternal Tome functions as a Raven Tome with Bracing Stance built in, improving her Enemy Phase durability and allowing her to serve as a potent check to colorless units.

Good Defenses

Sophia’s Defenses are quite high for a mage, and with a defensive spread of 28/29, she’ll take hits reasonably well. If one opts to purchase her resplendent version, her Defenses are increased further to a base spread of 30/31, which can potentially rival Winter Tharja’s defenses with Dragonflowers factored in.

Weaknesses

Terrible Speed

Regardless of whether one decides to purchase her resplendent form or not, Sophia’s Speed will remain her greatest weakness. At a lackluster base value of 19(21 If resplendent) Sophia will struggle to avoid follow-up attacks from nearly every foe. This also leaves her hard pressed to perform Follow-up attacks on her own without the aid of skills such as Quick Riposte.
