Show Explanation/Analysis

Weapon: Firesweep Bow+ / Bouquet Bow+ (+Spd)

  • Through its negation of her opponent’s ability to counterattack, the Firesweep Bow enables Bridal Louise to circumvent her poor physical bulk and focus entirely on maximizing her damage output.

  • Alternatively, she can keep her default weapon, Bouquet Bow, trading in Firesweep Bow’s relative safety in exchange for a considerable boost to her offensive capabilities through its effect of built-in Swift Sparrow. It also has the additional benefit of being refineable, with a Speed refine being highly recommended to build upon her ability to consistently perform follow-up attacks.

Assist: Reposition / Flexible

Special: Luna / Moonbow

  • Luna is Bridal Louise’s ideal choice of Special, providing her with a much-needed damage boost against particularly bulky foes who would otherwise prove to be quite troublesome to take down. Its three-turn cooldown also allows her to make use of it fairly often; assuming that she is consistently able to double her opponent, it will activate in every other round of combat regardless of her chosen weapon.

  • Although generally inferior to Luna, Moonbow makes for a nice option if utilizing the Firesweep Bow, as it can be paired with the Quickened Pulse seal to ensure that she can activate her Special in her first round of combat without requiring that she accumulate Special charges beforehand.

Passive A: Atk/Spd Solo / Swift Sparrow / Fury / Life and Death / Brazen Atk/Spd

  • Atk/Spd Solo is a fantastic option for Bridal Louise’s A slot, offering her a massive offensive in-combat boost without detracting significantly from her overall bulk or necessitating an excessive amount of prior set-up. Additionally, its positioning requirement, while potentially hindering depending on one’s personal playstyle, will generally be a non-issue as Bridal Louise will typically be away from her allies when initiating combat anyway.

  • In exchange for providing a slightly lesser boost to her offenses, Swift Sparrow makes for a worthwhile consideration thanks to its relatively greater availability; it also carries no positioning requirement, possessing no prerequisite conditions for battle other than simply initiating combat.

  • Fury can be taken to simultaneously increase Bridal Louise’s offensive potential and overall bulk. This grants her the flexibility of potentially being able to take a single hit on the Enemy Phase with Firesweep sets, in addition to seeing formidable use if utilizing any other weapon thanks to its fantastic synergy with Desperation.

  • Should one wish to maximize Bridal Louise’s damage output as much as possible without investing too heavily, Life and Death (which carries the demerit of disallowing the use of Ploys entirely) and Brazen Atk/Spd (which can be quite impractical if using the Firesweep Bow) can be considered, though they both can potentially require an extensive amount of outside support to maintain levels of consistency on par with any of the aforementioned options.

Passive B: Chill Spd / Chill Def / Swordbreaker / Desperation

  • If equipped with the Firesweep Bow, Bridal Louise can forget the need to utilize Desperation as her chosen B slot skill entirely in favor of other alternatives. This includes:

    • On top of potentially providing team support, Chill Spd helps Bridal Louise secure follow-up attacks on opposing speedsters whom she would otherwise find difficulty in doubling and likely speed-tie against.

    • Chill Def is also an excellent choice to increase Bridal Louise’s raw damage output dramatically against foes with exceptionally high Defense stats. It does carry the potential risk of lowering Luna’s and Moonbow’s damage, though this difference will typically be small enough such that this does not detract too heavily from Chill Def’s overall effectiveness.

    • On a budget, one can run a Breaker skill, such as Swordbreaker, to transform Bridal Louise into a formidable counter to a particular weapon type that her allies may find difficulty in dealing with. Other options include Cancel Affinity, Wings of Mercy, and Poison Strike, with the choice of which to pick ultimately being up to personal preference.

  • If equipped with any other weapon, however, Desperation will be of the utmost necessity to ensure her ability to freely engage in extended rounds of combat without having to worry about being killed in retaliation.

Passive C: Even Atk Wave / Even Spd Wave / Hone Cavalry / Flexible

  • Even Atk Wave and Even Spd Wave are both stellar options to make her much more self-sufficient, however, neither of them are truly necessary in order for her to function properly and can easily be replaced by another skill of one’s choosing depending on personal preference. Particularly in a cavalry setting, class-exclusive buffs such as her native Hone Cavalry are highly recommended.

Sacred Seal: Darting Blow / Brazen Atk/Spd / Quickened Pulse

  • Darting Blow pairs perfectly with this build’s intended playstyle and further builds upon Bridal Louise’s ability to perform follow-up attacks for increased damage output; combined with the effects of skills such as Atk/Spd Solo, this ensures that Bridal Louise will be able to double all but the absolute fastest of foes.

  • The Brazen Atk/Spd seal is an excellent pick for Desperation builds (and possibly Firesweep sets depending on the support with which she is provided), granting her an appreciable +7 in-combat boost to both of her offensive stats upon reaching its HP threshold.

  • Otherwise, the Atk/Spd 2, Speed +3, and Attack +3 seals (or any of their variants) can be used here to grant her a solid boost to her offensive capabilities.

SDistant Def 3
Alternate: Quick Riposte 3

Show Explanation/Analysis

Weapon: Guard Bow+ (+Spd/Res)

  • Taking on a much more defensively oriented approach to her intended playstyle, Guard Bow’s effect of built-in Distant Def allows Bridal Louise to make the greatest use of her respectable amount of magical bulk and good Speed to function as a capable anti-mage unit. A Speed refine is ideal to increase her overall survivability via a lesser likelihood of being doubled, though a Resistance refine is also a good choice to directly reduce the amount of damage she receives from opposing mages.

Assist: Reposition / Flexible

Special: Moonbow / Iceberg

  • Moonbow’s relatively low cooldown makes it a standout candidate for Bridal Louise’s Special; combined with Quick Riposte, it is guaranteed to activate in every single round of combat. Although Glimmer also boasts a similarly low cooldown, her damage output is not high enough to warrant its usage.

  • In exchange for slightly longer cooldown, Iceberg can be taken to offer her a considerably stronger (and more consistent) damage boost upon Special activations, scaling well with this build’s strong focus on heightening her Resistance stat.

Passive A: Distant Def / Warding Stance 4 / Atk/Spd Bond

  • Distant Def 4 is a stellar, albeit highly expensive, choice of A slot skill that enables her to easily trade blow with opposing ranged opponents, granting her a massive +8 in-combat boost to both of her defensive stats in addition to nullifying any enemy bonuses. This latter effect, in particular, is extremely valuable, especially given the increasing prominence of field buffs in enemy team compositions.

    • Should it be unavailable, Distant Def 3 makes for a perfectly fine substitute and will generally produce similar results.

  • Warding Stance 4 is another premium skill that lends itself wonderfully to this build’s intended playstyle. Although taking it instead of Distant Def does leave her much more susceptible against archers and dagger units, Warding Stance 4’s Guard-like effect of Special deceleration more than makes up for it. When taken into consideration with its phenomenal +8 boost to her Resistance stat in the Enemy Phase, this skill transforms Bridal Louise into an exceedingly competent check to mages and stand tall against those who rely on fast Special activations to maximize their damage output.

  • Bridal Louise’s native Atk/Spd Bond is also a solid option that serves to simultaneously enhance her raw damage output and survivability,  merely necessitating that she has at least one adjacent ally in order to benefit from the skill’s powerful effect.

Passive B: Quick Riposte / Chill Spd / Guard

  • Quick Riposte is a pivotal component of this build as any kind of Speed-stacking here is meant only to improve her ability to deny follow-up attacks as opposed to performing them. Utilizing it as her chosen B slot skill is a fantastic option to granting her the flexibility of taking a stat boosting seal for further specialization.

  • Alternatively, Bridal Louise can be equipped with the Quick Riposte seal instead to take another B slot skill, most notable of which being Chill Spd. This combination allows her to gain a substantial improvement to her combat prowess in the Enemy Phase, granting greater survivability through a higher chance of denying her opponent’s follow-up attack while simultaneously ensuring her own.

  • If Warding Stance 4 is not used as her chosen A slot skill, Guard may be considered as well to circumvent the loss of the skill’s effect of Special deceleration and strengthen her proficiency at performing as a wall to ranged opponents.

Passive C: Atk Smoke / Def Smoke / Hone Cavalry / Flexible

  • Atk Smoke and Def Smoke both complement this build’s defensively oriented playstyle incredibly well, allowing her to weaken multiple foes to easily decimate them in subsequent rounds of combat following the first.

  • Class-exclusive buffs like her native Hone Cavalry are once again recommended if using her alongside fellow cavalry allies. Otherwise, feel free to use anything that most greatly benefits her team.

Sacred Seal: Distant Def / Warding Stance / Quick Riposte

  • The Distant Def seal makes for a great choice, as stacking it with Guard Bow grants her a staggering +12 in-combat boost to both of her defensive stats upon being attacked by a ranged foe. In addition to making her quite resilient against magical attacks, this also provides her with the flexibility of being able to tank a physical hit if necessary.

  • Should it be unavailable, the Warding Stance seal is a fine substitute that will similarly augment her magical resilience in the Enemy Phase, however, do note that it does nothing to enhance her physical bulk.

  • Lastly, as previously mentioned, the Quick Riposte seal may be taken to free up her B slot for other options that are not yet available as seals, such as Chill Spd and Guard.

Strengths

Decent Offenses

Bridal Louise’s base offensive stat spread of 31/34, albeit not particularly exceptional, is respectable enough such that she can perform satisfactorily as an offensive nuke when capitalized on with the proper set-up and support.

Good Resistance

Her good base Resistance stat of 30 lets her make good use of Ploys to enhance both her and her allies’ overall performance. In addition, combined with her surprisingly high amount of HP relatively speaking, Bridal Louise possesses the ability to take up the mantle of solid anti-mage unit if necessary.

Cavalry

As a cavalry unit, Bridal Louise is able to benefit from a number of key strengths, most notable of which being her access to class-exclusive buffs and exceptional mobility.

Weaknesses

Poor Physical Bulk

Despite her relatively high HP pool for an archer, Bridal Louise’s physical bulk is downright terrible. This makes it absolutely pivotal that she be kept out of harm’s way from opposing physical attackers in the Enemy Phase as she risks being flat out OHKO’d by such foes otherwise.

Cavalry

In addition to being weak against cavalry-effective weaponry as well as unable to traverse certain terrain, Bridal Louise is disallowed access to a variety of different skills, limiting her overall potential greatly.
