  • This set is centered around making the most of Plumeria’s overwhelming capacity for support, proving a great asset to any team through her varied array of strengths: a high base Resistance, the power of her exclusive skills, ability to provide useful mobility-based support, and flexible movement. A +RES IV works best if aiming to focus on her ability to land debuffing skills, while +ATK helps Plumeria obtain stronger damage in the instance that she needs to fight and can also be used to draw away Chill Atk.
  • Fort. Def/Res is a stellar A slot if hoping to maximize Plumeria’s consistency at landing Sabotage and/or Ploy skills, while also helping mitigate her poor Defense somewhat; it does inflict -2 Attack on the dark fairy but again, she shouldn’t really be seeing combat here so this is negligible. Fury is another choice that -- while less potent at boosting her Resistance -- lends itself to a more generalist approach while still enhancing her visible stats, though her base Atk/Res Push is perfectly serviceable on a budget.
    • Although it does nothing to enhance her support or combat potential, R Duel Flying may be a worthwhile consideration to make here if aiming to use Plumeria in Colosseum related modes to boost her scoring potential.
  • Sabotage skills -- such as her base Sabotage Spd -- are a perfect accompaniment to Plumeria’s base support capabilities and leverage her high Resistance to apply map-wide debuffs on opposing foes; the matter of whether to keep Sabotage Spd or swap out for another will depend on her specific team. Alternatively, if one is content with the debuffs she can already apply via Sweet Dreams, movement-based skills like Wings of Mercy and Aerobatics can be a great asset to improve her maneuverability.
  • The C slot is flexible since virtually any support skill that one has readily available can be used here, but some standout options do exist. Most notably, thanks to her flying status, Plumeria can equip abilities like Ground Orders and Guidance (which are exclusive to the movement type) to greatly augment her allies’ mobility. Although one can potentially leverage her base Atk/Res Rein to support her allies, it can be unwieldy to use in such a way as it is meant to be a mostly selfish skill, so doing so is generally not recommended.
  • Plumeria’s choice of seal is equally flexible -- forms in-combat buffs may be of particular value here to build upon the bonuses she already applies, but anything that compliments her team composition works.

  • Thanks to her innately high Resistance, Plumeria can prove quite effective at performing as a dedicated magic tank; this quality is especially valuable during Astra season given her red coloring and the presence of Thrasir on enemy team compositions. A +RES IV makes for a natural fit to enhance her resilience to magical attacks, but +ATK remains a great option to land more consistent OHKOs and/or if using healing Specials.
  • Plumeria’s Flower of Plenty may be kept should one wish to retain some of her support, but otherwise her PRF can be safely swapped out in favor of something else -- and if one chooses to do so, a +RES refine should be taken to fortify her magical durability.
    • Conch Bouquet is an interesting weapon that combines a powerful Atk/Res boost with built-in healing while having functionality in both phases; however, it does come at the cost of only working for one combat in each phase.
    • If this is deemed undesirable, Rauðrfox functions similarly and effectively enhances all of Plumeria’s stats through the in-combat debuff it applies on her opponent but loses out on Conch Bouquet’s healing.
    • For a pure defensive boost, Rauðrserpent should be considered as it offers the greatest boost to Plumeria’s Resistance via its built-in Distant Def effect.
  • Mirror Stance synergizes wonderfully with this build’s intended playstyle -- not only does it boost the dark fairy’s Attack and Resistance by an ample amount in the Enemy Phase, but its third-tier version also comes with built-in Guard for protection against foes’ Specials. Distant Def is another defensive-oriented skill that works well here, with its upgraded version carrying the bonus of negating enemy bonuses. Her native Atk/Res Push offers a stronger enhancement to the aforementioned stats and even works in the Player Phase as well, but one should be cautious about the chip damage it inflicts.
  • Plumeria’s choice of B slot has room for variances, as the best option depends on how selfish one wants her to be:
    • Should one wish to keep the focus on maintaining her supportive capabilities, Wings of Mercy makes for a great selection for improved mobility. Other commonly used skills like Aerobatics may also suit this goal.
    • For a mix of utility to both Plumeria’s and her allies’ performances, Sabotage skills are a highly valuable alternative since everyone can benefit from the debuffs applied with them -- that being said, she won’t gain much by keeping her native Sabotage Spd as she’s unlikely to avoid doubles, even with the debuff.
    • Her combat-oriented options are a bit limited due to her flying status restricting her from accessing various skills. That being said, Mystic Boost is wonderful to extend Plumeria’s anti-magic capabilities to dragons and also benefit from self-healing. Quick Riposte is a potential alternative to guarantee her follow-up attack, or Guard to halt enemy Special activations if Mirror Stance 3 isn’t used.
  • The Fierce Stance and Mirror Stance seals assist Plumeria in securing OHKOs against opposing foes, which she can do quite reliably with the proper investment due to her innately high Attack and access to a four-point +ATK IV; the latter also makes her even more durable to magic. Quick Riposte may be considered to ensure her follow-up attack (if it isn’t already taken in her B slot), or Distant Def or Warding Stance if wanting to focus purely on her bulk instead of her damage.

Passive C: Atk/Res Rein / Ground Orders / Guidance / Flier Buffs / Tactic Skills / Flexible

Sacred Seal: Death Blow / Heavy Blade / Sturdy Blow / Mirror Blow

  • One also has the option of equipping Plumeria with a more straightforward, offensive-leaning build by merit of how high her innate firepower is. Stacking as much Attack on her as possible (including through her IVs) is to strengthen her consistency at landing OHKOs, as this is critical to her success and longevity -- she’s far too slow to naturally perform follow-up attacks on her own, and the enemy surviving will likely result in her death if they deal physical damage and can counterattack.
  • Although her Flower of Plenty can be kept since she’s still meant to have some supportive value, the majority of her utility comes from elsewhere (namely Sweet Dreams) so it may be worthwhile to consider swapping her PRF out for a Blade tome instead. Through its substantially higher damage ceiling, a Blade tome renders it much easier for Plumeria to land OHKOs -- at the cost of being entirely dependent on receiving field buffs for her damage.
  • Glimmer and Moonbow are recommended Specials for their exceedingly low cooldowns, which lets Plumeria actually benefit from the damage boost provided by a Special in contrast to those with longer cooldowns. However, if using a Blade tome, Draconic Aura is a bit of an exception when alongside the Heavy Blade seal; it will then activate at the same rate Glimmer and Moonbow normally does, but grants much heftier damage.
  • Atk/Res Push 4 is a standout A slot that is both economical (as it already comes included in Plumeria’s base kit) and effective, bolstering her offensive might and magic durability considerably. Although this will generally function perfectly fine, Sturdy Impact skills is a highly lucrative alternative that serves to improve her survivability through its negating of her foe’s follow-up attack and sizable +10 Defense boost, which may even let her survive a physical enemy retaliation should she fail to OHKO.
  • Mystic Boost is likely her best choice of B slot skill from a combat perspective, pairing well with her two main A slots; it helps counteract the self-inflicted chip damage from Atk/Res Push, and pairs well with the pseudo-defensive nature of Sturdy Impact by forcing dragons to target her Resistance and healing off any damage she may incur. Otherwise, Plumeria’s standard support B slot options can be considered instead. The same goes for her C slot should one not wish to use Atk/Res Rein.
  • Lastly, any seal that elevates Plumeria’s raw damage output should be fielded if not using the Heavy Blade seal alongside a Blade tome, including Death Blow, Sturdy Blow, and Mirror Blow.

Strengths

Sweet Dreams

Plumeria’s exclusive Sweet Dreams stands as the core of the dark fairy’s exceptional supportive potential, operating as a much more powerful version of Sing and Dance.

  • In addition to providing an additional action, Sweet Dreams buffs Plumeria’s chosen ally and simultaneously debuffs any foes within four spaces of them as well, functioning as a built-in Cantrip effect.
  • While the actual values of these buffs and debuffs may not be particularly impressive when looked at individually, they all together allow Plumeria to provide a massive edge to her team -- against an opponent unfortunate enough to be caught in Sweet Dream’s debuffing effect, her supported ally can benefit from an effective +7 stat advantage across the board.
  • Sweet Dream’s rather wide radius for applying its debuff also makes it incredibly easy to use in practice, as well as making it highly likely that multiple foes will be debilitated with one usage; this pairs extremely well with units who are dependent on debuffs to function, such as Broadleaf users.

Flower of Plenty

While the in-combat buffs it applies may not be especially potent, her Flower of Plenty remains a solid accompaniment to her arsenal nonetheless (as Attack and Resistance are both key stats in Aether Raids), and its generous radius enables Plumeria to continue supporting her allies even after refreshing them with great ease.

Flying Benefits

Even without accounting for the various intricacies and nuances of her unique skills, Plumeria holds a great deal of value simply by merit of being a flying refresher, as this lets her grant extremely useful mobility-based support through skills like Ground Orders and Guidance; this makes her team’s movement and positioning much more flexible.

Fantastic Attack and Resistance

Plumeria possesses an extremely min-maxed statline, boasting particularly strong Attack and Resistance stats -- not to mention access to a four-point Attack Asset to boot. Her Resistance is useful for both wield debuffing skills to great effect and magic tanking, and her high Attack does give the flexibility of running more damage oriented sets. With enough investment or through the use of skills like Fury, Plumeria can also utilize these high values to draw away enemy sources of Chill Atk and Chill Res from her allies.

Astra Mythical Hero

Plumeria’s status as an Astra Mythical Hero is a great boon to her viability for many reasons:

  • By simply being present on the map, Plumeria directly increases one’s scoring potential in Aether Raids during Anima season substantially, essentially making her required for anyone who wishes to further supplement their Lift gains by a good amount.
  • Any ally equipped with an Astra Blessing in Aether Raids will also receive a strong stat boost -- +5 HP and +4 Speed -- for every copy of Plumeria present, which does act as another layer of support that she can provide. The fact that she buffs Speed also makes the dark fairy a strong complement to other units who rely on it to function, such as those equipped with skills like Repel for damage reduction.
  • Most importantly, though, Plumeria stands out above the other currently available Astra Mythic Heroes at the time of writing due to her greater capacity for support. Unlike Altina (whose prowess lies in her combat abilities) and Naga (whose only real utility is providing dragon effectiveness), her entire kit is extremely well-suited to aid the team carries for successful Offense runs -- and her being a refresher herself opens up a slot to use other types of support units.

Weaknesses

Abysmal Speed and Defense

With the vast majority of her stats being allocated towards her Attack and Resistance stats, Plumeria is left with extremely poor Defense and equally disappointing Speed. This combination leaves the dark fairy quite susceptible to physical damage -- even if she were to somehow escape an outright OHKO from a physical damage dealer, they would still be exceedingly likely to double and kill her then.

Effective Damage

Although Plumeria’s flying status is a considerable advantage, it also comes with the detriment of being weak to opposing archers, who are essentially guaranteed to kill her coupled with her low Defense; remaining cautious of such opponents is crucial to ensure Plumeria isn’t preemptively killed. This also makes mage tanking sets incredibly risky if an archer is also on the opposing team
