  • This build takes advantage of Lachesis’ stellar combination of traits -- a high base Resistance stat, ability to provide useful mobility-based support, flexible mobility, innate access to Temari -- to maximize her supportive value as a refresher. For the purpose of this set, a Resistance Asset (alongside a +RES refine on her weapon) is ideal to strengthen her ability to apply mass debuffs via Temari and Sabotage skills.
  • Since Lachesis is unlikely to be seeing combat with this set, she can safely equip Fort. Def/Res to grant her even more consistency at landing her debuffs without regard for the slight decrease it applies to her attack; this skill also helps mitigate her poor Defense. One does have the option to use Fury to preserve some of her combat potential while similarly boosting her visible Resistance, or if Fort. Def/Res is simply unavailable.
    • While this skill does not do anything to help Lachesis’ debuffing capabilities, G Duel Flying remains a worthwhile consideration for those aiming to use the Ballroom Bloom in Colosseum related modes to boost her scoring potential.
  • Since Temari can already apply a powerful debuff to her foes’ Attack and Speed stats, Lachesis is free to run Sabotage Def (or Sabotage Res if the rest of her team consists of magical damage dealers) in her B slot to round out her set of debuffs. Under the proper circumstances (i.e. provided foes have at least three less Resistance stats than her and are adjacent to an ally at the start of the turn), Lachesis can potentially land a debilitating -5/-5/-7 Atk/Spd/Def debuff combination so that her allies can swiftly sweep through the opposing forces. Given the scarcity of Sabotage skills, though, the corresponding Chill can be taken instead though this doesn’t synergize as nicely with Temari, or even her native Def Cantrip can be kept.
    • Alternatively, Lachesis can utilize the tried-and-true Wings of Mercy in her B slot to gain an incredible amount of additional flexibility in her movement (which is already quite flexible given her flying status) and help her allies get out of a tough bind.
  • As a flier, Lachesis can equip powerful skills such as Ground Orders and Guidance in her C slot to vastly improve her team’s mobility; this also lets her shine as a support in flier-exclusive teams through the use of flier buffs. Alternative options include a Tactic, Drive, or other standard buffing C slot skill one has.
  • The Phantom Res seal synergizes wonderfully with this build’s intended purpose and all but guarantees that Lachesis will be able to land her equipped debuffing skills, but Fortress Res may be used instead should one wish to enhance her visible stat for increased Iceberg damage and/or draw away Chills from her allies. Any choice of Drive, Ploy, Chill, or Tactic skill or Guidance may also be considered.

  • Her high base Resistance can also be put to use for a more combat-centered build tailored for drawing away magical hits from her allies, while still possessing a good amount of utility (though not to the extent that the first build does). Since magic tanking is this set’s primary purpose, a +RES IV makes for a natural fit, though +ATK is also a potential consideration given this build’s more aggressive approach to her intended playstyle.
  • For her weapon, Lachesis’ native Courtly Mask is a fantastic choice that pairs wonderfully with both this build’s playstyle and her natural statline -- given her low Speed, she can benefit from the 50% damage reduction and bonus Attack / Resistance boost with relative consistency. Alternatively, she can use Barb Shuriken to hasten her Special activation, pairing well with Noontime to activate it on every counterattack for consistent sustain. Regardless, a Resistance refine should be taken on her weapon.
  • Distant Def is a powerful skill that enhances Lachesis’ durability against ranged opponents during the Enemy Phase, making for a great choice here -- the upgraded Distant Def 4, while pricey, also has the benefit of negating enemy bonuses. Mirror Stance and Warding Stance are also options due to their similar defensive focus, and Fury is a solid budget choice for a well-rounded stat boost.
  • Her choice of B slot will vary depending on whether one wants a more selfish approach or a more supportive approach. For support purposes, Wings of Mercy is a fantastic choice to teleport next to weakened allies who are the ones most likely to require her assistance. Sabotage and Chill skills lie in a middle ground that helps support her teammates with the mass debuffs they apply while improving her own performance since she can benefit from this as well. For a selfish approach, Quick Riposte can be taken (or in her seal slot) to guarantee her follow-up attack, or Guard to halt enemy Special activations.
  • Lachesis’ C slot is pretty flexible here. Any available supportive C slot (such as mobility-based skills like her native Air Orders or one’s choice of buff) will work, though one can also consider Atk Smoke to improve her survivability (and Def Smoke is unnecessary since it’s already built into her weapon).
  • If Quick Riposte isn’t being used as her chosen B slot skill, it should be taken as her seal since she’s too slow to perform follow-up attacks without it. Otherwise, Distant Def or another defensive seal that increases Lachesis’ key stats can be taken; any choice of Drive, Ploy, Chill, or Tactic skill also work to add on to her supportive capabilities instead.

Show Explanation/Analysis

Weapon: Broadleaf Fan (+Atk)

Special: Miracle / Glimmer / Moonbow

Passive A: Close Foil / Close Counter

Passive B: Vantage

Passive C: Pulse Smoke / Atk Smoke / Flexible

Sacred Seal: Iote’s Shield / Heavy Blade / Fierce Stance / Brazen Skills

  • Lachesis’ access to the powerful Broadleaf Fan and high base Attack stat allows her to make relatively good use of a Vantage sweeper setup, focusing on consistently landing OHKOs on incoming foes during the Enemy Phase. Accordingly, a +ATK IV is recommended for this set.
  • The crux of this set lies in the combination of Broadleaf Fan (which provides a massive damage boost by granting her an attack boost equal to the total number of debuffs on a foe), Vantage, and either Close Foil or Close Counter; this allows her to cleanly sweep through incoming enemy forces upon losing enough HP. Close Foil is generally preferable for its Attack boost (and dragonstone users are exceedingly rare on defense teams), but Close Counter can still be taken if unavailable or if one wishes to remain on the safe side.
    • However, it is worth noting that reaching Lachesis’ full potential does require some setup in the Player Phase to apply her dagger’s built-in debuffs in preparation for the following Enemy Phase, so one should be careful not to just place her in enemy range without caution -- especially given her poor Defense and weakness to archers if any are on the opposing team.
  • While Dance can be kept to retain some of Lachesis’ supportive capabilities, one does have the option to use a positional Assist here instead to focus purely on her combat ability and allow her to benefit from refresher support herself. Miracle is a good Special choice here to provide some survivability since even with Vantage, taking damage isn’t always avoidable. Should one prefer damage, low cooldown options like Glimmer and Moonbow are ideal.
  • For Aether Raids, Pulse Smoke is strongly recommended to shut down Infantry Pulse-based compositions, which may otherwise prove quite difficult to counterplay. If unavailable, one can utilize Atk Smoke or Spd Smoke (since all daggers already have Def/Res Smoke built in) to further enhance her Broadleaf damage.
  • The Iote’s Shield is a good choice for Lachesis’ seal slot to help mitigate her weakness to archers who may otherwise pose too much of a risk for her to safely carry out her gameplan. If this is not a concern, the Heavy Blade works well to accelerate her Special activation rate (this is especially noteworthy if using Miracle), or an Attack-increasing skill such as Fierce Stance or a Brazen may be taken instead.

Strengths

Dance

Lachesis’ ability to grant her allies another action via Dance is undoubtedly the strongest asset in her arsenal by far, producing a massive boost to her team’s overall flexibility in approaching a certain map or battle. This alone provides her immense supportive value -- even without accounting for her other strengths.

Fantastic Resistance

Lachesis boasts a massive base Resistance stat, which complements her inherently supportive playstyle by letting her reliably use skills like Sabotages, Ploys, and Temari to apply mass debuffs on opposing foes. This also offers her considerable magical durability (which she can build upon if desired).

Strong Attack

With an equally impressive base Attack stat (not to mention her access to a four-point Asset in the same stat), Lachesis can hit surprisingly hard and heavily dent enemy HP pools with a single hit. This is a nice bonus in case she ever needs to go on the offensive mid-battle -- and given her access to the powerful Broadleaf Fan, Lachesis can even capitalize on this further with a one-shot build should one wish to focus less on her support.

Flier

Thanks to her flying status, Lachesis boasts fantastic mobility and can provide incredibly useful mobility-based support through the use of skills such as her native Air Orders, which help massively in allowing her allies to approach enemy teams from more favorable positions than otherwise possible.

Versatile

Lachesis' flexibility as a support unit should not be underestimated. Given her access to a variety of different weaponry and mobility based skills alongside the various applications of her own statline, her role and playstyle can vary massively to best serve her specific team composition, potentially fulfilling various needs simultaneously.

Weaknesses

Abysmal Defense

With so many of her stats being allocated to her Attack and Resistance stats, Lachesis unfortunately sports an incredibly low Defense stat to compensate. This combined with her unimpressive HP pool makes her quite vulnerable to most forms of physical damage and may even be outright OHKO’d should one be too careless.

Effective Damage

Being a flier, while certainly a strength in Lachesis’ case, comes at the cost of the Ballroom Bloom suffering from a debilitating weakness to opposing archers, and this is only cemented further by her low Defense. This can also make a Broadleaf build -- while certainly an option if one wanted her to use a more offensive set -- somewhat tricky to fully utilize in practice, since the Iote’s Shield will likely occupy her seal slot most of the time which prevents her from using other strong options like Heavy Blade.
