Hero Build Overview/Explanation

Linhardt has a surprisingly bulky (not to mention semi-offensive) statline, making up for his lackluster--or to put it into a more blunt term, atrocious--base kit. I will say this: this is a budget build. This is not his best build. But, it'll make Linhardt just good enough to be a great support ally on all maps.

First, the refine for his staff is the big question. And I gotta say, I'm going with Dazzling on this one. Linhardt's main goal here is chip damage and support, and in this case, rendering the foe unable to counterattack is better than calculating damage like other weapons, also to keep him somewhat safe so he can continue to trigger Guard, though his rather bulky stats will most likely cover most of his safety.

While this will leave his Atk stat much to be desired, Pain's weapon effect of dealing damage after combat will somewhat make up his A skill choice of Fortress Def/Fortress Res. Similar to Silque, he has good defenses instead of either having horrid Def/Res or having abysmal Def in exchange for somewhat decent speed and high Res; in this case, he has gotten middling speed in exchange for above average defenses, making him a valuable healer than can actually take a couple of hits and still survive. His Def is a bit lower than his Res, so Fortress Def would be my pick for the budget build. However, Fortress Def is also not a bad choice whatsoever, boosting his resistance to a hefty 46 Resistance counting his Resistance boon (as listed above) and Fortress Res 3 unmerged. Sheesh.

Since Wrathful Staff is a bit more difficult to obtain, Guard is a slightly better alternative where Linhardt will be able to inflict chip damage without accelerating the enemy's Special further. I will say this once more (I'm sorry LMFAO), but raw damage is not Linhardt's goal in this build. It's focused entirely on support, and he should leave offensive healers to people like Brave Veronica, Brave Camilla, and Sara.

Atk Ploy is also a bit easier to obtain also, though it is uncommon to be seen in kits like these. We're taking advantage of his high Resistance, where he can inflict a guaranteed -5 Atk on foes who are within Linhardt's cardinal range, though the usefulness of this skill is nearly entirely dependent on enemy positioning, so it wouldn't work well on battles like Rival Domains.

Live to Serve is a common yet effective choice, not only keeping Linhardt's tank status active but also keeping him healthy enough to keep triggering Guard in phases where he is either setting up kills or not healing.

Welp, I'll do a more expensive build soon. See ya!
