Skill Set

Hero Build Overview/Explanation

Orson is a relatively new unit, and his main idea is that he wants to be alone at all costs.

His Boon is recommended to be Res (to survive potential resistance based attacks), though it can also be Atk or Def.

His Bane should be Spd, as Spd is the most unimportant stat to Orson in this build (due to Quick Riposte)

His main weapon should be Bereft Lance. Bereft Lance is a 16 might weapon (so +16 attack) that also gives a free +3 defense. The Lance has 2 abilities, both relying on "how many allies are within 2 spaces of this unit". The first ability is an "Atk/Def super solo X" ability, that the less allies within 2 spaces of Orson, the better the Atk/Def solo is (I.E. 0 allies grants +6 Atk/Def, 1 ally grants +4 Atk/Def, 2 allies grants +2 Atk/Def, and 3 or more allies grants +0 Atk/Def). His second ability is a "Lull all" effect (if there is no allies or 1 ally within 2 spaces of Orson, Neutralizes Foe's Bonuses from skills like Fortify, Rally, etc). The main idea is that Orson wants no allies within 2 spaces of him. This may seem bad, but he can be supported as his 2nd ability (Lull all) can allow Orson to have 1 ally near him.

His assist skill (for arena scoring) should be any assist skill with a "+" in it. Because of his alone factor, the assist skill shouldn't matter (except any assist skill that can lower his HP).

His special should be bonfire as Orson can achieve extremely a extremely high Defense stat. As for why the special shouldn't be Ignis, the reason is because his B slot (Quick Riposte), and his low speed allows for the following interaction to happen: (enemy phase) Enemy attacks (Orson's Bonfire goes from 3 cooldown -> 2), Orson counter attacks (Orson's Bonfire goes from 2 cooldown -> 1), Enemy counter attacks (Orson's Bonfire goes from 1 cooldown -> charged), Orson (using Quick riposte) follows up and using Bonfire.

His A slot should be Atk/Def Catch 4 (as for why it's labeled as Atk/Def Solo 4 on the A slot, it is because Gamepress has yet to add Atk/Def Catch 4 onto the skill chooser, though Atk/Def Solo 4 can serve relatively the same purpose as Atk/Def Catch 4). The reason for Atk/Def Catch 4 is because it has 2 conditions. If 1 of the conditions are met, Orson gains +7 Atk/Def, but if both conditions are met, Orson gains and extra +2 Atk/Def (totaling up to +9 Atk/Def). The first condition is that the Opponent's HP is 100% (relatively easy to meet), while the second condition is that the Foe receives a Penalty (like Atk/Def Menace).

His B slot should be Quick Riposte 3, as this allows for when the opponent attacks, and Orson is greater than or equal to 70% of his max HP, then Orson will make a guaranteed Follow Up attack (which is important, as described in the special portion of his description).

His C slot should be Atk/Def Menace, as not only does the opponent who's closest to Orson (the furthest away that the opponent can be is 4 spaces, which is Orson's natural range) gets an -6 Atk/Def through their next actions, but Orson also gets +6 Atk/Def.

His S Slot should be Atk/Def Solo 3, as this just gives a free +6 Atk/Def.
