Introduction

Note: If you found this page after the game's release on 09/23/2021, please consult this doc for an updated list of skill translations.

Content below this line are legacy documentation from the CBT only

Now that a day has passed since the Girls' Frontline Project: Neural Cloud spinoff game has started its beta testing, we have information about every character that's available so far! While more of the playable cast may become available over the coming days, we'll reveal the characters who are currently available now.

This article will be updated when new characters become available in the Closed Beta Test (CBT), so stay tuned!

  • 10/24 update: Added Groove's character card and fixed a minor display issue with Angela's skills.
  • 10/21 update: Added Mai's datamined ultimate animation. Added the new characters Chelsea and Angela. Revised Gin's evaluation. Updated the English typesets of Fresnel, Chelsea, and revised Simo's.
  • 10/20 update: Added Lam's ultimate animation. Uploaded higher quality version of Sol's ultimate.

Note that in this CBT players don't really have a very wide variety of units to try out, so each Doll's usefulness relative to other Dolls in their class is not fully known yet. Also, because this is a closed beta, the exact game mechanics, numbers, or even character appearance are not final and subject to change when the game releases for real!

Live2D Adjutant Animations are available in the Live2D Gallery.

This page was made possible by kawa, Xynthexyz, and Ceia who helped provide the raw screenshots and checked translations! Also, thanks to Tensa who recorded a HD version of Antonina's ultimate!

All translations are tentative until an official EN release is announced.

Persicaria

Analysis

Persicaria is a Healer who is obtained as part of your first set of units. She will be your indispensible medic early game and her active skill should be trained to at least Level 4 to hit the first breakpoint for improving its efficiency.

Her ultimate reduces damage taken by allies and heals for over 40% of their hp, which can be great for relieving pressure when your team is low on HP and needs that heal NOW or for helping withstand incoming damage when you lack any other means of crowd control.

Professional Skills: AI field, technical development

"Working for long hours eventually leads to fatigue, so please make sure to balance your work with leisure. Would you like me to make you a cup of coffee to soothe your frustration?"

Translation: TMTO; Typesetting: kawa

"Persicaria" is a custom-made research assistant Doll built by 42Lab for the renowned AI researcher, Persica. Her appearance, body type, thought processes and so on are very similar to Professor Persica. Compared to the other 42Lab research Dolls, "Persicaria's" processing abilities and hardware are at the pinnacle of the industry standard. She also has extremely high compatibility with the field of AI technology, with excellent deep learning abilities.

After the revelation of "Project Neural Cloud", 42Lab is working with Professor Persica once more for her top-notch performance. "Persicaria" plays a key role in the development of this field of technology and is participating in the "Project Neural Cloud" beta test.

Croque

Analysis

Croque is a Defender who is obtained as part of your first set of units. She is a very tanky girl and can pretty much tank everything herself within a limited window with enough heals.

Her active skill makes her extremely tanky, since it will block all damage up to 25% of her hp even at just SL1. The taunt can also take pressure off other frontliners, and her limit break will see a lot of use early game until you unlock stronger ultimates.

Professional Skills: Mechanical Design, Adjustment, Analysis and Maintenance, Engineering Data Simulation, Computing and Analysis.

"The rhythm of the transmission, the intricate fit between gears, the regular cycles of the gas valves... ahhhh, it makes me sooooo excited (in all sorts of ways)!"

Translation: TMTO; Typesetting: kawa

The CEO of Svarog Heavy Industries Elon Thomas personally took part and created the engineering design for ME78. She entered service in July 2056 and was employed in Svarog Heavy Industries' core engineering division, taking part in many cutting-edge research and development programs, including improvements to a new energy source designed by Thomas, the "Noah Reactor", engineering support for Collapse Fluid energy generation technology R&D, and so on.

On January 2058, Svarog Heavy Industries and 42Lab signed a cooperation agreement for Project "Neural Cloud", and ME78 joined the first batch of Doll test subjects who went to 42Lab to take part in Project "Neural Cloud".

Sol

Analysis

Sol is a Warrior who is obtained as part of your first set of units. She's going to be your early game DPS and she can take advantage of the blue jump tile to snipe off the enemy backline.

Sol scales well with Function Cards and stacking a few good ones can really help her pop off in terms of her overall damage output. She's quite squishy if focused by enemies though, so make sure your Defender or Medic dolls are up to the task!

Model: EG 4.0
Codename:  Sol
(Pronounced Su-Er in CN and /souːl/ for EN)
Manufacturer: 42Lab

Corporate Affiliation: 42Lab
Position: Scientific Expedition Guide
Professional Skills: Scientific expedition guidance, Security and Protection.

"If you're going on an adventure, please take me along! As long as big sis is around you will NEVER be hurt, not even a little!"

Translation: TMTO; Typesetting: kawa

After the end of the War, scientific exploration of Relic Sites became the focus of the scientific world's attention once more. The EG 4.0 model Expedition Guardian Doll was developed to address this niche.

The EG 4.0 is furnished with military-grade close-combat weaponry, such as the high-energy taser blade Árvakr and the transformable high-frequency blade Alsviðr, which pushes her close combat performance to that of military Dolls and fully demonstrates the technological skills of 42Lab. Compared to the preceding three generations of EG Dolls, the EG 4.0 has met with widespread approval from expedition teams due to its reliable performance and its warmth and closeness, the latter of which is rarely seen in ordinary Dolls. As one of 42Lab's internal Doll, EG 4.0 has been entered into the first batch of "Project Neural Cloud" participants.

(TL Note: In Norse mythology, Árvakr and Alsviðr are the horses which pull the sun, or Sól's chariot, across the sky each day.)

Hubble

Analysis

Hubble is a Sniper who came in a CBT-exclusive package (which means it's possible for her to be a non-welfare gacha unit). She's an extremely formidable ranged DPS whose active skill is literally a gigantic meteor strike

hubble active meteor strike
These enemies did not have a good day.

AoE damage skills are extremely strong in Project Neural Cloud because enemy units tend to clump up a lot. In cases where they don't, Hubble's ultimate solves that problem for you: it's a black hole that'll force enemies together whether they like it or not, stun them to prevent them from scattering for a short while, and deals true damage on top of that. What's not to love about this self-synergizing kit?

Limit Technique / Ultimate

Antonina

Analysis

Antonina is a Control class Doll who is obtained as a reward for clearing 1-7. She's a formidable crowd control specialist who provides support through stuns and debuffs.

antonina error trojan debuff range
Antonina's active skill appears to apply the Trojan debuff globally.

Once Antonina reaches 2.5 stars, she will passively apply Trojan debuff stacks to her targets with normal attacks. This can let her reliably provide stun support even without her ultimate, although in situations where you need emergency CC, Antonina's ultimate can still come in handy.

Limit Technique / Ultimate

Model: H-01
Codename: Antonina
Manufacturer: 42Lab

Corporate Affiliation: 42Lab
Position: Network Security Specialist
Professional Skills: Network security testing and technical support

"Staring at people and sizing them up is very dangerous. Ah, that reminds me, I've already rooted your devices...just kidding."

Translation: TMTO; Typesetting: kawa

In contrast to traditional Autonomous Dolls, H-01 - who is equipped with plenty cutting-edge technology from 42Lab - not only possesses some of the world's best data processing and computational abilities, but she can also briefly upload her consciousness into various devices. With the help of this special ability, H-01 has taken part in many top-secret 42Lab projects as a network security specialist, including the development project for the "Sanctifier" network security system.

After "Project Neural Cloud" began testing, 42Lab arranged for H-01 to join it as a key security element.

Fresnel

Analysis

Fresnel is a Sniper class Doll who is obtained as part of your first set of units. She's a pretty standard ranged DPS with an interesting passive unlocked at 2.5 stars.

Fresnel doesn't yet have an ultimate in this iteration of the Project Neural Cloud CBT. It is possible that she'll get one later on as the game's development continues.

Fresnel's active skill deals AoE damage in a line and proper placement can significantly improve her DPS output.

Company: 42Lab
Model: OSRA
Codename: Fresnel
Role: Optics Researcher
Job Skills: Optics, Scientific Research

"Even if they've been machined into uniformity with artificial precision, each and every crystal still shines with their own distinct beauty when the light shines on them."

The OSRA series of optical research Dolls is considered one the most expensive and high-performance units of 42Lab's product line. This model is produced in Austria by 42Lab and is fitted with high-performance optical sensors upon leaving the factory, including a specially-made large Fresnel lens which is as expensive as the Doll herself. Due to their high production costs and limited production runs, only a few elite research organizations have the finances and backing needed to order OSRAs for research.

Banxsy

Analysis

Banxsy is a Control class Doll who came in a CBT-exclusive package (which means it's possible for her to be a non-welfare gacha unit). She provides utility by debuffing enemy dodge change, but she has to walk up into medium-close range in order to hit enemies.

Banxsy doesn't yet have an ultimate in this iteration of the Project Neural Cloud CBT. It is possible that she'll get one later on as the game's development continues.

Banxsy's active skill is a simple AoE hit.

Company: Cyber Media
Model: ARTIST 3.0
Codename: Banxsy
Role: Street Artist
Job Skills: Street art, Graffiti

"No matter whether people are human or a doll, they should all be true to their own thoughts and desires, instead of spending their lives trapped by tons of rules and regulations."

The ARTIST series of Dolls is one of Cyber Media's flagship products, with excellent stage performance abilities as their main selling point. Artist 3.0s act as Cyber Media's "visual artwork". However, what truly makes the Artist 3.0s famous are their personal "side jobs" - namely, street graffiti.

Mai

Analysis

Mai is a Sniper class Doll who came in a CBT-exclusive package (which means it's possible for her to be a non-welfare gacha unit). Her active skill generates a stationary whirlwind that deals damage over time, while her passive skill lets Mai deal additional damage to enemies near her primary target.

Mai doesn't yet have an ultimate in this iteration of the Project Neural Cloud CBT. However, as her ultimate's animation movie has been datamined, it is very possible that she'll get one later on as the game's development continues.

Because Mai's passive skill significantly increases her DPS, it is recommended to raise her to at least 2.5 stars to unlock Mai's full offensive capabilities.

Limit Technique / Ultimate

Company: 42Lab
Model: Maia
Codename: Mai
Position: Meterological Researcher
Job Skills: Weather forecasting and research

"Today's temperature, humidity and air quality are all pretty good, if only every day would be like this..."

After the end of World War 3, many countries moved "biosphere protection and recovery"-related projects up on their list of priorities. Based on this, 42Lab rolled out the Maia Doll series. They are primarily used for weather monitoring, forecasting, air quality monitoring, and other such tasks. These Dolls had excellent performance and competitive production costs as a selling point, and they were soon put into service in weather forecasting and scientific research departments.

Gin

Analysis

Gin is a Healer class Doll who, interestingly, doesn't even heal until he reaches 2.5 stars. Fortunately for him, once Gin does get raised to that level, he becomes the best healer in the entire game with HP/s far surpassing even what Persica is capable of.

Gin doesn't yet have an ultimate in this iteration of the Project Neural Cloud CBT. It is possible that he'll get one later on as the game's development continues.

The below clip showcases how Gin (top left of field) heals the team - his active allows him to heal the entire team simultaneously.

Evelyn

Analysis

Evelyn is a Defender class Doll who came in a CBT-exclusive package (which means it's possible for her to be a non-welfare gacha unit). Evelyn's kit is quite interesting, with her active dealing high damage in an AoE while also applying a short stun that can interrupt enemies.

Evelyn doesn't yet have an ultimate in this iteration of the Project Neural Cloud CBT. It is possible that she'll get one later on as the game's development continues.

Since Evelyn's only survivability comes from her passive, it is highly recommended to raise  Evelyn to 2.5 stars if you plan to use her to tank.

Simo

Analysis

Simo is a Sniper class Doll who is obtained as a reward after clearing 2-4 and reading a story-only node. She is unfortunately outshone by Hubble in this closed beta, but as a free unit, she's sure to see use in player rosters in the game proper.

Simo doesn't yet have an ultimate in this iteration of the Project Neural Cloud CBT. It is possible that she'll get one later on as the game's development continues.

Model: S-WG
Codename: Simo
Manufacturer: Svarog Heavy Industries

Corporate Affiliation: Svarog Heavy Industries
Position: Sniper
Professional Skills: Battlefield Intelligence Gathering, Assassination

"You see this white ferret? It's name is Sako, and no matter how dangerous the mission, it's my best...and only partner. Hehe-"

S-WG is a Special Forces Doll developed by Svarog Heavy Industries. They were released with a sniper crossbow, cutting-edge optics, optical camouflage and many other pieces of high-tech equipment. These advancements make them extremely suited for launching long-ranged attacks while concealed in the environment, assassinating VIPs and gathering information. S-WG served in the Eastern European Union Defense Army's ground forces, carried out a number of covert missions, almost without failure… except for the last one.

After retiring from the army, S-WG was sent to 42Lab as a test subject to take part in "Project Neural Cloud".

Chelsea

Analysis

Chelsea is a Warrior class Doll who came in a CBT-exclusive package (which means it's possible for her to be a non-welfare gacha unit). Her [Laceration] debuff adds a respectable amount of additional damage to her overall DPS, making Chelsea an excellent DPS unit who can easily compete with or even outdamage Sol

Chelsea's active skill begins a series of AoE hits centered on herself, while her ultimate deals an incredible amount of AoE damage that can't miss, can crit, and hits the entire field.

Limit Technique / Ultimate

Model: FF-ALPHA
Codename: Chelsea
Manufacturer: Svarog Heavy Industries

Corporate Affiliation: Svarog Heavy Industries
Position: Firefighter
Professional Skills: Fire management and emergency response

"Flames symbolize passion, but it's not good to be overzealous! If it gets out of control, calm it down with a high pressure water jet!"

FF-ALPHA is a Doll created by Svarog Heavy Industries for use in fire management and emergency response situations. This model was launched in the mid-2050s. In order to adapt to the highly dangerous environment of a fire, FF-ALPHA was designed and built to be highly resistant to smoke, dust, fire and high temperatures. The Doll also possesses portable firefighting equipment that is able to switch between a high pressure water jet, a powder extinguisher and a foam extinguisher. In 2058, Svarog Heavy Industries and the local government arranged FF-ALPHA to participate in the "Project Neural Cloud" tests.

Groove

Analysis

Groove is a Control class Doll who is obtained as a reward for completing the tutorial. Groove's active skill with its increased dodge chance can provide some survivability, while her passive can potentially contribute an obscene amount of DPS especially when lots of enemies are present.

Groove doesn't yet have an ultimate in this iteration of the Project Neural Cloud CBT. It is possible that she'll get one later on as the game's development continues.

Without a lot of testing, it isn't clear how strong Groove's passive actually is in practical scenarios. While a mixed kit like Groove's typically signals a relatively weak character, everything depends on numbers and this could be different in practice!

Company: Cyber media
Model: MDJ
Codename: Groove
Role: DJ
Job Skills: Radio and club music disk jockey

"Let your restless heartbeat dance to the rhythm of the music, becoming one with this sleepless starry night!"

The MDJ is one of Cyber Media's most competitive products, able to easily master music of different styles, genres, and equipped with a certain degree of creative ability. According to a certain entertainment magazine the Doll band ZIGGY once received a demo tape from a creator called Heartbeat.

One of the songs on it, "Stardust", was immediately adopted by Ziggy's members and soon became one of their hits. According to Ziggy's members, an MDJ Doll might have created the song, but they never revealed the Doll's name. To date, no concrete information on the subject has emerged.

Lam

Analysis

Lam is a Sniper class Doll who came in a CBT-exclusive package (which means it's possible for her to be a non-welfare gacha unit). Lam is a purely DPS-focused Sniper whose kit revolves around dealing as much damage as possible to enemies unfortunate enough to be caught in Lam's line of fire.

Speaking of Lam, doesn't she look familiar? Indeed, she's actually who LWMMG was before recruitment into G&K, and her GFL name shows up in the Neural Cloud Teaser Materials!

Limit Technique / Ultimate

Jessie

Analysis

Jessie is a Control class Doll who came in a CBT-exclusive package (which means it's possible for her to be a non-welfare gacha unit). Jessie's kit revolves around preventing the application of debuffs on her teammates and she can contribute some very minor healing in fights where debuffs are absent.

Of course, 20% of missing health is basically nothing - so Jessie can't substitute for an actual healer.

The T-Doll version of Jessie after her run-in with G&K is almost certainly the Trench Gun

Angela

Analysis

Angela is a Sniper class Doll who came in a CBT-exclusive package (which means it's possible for her to be a non-welfare gacha unit). Angela's active skill may not seem all that exciting against regular mooks, but a % max health damage against particularly tanky bosses can let Angela outdamage everyone else!

Angela doesn't yet have an ultimate in this iteration of the Project Neural Cloud CBT. It is possible that she'll get one later on as the game's development continues.

Trivia

Here are some fun facts about Project: Neural Cloud and its character cast. Take a look at the below screenshot:

Character selection

Total Number of Playable Dolls

The Doll Collection rate of 30% (top right) with 12 Dolls unlocked implies that the total number of playable Dolls in the Project Neural Cloud Closed Beta Test client is ~40.

This number can obviously change in future rounds of testing or at official release, but it does show that there are many, many units who haven't been revealed yet!

Unit Rarity

The Doll cards change color when their rarities are raised. This occurs at every half-star stage (i.e. 1.5 stars, 2.5 stars. etc.) So far, the sequence goes blue → purple → orange → ?.

So far, all passive skills unlock at rank 5 (2.5 stars), and ultimates unlock at rank 6 (3 stars). While not all dolls have ultimate skills at this time, it is unknown whether they will receive such skills in the future.

The maximum skill level of a Doll is determined by their rank, so ranking up Doll rarity is required to train their skills to and above 6. (Since rarity maxes at rank 10 or 5 stars, so does maximum skill level).

Level 6 is a very important breakpoint at which Passive and Active skills gain significant additional effects!
