Clear Steps

If you're sensing a pattern with our Dual Randomness Mechanics of the Map, you're quite correct, because that continues here.

This time that mechanic is Multi-Level-Maps. These are maps within maps, that can be moved in between via a toggle on the bottom left of your screen, looking like this:

The icon for changing map layer

This icon will first appear when you move between map layers, or if the map starts with multiple layers. It will appear for you at the end of Turn 1 on this map, for instance. Clicking on this icon will cycle you through map layers. Become famliar with this button, as the client, for reaons unclear, will reset the map layer at every turn start. This is largely annoying, and if you find yourself staring at the wrong map, click this button to see if you can find the one shown in the guide.

Speaking of annoying, this map. It's not hard. Even if you are standing and fighting, the enemies are difficult to defeat beyond the usual night battle nonsense. No, this map is annoying because the game gives exactly zero direction bout which way you are supposed to travel to get back to the upper map layer.

The correct solution is to make your way to the upper right corner of the map while evading the various enemies on the way to conserve your Rations and Ammo. The clear takes a brutal 9 turns to complete, leaving you to engage a final enemy with a single Ration bar remaining.

In fairness, the EX variant is equally unclear, but in that one, the map design does unconsciously lead you to the destination via slowly exposing parts of the map. This, however, just slaps a map in front of players and says 'Good luck finding your destination'. If you are playing blind do not feel bad about stumbling and failing more than a few times here. I failed several times on old servers.

Turn 1

1.1

Deploy an Echelon on the Command Post. Move up one node, this will move you to the lower level of the map.

1.2

Move your Echelon to the right one node, and end your turn.

Turn 2

2.1

Move your Echelon down one node. End your turn.

Turn 3-4-5

3.1

Move your Echelon to the down-right one node. End your turn now, as we need to wait for enemies to move out of our path.

Turn 4

4.1

End your turn. We need to wait on the enemies to move a little bit farther.

Turn 5

5.1

End your turn once more.

Turn 6

6.1

Move your Echelon to the right two nodes.

Turn 7

7.1

Move your Echelon to the right four nodes, and end your turn.

Turn 8

8.1

Move your Echelon to the right one node. End your turn.

Turn 9

9.1

Move your Echelon to the right one more node, then up four nodes.

Turn 10

10.1

Move your Echelon up one node, and return to the upper map layer.

Use any Grenades you wish to soften 416 before attacking.

10.2

Move your Echelon onto the Command Post, defeating the 416 as needed.
