Equipment

Overview

AUG is a limited drop Doll who shares a skill with SAR-21. Her shared unique skill exceeds ROF cap and gives them both a unique targeting which switches targets with each shot. Unlike SAR-21 who’s limited by her mediocre stats, AUG’s overall stats are very good with base Damage higher than average for self buffers, very high in-class Accuracy, and exceptional ROF during her skill.

Her unique tile buffs and Damage/Accuracy buffs for all dolls, buffing both ARs if put in a 3AR team and whatever off tank she’s paired with. These along with her unique skill put her in a good position to be slotted into many teams, although her skill’s inconsistency should be noted if using her as a primary DPS.

Strengths

Unique Skill and Targeting

Unlike other ROF self-buffers, AUG and SAR-21’s shared skill allow them to not only exceed the usual ROF cap, but also the random targeting provides for potential to bypass enemy tanks and directly attack DPS units. Having a 4 second ICD allows her to utilize her backline damage as some formations are still approaching.

Very Good Stats

Between her skill exceeding ROF cap to her high base damage and very high accuracy (5th in class at 57)

Unique Buffs and Great Tiles

Buffing all Dolls and sharing tile positioning with M4, this allows AUG to be placed in tile 4 for standard formations while buffing all Dolls on the team.

Weaknesses

Random Targeting

Unfortunately random targeting leaves much to be desired. Unlike RFB who’s unique targeting guarantees backline damage, depending on formations and the distribution of enemy DPS units, luck plays a large factor as to which units she targets, lowering consistency against backline units.

Weak Buff

While putting her in the center of a formation, giving all units a damage and accuracy buff, the buffs themselves are relatively weak compared to a handgun in the same position. She is, however, a unique DPS and buffer, however traditional night echelons of 2AR2SMG1HG may not be able to fully utilize her.

Mediocre Uptime

As much of her damage and utility in damaging backline is based on her skill, a 7/16 uptime and a may be good for most fights, but her very high ROF and potential for good DPS shouldn’t be a temptation for longer or boss fights.

Baits Players Into Making Bad Echelons

No, you shouldn't use a mixed echelon just because AUG buffs all types with her tiles. She's still a spraying AR so she fits in an ARSMG.

Full Analysis

AUG has a powerful skill which exceeds the ROF cap and randomizes her targeting on the enemy echelon, potentially allowing her to hit enemy backline units. She also has very good positioning which gives her a place in a utility role. Combined with her random targeting, this gives AUG a unique role in supporting other ARs with her aggressive tiles and potentially killing enemy backline links.

Her unique tile buffs mean she can be placed anywhere on the backline to match whatever formations you may need. Being placed on tile 4 allows her to buff effectively any formation she could be placed in, but being put in tiles 1 or 7 is still useful for unconventional formations or with HS2000 in tile 1.

While her 12% Damage and 20% accuracy may be less than handguns, it’s still worth noting that not only her Accuracy shouldn’t be understated, her buffs aren’t nearly inconsequential as an AR buffing all dolls, and her DPS is nothing to ignore.

While her 55 damage puts her right on the higher end average for her class, it should be noted that in terms of self buffers, she’s only outclassed by 9 others at the time of writing. However, her high Accuracy and nearly unmatched ROF during skill uptime brings her potential DPS to the top.

Her random targeting from her skill, Rain of Burial, is both a blessing and a curse. While she can potentially knock links off of backline units, and her high ROF increases her odds of doing so, random targeting as opposed to RFB and RF’s direct backline targeting mean it’s nowhere near as consistent depending on how many tanks are in the echelon formation. There’s also the risk that her skill may not kill an enemy link in one shot before switching to another target, although this risk is significantly lower compared to SAR-21.

Being a limited drop doll means that she’s less accessible than other replacements, however her very unique capabilities and buffs mean that she’s worth acquiring if and when she rolls around again.
