Equipment

Overview

TAC-50 is the lover of maple syrup and queen of the mostly dead niche that is bamboo RFs. Due to her long cooldown and inability to match self buffers when dealing with multiple enemies, TAC-50 is niche in most cases. While she can claim the title of highest possible damage to bosses in a single shot, TAC-50 will generally not see much chance to get used.

Strengths

Skillshot Critical Damage

TAC-50's skill shot has the chance to land a critical hit, causing insanely higher damage.

High FP

A base firepower of 155 is rather high for an RF, and is very useful for sub-class that focuses on dealing as much damage in one shot.

Good tiles

Her tiles are 18% handgun cooldown reduction that are usual with the 5 star rarity, and the shape fits well with TAC on position 7 in an RFHG.

Weaknesses

Low RoF

At 32 rate of fire, TAC-50 has a rather low rate of fire for RFs, making her mobbing capabilities even poorer than usual for an RF.

Bamboo is more niche

In most common cases, bamboo RFs are not recommended and often worse than more general-use selfbuffers, with their niche use-cases getting tighter.

Skill has random targeting

Because her skill has the quirk of random targeting, TAC-50 can nuke the wrong target if unlucky or managed wrong.

Full Analysis

The bamboo rework has not been kind to TAC-50 and other bamboos, as it means that she can no longer charge her skillshot while moving to potentially meet tile check skill buffs or dodge enemy attacks. Their most common application is nuking bosses and instantly killing them to skip their invincibility phases, something that has fallen off as boss health pools have inflated past the point of nuking.

The standout thing about TAC-50 is that, unlike a majority of nuke-shot bamboo RFs, TAC-50’s skill can deal critical damage. Her 5 second initial skill cooldown is the same as that of smaller bamboos like Springfield. This is a minimum effective initial cooldown of 6 seconds to a maximum of 11 seconds.

When her skill is at full charge, her targeting changes randomly, but a visual indicator is shown with her drone. Her skillshot being able to crit makes TAC-50 potentially be able to deal much more damage to elites and bosses than any other bamboo in the game.

TAC-50’s skill’s 4.5x damage multiplier might initially seem weaker than counterparts, but her ability to crit and using a cape means that she can go up to a 7.875x multiplier. That is higher than other lower icd bamboo RFs can reach.

Because her skill can scale with crit damage as well as regular raw firepower buffs, TAC-50 can potentially reach multipliers that rival even large 8s icd bamboos like NTW-20. For example, while the largest raw firepower aura available from a fairy is Artillery Fairy at 55%, just a Command Fairy gives 36% firepower and 36% crit damage, which TAC-50 can take to effectively an 84.96% buff, and it is not even the best fairy for minmaxing TAC-50.

Crit damage and crit rate buff sources often are larger than regular firepower buffs, so TAC-50 synergizes well with dolls and fairies who provide those to maximize her crit damage and keep her crit rate at 100% for consistency.

Since her skill targeting is randomized, you usually either want to clear out all other enemies besides the boss or make sure her drone Maple Moon is indicating the intended target when you activate the skill.

As previously stated, bamboo as a whole is mostly a dead subclass, but it can still find use. TAC-50 can nuke lower health bosses or be used to take out key high hp or evasive threats in enemy formations due to her sure-hit high single target burst damage. Since her skill comes out quickly but she can reach incredibly high multipliers, TAC-50 can see use among other bamboo RFs like NTW-20.

Team Options

TAC-50 benefits from firepower, crit damage and critrate buffs to scale well with her skill, or needed rate of fire if she already has enough buffs to kill her target. Jill Stingray, if you were around for the VA-11 Hall-A collab, is a standout candidate because she does both of these, letting you focus on stacking critrate buffs and converting them into ridiculously high crit damage buffs. Otherwise, the addition of a high rarity Fury fairy would be reasonable.
